The Shiseido Global Innovation Center (S/PARK) will hold the Harada Tadashi Collaborative exhibition BEAUTY EXPANSION with Pokémon Shirts from Friday October 15th, 2021 to Saturday, October 30th, 2021. (Closed on Sundays). For this exhibition, Shiseido's top hair and makeup artist Tadashi Harada will showcase his work in collaboration with Pokémon Shirts, a service that allows you to order your very own Pokémon shirt.

Harada has not only done hair and make-up for collections and advertisements, but has continued to take on the challenge of various beauty expressions such as visualizing popular manga and characters. Harada's unique expression and works have been highly regarded, and he collaborated on the Pokémon Shirts key visuals, in which he challenged himself to visualize the Pokémon characters Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza in hair, makeup, and fashion.

In this exhibition, the process of completing the Pokémon Shirts key visual will be shown, from image sketches to displays of hair wigs and hair pieces, as well as an original making-of video. Furthermore, as the exhibition is held within the Shiseido Global Innovation Center, Shiseido researchers will also be exhibiting scientific expressions of the key visuals from various perspectives as an initiative to allow visitors to familiarize themselves with cosmetics research technology. During the exhibition period, the S/PARK Cafe in the same facility will sell original red, blue, and green drinks inspired by Harada's works, and the S/PARK Museum will sell a limited edition booklet of Tadashi Harada x Pokémon Shirts and Pokémon acrylic key chains.

Contents of Exhibition

The world's largest Crystal LED display system, as of April 2019, on the first floor will display for the first time Harada's original and powerful collaborative video with Pokémon Shirts. Cornish, a composer and music producer who has created music for many popular TV programs and animations, including Pokémon, and is an artist with a unique sensibility and a wealth of novelty that he sublimates with his outstanding skills, has created a piece of music inspired by the key visual. The music is inspired by the key visuals and is used in the video. The design and styling of the Pokémon Shirts will also be exhibited.

Conisch recently composed the music for the animation Pokémon Twilight Wings (series of animation started from Jan 2020 inspired by the world-renowned Pokémon video games) which is gaining excellent reputation. His album released at the beginning of 2020 "ONKAN Episode1" is a collaborative work with a well-known sculptor Junkyu Muto and well-received as an innovative attempt of harmonising art and music.

The BEAUTY EXPANSION booth on the second floor is a space where visitors can "relive" Tadashi Harada's creations with their five senses. The exhibition shows the process of creating a key visual work inspired by the Pokémon shirt and the Pokémon characters Groudon, Kyogre, and Rayquaza. From October 15th, 2021 to October 23rd, 2021, life-size LED panels of the key visuals will also be displayed.

Image Image

In addition, Shiseido's researchers have created an exhibition that expresses the key visuals through science from a variety of perspectives. Using the key visuals created by Harada as a source of inspiration, fragrance research will present the creation of fragrances, sensitivity research will present explanations of texture and sensation, and psychological research will present the results of psychological verification of music created by composer and music producer Cornish. In addition, from psychological research, the results of psychological verification of a song by composer and music producer Cornish are presented.

On Wednesday, October 20th, 2021, a live performance without an audience featuring composer/music producer Cornish, Harada, and Shiseido researchers, as well as scenes from the exhibition will be broadcast on the Shiseido official YouTube channel (free of charge).

LOUANE DEBUTS NEW SONG AND VIDEO – “GAME GIRL” – IN COLLABORATION WITH POKÉMON TO BE RELEASED ON AUGUST 27

Track Is Featured on ‘Pokémon 25: The Album’ Compilation, Set For Autumn 2021 Release on Capitol Records

Louane Joins P25 Music Lineup Alongside Katy Perry, Post Malone, J Balvin, Mabel, and More To Be Announced

Pokémon’s 25th anniversary celebration continues with the upcoming release of “Game Girl,” a new song from Island Def Jam recording artist Louane, who recorded it exclusively for the upcoming P25 Music compilation album. With its fun and infectious melody, the bilingual song describes the journey we all take through life with a friend or a partner as we figure out what’s right for us and how to be the best version of ourselves. It was written by Louane for the occasion, composed and produced by P3gase and mixed by Josh Gudwin.

