Serena is a young girl who is just starting on her journey as a Pokémon trainer in the Kalos region. She was confirmed to be in the XY anime in Smash #153. She wears a fashionable set of thigh-high socks and has excellent zettai ryouki according to Shoko Nakagawa, which is the area of bare skin that can be seen between her skirt and thighhighs. Serena appears to have met Ash before.
Serena loves fashion and baking. She knows Ash from a pokemon Summer camp before Ash journey began. It is revealed that Serena has a crush on Ash but it hasn't been made known to anyone in any significant way as of yet. She is still very undecided on what her goal in life is to be as her mother is a famous Rhyhorn racer but unlike Dawn it doesn't look like she will follow in her mother's footsteps.

Serena's Fennekin was the Pokémon that Serena chose as her starter Pokémon at Professor Sycamore lab.Serena thought that after seeing all the starter Pokémon for real that they were all cute but she had already decided before she left home that she would get a Fennekin.
