The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced that a new Pokémon Center and a Pokémon Cafe will open on Wednesday, March 14th, 2018 on the 5th floor of the Nihonbashi Takashimaya S.C. East Building. The Pokémon Center Tokyo DX and Pokémon Cafe (ポケモンセンタートウキョーDX ＆ ポケモンカフェ) location will be the first permanent cafe to open and patrons will be able to buy Pokémon food and drinks anytime now! Pokémon Center Tokyo DX goods will be available for the opening as well as fun events! Parking is very limited at this location and it is recommended to use public transport. It is only a 5 minute walk from JR Tokyo Station from the Yaesu North exit. Full opening celebration details were later announced.

A new section to the Pokémon Center Tokyo Bay will open on Saturday, September 16th, 2017 called the Pokémon Card Station (ポケモンカードステーション). This permanent section of the store will allow visitors to enjoy the Pokémon Card Game easily. People who want to battle, people who want to know about the products, people who want to know rules, ect, can go there. It is a great place to comfortably and enjoyably play the Pokémon Card Game.

Three features of Pokémon Card Station:

Part 1 - Daily Card Events held: From casual events to highly competitive events, various card events are held everyday. Of course it is a dedicated space so you can enjoy a free match. Also, special limited time events to the Pokémon Card Station will be scheduled.

Part 2 - A lot of Pokémon Cards: Since the Pokémon Card Station is in the Pokémon Center, there is an abundance of Pokémon Card Game related goods such as deck shields, play mats, deck cases, including the latest items.

Pikachu, Kiteruguma and Mimikyu have been invited to the Ghost type Pokémon party! Alternate-colored Mimikyu gifts and campaigns to get special clear cards will take place, as well as Pikachu dressed in a Halloween costume while greeting visitors is a must-see! To commemorate the 20th anniversary of the Pocket Monsters Special Manga, the Pokémon Center will be releasing the Pocket Monster SPECIAL 20th Anniversary Data Book PokéSPedia (ポケットモンスターSPECIAL　20thアニバーサリーデータブック　ポケSPedia) on August 8th, 2017. The book contains: the Story of each chapter from Chapter 1 to Chapter 14, Character profiles, World View Guide, a Pokémon Zukan, a dictioary and a Character correlation diagram.

The Pokémon Center will also release a gorgeous limited edition version with a special art piece! It's in a paper frame and the illustration is of Red and Pikachu drawn by Mato and Satoshi Yamamoto.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced that the Pokémon GO Plus Exclusive Ring Option (Pokémon GO Plus 専用 リングオプション) will go on sale on July 15th, 2017 for 400 yen only at the Pokémon Centers, Pokémon Stores and the Pokémon Center Online. The ring attaches to the back of a Pokémon GO Plus and when you put your finger through the ring, it allows you to easily operate a Pokémon GO Plus with the palm of your hand. From July 15th, 2017 on-wards, those that purchase the Pokémon GO Plus from the Pokémon Center, they will get the Pokémon GO Plus Exclusive Ring.


Those that purchase a Pokémon GO Plus and/or the Exclusive Ring Option will also get a sticker sheet that has decals featuring a Great Ball, Ultra Ball and Master Ball which can be placed on the front of a Pokémon GO Plus.

On April 28th, 2017, the official site announced that the Pokémon Center Tohoku would move to the Sendai PARCO Main Building 8th Floor. The Pokémon Center Tohoku located on the 3rd Level of Shop and Wonder AER will close on Sunday, June 18th, 2017 at 20:00 JST. The Eievui and Colorful Friends (イーブイとカラフルフレンズ) campaign will be held from May 13th, 2017 until July 17th, 2017 at the Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores nationwide in Japan. There are lots of fun events such as presents visitors can get when they come to the stores. In addition, the Pokémon Center Mega Tokyo and Pokémon Center Osaka will have photo spots setup where visitors can take photos with life-size Eievui and its evolutions. Eievui and its evolutions headbands, tails and gloves will also be available to dress up into to take pictures with them on.