The vibrant official video for “Game Girl” shows Louane surrounded by larger-than-life colors and backdrops meant to transport the viewer into her over-the-top imagination influenced by the ever-evolving world of Pokémon.

“Louane is an exciting addition to the growing roster of talented artists from around the world helping us celebrate 25 years of Pokémon,” said Colin Palmer, vice president of marketing, The Pokémon Company International. “‘Game Girl,’ with its French and English lyrics, is not only an amazing pop anthem for Pokémon Trainers, but also represents the global resonance of Pokémon with international fans.”

“Pokémon was one of my earliest childhood memories! I fell in love with Ash at first sight!” said Louane. “I didn’t hesitate at all when asked to join the P25 Music Program. It was really inspiring to have the opportunity to write a story based on what I experienced as a kid.”

Louane is the most recent artist to join the P25 Music Program alongside UK singer, Mabel, and American artists Vince Staples and Cyn—all of whom released original tracks earlier this month for Pokémon 25: The Red EP. EDM artist ZHU remixed those tracks for Pokémon 25: The Blue EP. The program also includes, Katy Perry, who contributed her original song, “Electric,” Post Malone, who put his own stamp on the Hootie & the Blowfish hit “Only Wanna Be With You” and J Balvin.

Celebrate adventuring by starlight with the lyrical version of Pokémon GO’s Night Theme!

Trainers, Have you had a chance to listen to the lyrical version of Pokémon GO’s Night Theme? This song has been playing in the game every night since Pokémon GO Fest 2021 ended!

The original song was created by Junichi Masuda, composer of many of Pokémon’s iconic video game songs, and the lyrical version was produced by Ed Goldfarb, composer of some music recently featured in the Pokémon anime series. The lyrical version features the vocals of Haven Paschall and Ben Dixon, who’ve previously lent their voices to the Pokémon anime series.

The song will play in the game during the night until Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time, so make sure to turn up the game’s volume to experience it firsthand. After the song leaves the game, you can listen to it via the YouTube video here.

Lyrics

We can share the beauty of the world tonight
Stars up in the sky will light the way
Every place we wander
Wonders will amaze us
See the mountains shimmer in the moonlit sky
Maybe they will show us where to GO

Rhythms of the ocean waves tell me my dream is real
You and I tonight will see our worlds align
The stars alight and with their light to guide me I know I will find you
So we can GO and make a brighter world
We can GO and make a brighter world

Credits

Composed by Junichi Masuda English lyrics by Ed Goldfarb
Vocals by Haven Paschall and Ben Dixon Produced by Ed Goldfarb
Production assistance by Alvin Maningding and Andrew Crilly
Mixed by Jeff Stuart Saltzman

We hope that this song’s lyrics will inspire you to keep GOing just as much as the past five years have inspired us. Be sure to turn up the volume in Pokémon GO when playing after the sun has set so you don’t miss out on hearing this tune before Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

Pokémon 25: The Red EP – FEATURING SONGS BY VINCE STAPLES, CYN and MABEL – OUT TODAY

ZHU Remixes All Three Tracks For Pokémon 25: The Blue EP, Out Later This Month
The Dual Releases Honor a Pokémon Tradition As 25th Anniversary Celebration Continues

Three new artists have joined Pokémon’s 25th anniversary celebration: Vince Staples, Cyn and ZHU. Staples and Cyn contribute exclusive new songs to Pokémon 25: The Red EP, which was released today. Available HERE, the EP also features Mabel’s song “Take It Home,” which was unveiled last month. View Pokémon 25: The Red EP visualizers on YouTube HERE.

Reflecting the longstanding tradition of dual releases for the core Pokémon video game series, with each featuring nuanced differences from the other, and paying homage to the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue video games, Pokémon 25: The Blue EP will follow later this month. It will feature remixes of The Red EP songs by GRAMMY-nominated recording artist ZHU, who is fresh off the release of his third album, DREAMLAND 2021, and a sold-out, six-night stand at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre.

