Further details about the opening celebration of the Pokémon Center Kyoto have been announced by official Japanese Pokémon website.

From March 16th, 2016 until April 24th, 2016, players of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire can receive an alternate-colored Ho-oh. No details of the Ho-oh were announced though.

Kuge and Maiko Pikachu TCG Card

For shoppers that buy at least 5 booster packs as of March 16th, 2016 until supplies last, they will receive the special promo card Kuge and Maiko Pikachu (お公家さまと舞妓はんピカチュウ) 221/XY-P as a present.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced that to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the launch of Pokémon Red and Green, GAME FREAK Director Junichi Masuda will be visiting some of the Pokémon Centers in Japan for autograph sessions and to distribute his Koduck.

Those that are selected via lottery will receive a special Clear Card (特製クリアカード) which can be used to get Masuda's autograph and features the artwork from GAME FREAK's New Year 2016 Pokémon 20th anniversary card.

Masuda's Koduck will be distributed to players of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire but only on the days and at the Pokémon Centers listed below. Those shopping at the Pokémon Centers can also get a pack of Pokémon Center Original Pocket Tissues which features pictures of the 151 Pokémon that were in Pokémon Red and Green.

Nintendo has announced that a Splatfest being held from Friday February 19th, 2016 until Saturday February 20th, 2016 at 10PM PT for players of the Nintendo Wii U game Splatoon. Players can vote for their favorite games: Pokémon Red or Pokémon Blue in North America and Europe and Pokémon Red or Pokémon Green in Japan. Players will also temporarily get an in-game T-Shirt with artwork that features Charizard, Venusaur or Blastoise.

BREAKING NEWS! We’ve just learned that the next Splatfest is being presented by none other than… drumroll, please… Pokémon!

Head to the Inkopolis Plaza and select which game is your favorite: Pokémon Red or Pokémon Blue!

This Splatfest will begin on February 19 at 10:00 PM PT and will run until February 20 at 10:00 PM PT.

This Splatfest will also happen simultaneously around the world. Like any other Splatfest, however, players you get matched with will be from your region, and the results will also be tallied by each region.

By the way, did you know that in Japan the first Pokémon game was released in a “Red Version” and a “Green Version,” but in North America and Europe, the two versions were “Red Version” and “Blue Version.” So for this Splatfest, in North America, it will be “Red vs Blue.”

The official Japanese Pokémon website also announced another cross-game promotion. The Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green T-Shirts featuring the artwork of Lizardon and Fushigibana will also be available for purchase as real life clothing items at all the Pokémon Centers starting on Saturday, February 20th, 2016.

To promote the reopening of the Pokémon Center Online website in Japan, the official Japanese Pokémon website has announced that for a limited time, a Pokémon Center Online Pikachu (ポケモンセンターオンラインのピカチュウ) will be distributed to first time shoppers. A Pikachu Thank You Card (ピカチュウのサンクスカード) will be included with shoppers orders that includes a serial code to unlock the Pikachu in Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. There is a limited number of cards but the present campaign will run from Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 until Sunday, May 22nd, 2016. Serial codes can be redeemed until August 31st, 2016.

Pikachu is level 10 and knows the moves: Surf, Fly, Agility and Celebrate.

The official announcement for the Pokémon Center Online (ポケモンセンターオンライン) was posted on the official Japanese Pokémon website on February 5th, 2016. Most physical Pokémon Center locations had posters up since early January 2016 announcing the new service. The website will open at 10am on Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 at https://www.pokemoncenter-online.com/.

In 2012, the Amazon Japan Pokémon Store was opened. That store will also be available for purchases online. The Pokémon Center Online originally opened in the early 2000's but the service did not last too long.

What is the Pokémon Center Online?

The Pokémon Center Online is the official shop for the Pokémon Centers. Original toys and miscellaneous goods such as stationery are available to purchase. In addition, it offers limited goods and will also have gift campaigns.

Those that sign-up for the membership before February 14th, 2016 at 23:59 will receive 100 PokéPoints (ポケポイント). The form to sign-up is available on the website for users to register.

The First Series: Pokémon Red and Green Campaign

From February 16th, 2016 at 10:00 until March 18th, 2016 at 23:59, patrons can purchase a GYM BADGES OF KANTO set for 19440 yen. It is a display case with the badges from the Pokémon Red and Green games. It will be delivers in mid-June 2016.

Shopping Present

During the Pokémon Red and Green Campaign, those that purchase at least 5000 yen worth of merchandise including tax will receive one of three different A4 sized Original Document Cases (オリジナルドキュメントケース) featuring Pokémon Center Online artwork.

Free Shipping

For those that order at least 3000 yen worth of merchandise during the Pokémon Red and Green Campaign will receive free shipping on their order. The normal purchase plateau to receive free shipping though will be 5000 yen.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced that on March 16th, 2016, the Pokémon Center Kyoto (ポケモンセンターキョウト) will open in the Takashimaya Kyoto Store. It will be the 10th operating Pokémon Center to open in Japan. The mascots for the location will be Pikachu and Ho-oh. The Pokémon Center Kyoto will stock all the normal goods and merchandise that other the Pokémon Center and Pokémon Stores carry. Further details about opening festivities will be announced closer to the opening date.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced that an A4 Pokémon 20th anniversary Clear File with the artwork from the 2016 Game Freak New Years card will be available to purchase at the Pokémon Centers for 240yen starting on January 9th, 2016.

From January 1st, 2016 until June 30th, 2016, an Event Pokémon Campaign is being held at the Pokémon Center Hiroshima. Each month a new Pokémon is being distributed for players of the Japanese versions of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. During this period, the Pokémon Center Hiroshima will also be holding events for family and friends to have fun. Players that received these event Pokémon in the past from their previous distributions could also receive these Pokémon.

The official Japanese Pokémon webiste announced the details for Pikachu Mega Campaign Part 2 (強★カワ ピカチュウのメガキャンペーン第2弾) which will took place at the Pokémon Centers in January of 2016. Details of the first part of the campaign are available by clicking here.

From January 1st, 2016 until January 31st, 2016, players of Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire can receive 1 of 5 different Pokémon at random each period. There were 5 separate distributions periods, so players could return to try and get one of the other Pokémon. Tabunne, Lucario, Tyltalis, Yadoran and Yamirami where the distributed Pokémon, each of which could Mega Evolve from the Mega Stone they were holding.

Period 1: January 1st, 2016 until January 8th, 2016
Period 2: January 9th, 2016 until January 15th, 2016
Period 3: January 16th, 2016 until January 22nd, 2016

Poncho Pikachu Figures

Pokémon Card Game Limited Goods

Various Pokémon Trading Card Game goods will be available for a limited time in January 2016 only at the Pokémon Centers and are unattainable elsewhere. A box set of card shields featuring the artwork of Pikachu wearing Ponchos was available.

Business Cards and Events

Various business cards featuring the Pikachu wearing Ponchos were available while supplies lasted to patrons of the stores. Poncho wearing Pikachu mascots also appeared to allow people to take pictures with them.