The songs from The Red EP will appear on the upcoming P25 Music compilation album, which will be released this autumn by Capitol Records as part of a massive, yearlong music campaign from The Pokémon Company International in partnership with Universal Music Group. ZHU’s remixes will be included on the digital edition of the album. Vince Staples, Cyn and ZHU take their places alongside fellow P25 artists Katy Perry, Post Malone, J Balvin, and Mabel.

On the atmospheric, melodic “Got ‘Em,” Vince Staples faces life’s challenges head-on, drawing inspiration from iconic Pokémon characters Mew and Raichu. Staples recently released his self-titled, fourth album out now via Blacksmith Recordings/Motown Records. Garnering positive reviews from Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, NPR Music and NME among others, the LP debuted as the No. 1 Current Rap Album and landed at No. 21 on the Billboard 200 Chart week of release. Staples is also currently working on bringing his dramedy, The Vince Staples Show, to Netflix.

“I’ve always been a fan of Pokémon, so it was particularly special to be asked to take part in this 25th anniversary celebration," said Vince Staples. “I’m excited for people to hear ‘Got 'Em,’ and hope the song resonates with fans, especially those who grew up with Pokémon like I did.”

Cyn – who is signed to Katy Perry’s Unsub Records and recently contributed two songs to the soundtrack for the Oscar-winning film Promising Young Woman – offers up “Wonderful,” a shimmering song that celebrates friendship and the joy of being alive.

Cyn shares, “I am so excited to release one of my favorite songs I’ve ever written, ‘Wonderful,’ in celebration of 25 years of Pokémon! This song is special to me because I feel it comments on growing pains while also emphasizing a destination of grace and a beautiful journey to it— eggs hatch when they want to or in other words, when they are ready. When I wrote this song, my newborn baby son was in the room— I can hear the influence of becoming a new mother in the music, it will always ring special for me.”

“The Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue video games introduced the world to Pokémon 25 years ago and we wanted to recognize that important part of the franchise in our 25th anniversary celebrations within the P25 Music campaign,” said Colin Palmer, vice president of marketing, The Pokémon Company International. “Pokémon fans will appreciate the nod to the first Pokémon video games with these EPs, while music fans will enjoy new songs and remixes from exciting artists on these dual collections.”

The Red EP kicks off with “Take It Home,” an original song from BRIT Award recipient Mabel. PAPER Magazine noted, “to say it’s a bop would be a complete understatement…‘Take It Home’ is packed with bright and buoyant beats.” The official video, People Magazine observed, “finds the star chasing Jigglypuff into a Wonderland-style dreamworld full of colorful ensembles and pop star choreography.”

About Mabel

Image

In the last year or so alone, Mabel has won the BRIT Award for Best Female Solo Artist, surpassed four billion streams and 2.2 million adjusted album sales for first album, High Expectations – the biggest-selling debut by a British woman in 2019 – and added to her formidable catalogue of smash hits like “Don’t Call Me Up” with three more top 10s under lockdown. Futuristic, fearless and feel-good, her first single of 2021, “Let Them Know,” marked the unmistakable arrival of a new era and mindset for Mabel. If High Expectations documented a coming-of-age (and the fact you may actually spend a lifetime figuring it all out), her new material finds Mabel emboldened with experience. Her girl-next-door candor remains, but in embracing dance music’s generational ethos of expression, liberation and inclusion, you witness a woman moving firmly to her own beat. The Guardian hailed Mabel as a “warrior queen” and Vogue praised her as “unflinchingly honest, earnestly positive, and resolutely single-minded.”

About Cyn

Image

It's not every day that the girl next door winds up being signed by one of the world's biggest pop stars, but that once-in-a-lifetime scenario is exactly what happened when Cyn, who was born and raised in Detroit, met Katy Perry during a chance encounter. Katy fell head over heels for her voice, and quickly signed her to Unsub Records and publishing. Cyn now lives in Los Angeles, where she has devoted herself to writing over 400 songs, released a 7-song EP titled Mood Swing and has had original songs featured on award winning major motion picture soundtracks, including her songs “Uh Oh” and “Drinks” for the Oscar-winning film, Promising Young Woman. “Drinks” broke at Top 40 radio this past summer and has amassed over 20 million global streams to date. Billie Eilish added it to her Apple Music radio show, “me & dad radio,” and Rolling Stone hailed it as a “Song You Need To Know.” “Drinks” is also featured on the soundtrack for the new HBO Max series “Gossip Girl.” Cyn is the recipient of the 2020 ASCAP Songwriters Hall Of Fame scholarship and has big plans for 2021.

About Vince Staples

Image

Ever since Vince Staples introduced himself to the hip-hop world in 2014, he’s been known as a documentarian, filing first-person accounts of his teenage and 20-something days in Long Beach, California over booming beats that seesaw from edgy to spirited. Generally a private person, friends would often tell Vince that they learn new information about him through his music, encouraging him to reveal even more about himself. When he began to dig in and create his forthcoming album, the follow-up to his critically acclaimed 2018 album FM!, the award-winning rhymer took that into consideration. The result is Vince Staples, a tight project entirely produced by Kenny Beats. The self-titled 10-track album delves not only into his upbringing in Long Beach, but his psyche as he learns to cope with his yesterdays and strides toward new tomorrows, picking others up along the way. This album is intentional and melodic - an expression of a Vince Staples who knows what he wants and what he has. Vince Staples is just the beginning of Vince’s busy 2021. He’s currently working on bringing his dramedy, “The Vince Staples Show,” to Netflix, two new podcasts and a graphic novel with Z2 comics.

About ZHU

Image

ZHU is ready to move again. Most of his third album, DREAMLAND 2021, was made at home during quarantine, but as the GRAMMY-nominated musician and producer crafted the new set’s grimy techno and sweaty house tracks, he imagined the record as the score to a world starting to spin back into motion. He celebrated its release with an unprecedented sold-out, six-night run at Red Rocks Amphitheatre in Morrison, CO. ZHU was honored with a Best Dance Recording nomination at the 2014 GRAMMYs for his breakout hit “Faded.” His debut album GENERATIONWHY topped Billboard's Dance/Electronic albums chart and landed on the Billboard 200, and he’s had dozens of tracks hit the Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart. These accolades have earned him partnerships with like-minded brands including Luminosity and Leica. He continued his productive streak in 2020 with a series of singles—including “Only” with Tinashe, “Desire” with Bob Moses, and the Kito and Jeremih collab “Follow”—and a string of live-streams for Digital Mirage, Insomniac, and Lollapalooza. But all of this success has never been the point—ZHU just wanted to head to the dancefloor and dream up better worlds. DREAMLAND 2021 basks in that impulse. He imagines everyone united under one roof raving—a party with enough energy to take over the whole world.
The Pokémon Company International announced that UK artist Mabel will be joining the Pokémon 25: The Album Compilation with her new song Take It Home. High resolution images from the press release have been added to the Pokémon 25: The Album thread. Details of this single have been added to our Audio Database.

It was produced by Tommy Brown (Kanye West, Ariana Grande) and Mr. Franks (Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber). Listen to “Take It Home” HERE. The compilation album, which will be released this autumn by Capitol Records, is part of a massive, yearlong music campaign from The Pokémon Company International in partnership with Universal Music Group.

The playful official video for “Take It Home” finds Mabel trying to unwind in her hotel room after a busy day. Flipping through the channels on the television, she’s delighted to find a Pokémon channel. Comforted by the beloved characters, she falls asleep. In her dream, she follows a Jigglypuff down a hallway, and together they explore the hotel, which has been transformed into a dark yet sparkling dreamworld. Mabel takes the stage, joined by a troupe of dancers, and a Pikachu makes a cameo. View the video, which was directed by Sophia Ray (Ella Eyre, Little Mix, Amber Mark) and shot at London’s iconic Savoy Hotel, HERE.

“I’ve been a fan of Pokémon for years, so I jumped at the opportunity to join the P25 program,” Mabel said. “I had so much fun working with Pikachu and my all-time favorite Pokémon, Jigglypuff, for the ‘Take It Home’ video. I hope the fans love the song as much as I loved working on it to celebrate 25 years of Pokémon!”

“Mabel’s incredible talent and pop sensibilities add a massive layer of fun to Pokémon’s P25 Music campaign celebrating 25 years of Pokémon,” said Colin Palmer, vice president of marketing for The Pokémon Company International. “Music fans are going to love ‘Take It Home,’ and Pokémon fans will be delighted to see a Jigglypuff, known for being a bubbly Pokémon who also loves to sing, featured in Mabel’s vibrant video. It’s a pitch-perfect collaborative match for our 25th anniversary celebration.”

Mabel is the latest artist to join the P25 Music program, taking her place alongside Katy Perry, who contributed the new original song “Electric,” as well as Post Malone, who put his own stamp on the Hootie & the Blowfish hit “Only Wanna Be with You,” and J Balvin. Mabel recently released her first new single of 2021, “Let Them Know,” a spirited anthem about projecting confidence even in times of trouble.

About Mabel

KATY PERRY UNVEILS NEW SINGLE AND VIDEO—‘ELECTRIC’—IN COLLABORATION WITH POKÉMON

Track Is from ‘Pokémon 25: The Album’ Compilation, Set for Fall 2021 Release

Limited Edition ‘Electric’ Merchandise Line Launches Today

Pokémon’s 25th anniversary celebration continues with today’s release of iconic recording artist Katy Perry’s new single and video, “Electric.” Katy, whose love for all things Pokémon dates back to childhood, when she played the original video games on her Game Boy, created the track especially for Pokémon 25: The Album, which will be released this fall by Universal Music Group’s Capitol Records. “There’s no reason that this life can’t be electric,” sings Katy in the anthemic track, which celebrates the joy inherent in pursuing a dream, buoyed by the love and support of friends. Katy’s collaborators on the song include The Monsters & Strangerz and Jon Bellion – who teamed up with her on “Daisies,” a song from her new album, SMILE – and Bruce Wiegner. Listen to “Electric” here: http://katy.to/electricPR.

The official video for “Electric” — helmed by Carlos Lopez Estrada, who directed the Disney feature film Raya and the Last Dragon – received a YouTube Premiere with a fan watch party earlier today. The clip follows Katy and Pikachu as they take time out to enjoy nature and reflect on how they have evolved over the years. After a day of exploring, the pair stop at a lighthouse to meditate. Falling into a reverie, they’re taken back in time to the earliest days of Katy’s career. Thanks to encouragement from her friend Pichu, Katy goes from busking at a farmer’s market to her first club performance.

“When I visited the Pokémon Café while touring Japan, I got so nostalgic. It took me back to my junior high years. So when I got the call to be a part of the 25th anniversary celebration alongside Post Malone and J Balvin, I was elated,” says Katy Perry. “The song’s themes – resilience, igniting your inner light – have guided my life and also parallel Pokémon’s story and characters. Pikachu is the evolved form of Pichu, so in the video, you see the younger version of me with Pichu and myself in the present day with Pikachu. We both evolve, yet retain a sense of playfulness.”

“Katy Perry has created a vibrant anthem to help us celebrate 25 years of Pokémon with ‘Electric,’ an amazing song about recognizing one’s own journeys and evolving,” said Colin Palmer, vice president of marketing, The Pokémon Company International. “We also hope fans around the world enjoy seeing Pikachu team up with Katy in the music video for ‘Electric,’ which is a wonderful visual accompaniment to the inspirational song.”

A playful “Electric”-themed merchandise collection was also unveiled today. Explore the offerings of the limited edition line here: http://katy.to/electricmerchPR. It’s all part of P25 Music, a massive, yearlong music campaign from The Pokémon Company International in partnership with Universal Music Group.
