The red and white Poké Ball is the most iconic model and typically the first tool a Trainer receives to catch wild Pokémon

The Poké Ball is the hallmark of aspiring trainers everywhere. This remarkable device is an essential part of a trainer’s equipment, required first to catch a Pokémon and then as a place for it to reside in comfort when not helping its trainer on their adventures.

While the advanced mechanics by which a Poké Ball captures and houses a Pokémon are mysterious and unknown to our technology, we know that they are activated by a button on the front of the ball. Each Poké Ball is special in its own way, made especially for you to collect

Below you’ll find details of all the premium replica Mini Poké Balls that have been released into the wild ready for you to collect and own.

Frequently-asked questions

Look down this list of frequently-asked questions to find answers that will help you if you are thinking of buying a Mini Poké Ball and want to learn more about how it works and what is included in the pack.

Are the Poké Balls accurate?
Yes. We designed the Mini Poké Ball using all available references and took advice and guidance from The Pokémon Company International (TPCi). The dimensions, colour, size and weight of the Mini Poké Balls have been officially approved by Pokémon.

What is the Mini Poké Ball made from?
The Mini Poké Ball is made from a mix of materials. The outer shell halves are precision-made die cast zinc which has been polished and then finished with a high-quality lacquer. The black band and white button, and much of the internal geometry needed to hold the electronics and batteries, are ABS – an engineering-grade injection moulded plastic.

How much does the Mini Poké Ball weigh?
The Mini Poké Ball weighs 80 g (2.8 oz).

How big are the Mini Poké Ball and Display Stand?
The Mini Poké Ball has a diameter of 40 mm (~1.57″).
The Display Stand is 67 x 67 x 27 mm (~2.64 x 2.64 x 1.06″).
The whole merchandising pack, containing Display Stand and Mini Poké Ball is 100 x 100 x 100 mm (~3.94 x 3.94 x 3.94″).

What is the Mini Display Stand made from?
The majority of the Display Stand is made from ABS, an engineering-grade injection moulded plastic. There is a metal touch plate sensor behind the front upper surface of the Display Stand and rubber inserts hold the token and the SIM pin Mini Poké Ball opening tool securely in place. The metal Display Token is silver-plated zinc.

What does the proximity and touch sensing do?
The Mini Poké Ball’s button light illuminates as your hand approaches the ball. The button light glows brighter as your hand gets nearer. If you touch both halves of the Mini Poké Ball at the same time, the button light glows at its brightest.

The Display Stand has a touch-sensitive upper front surface which is used to control the Display Stand’s lighting effects. Using the touch interface you can select different colours for the illumination ring and the Pokémon logo backlight.

What is the best way to display my Mini Poké Ball?
That’s up to you. You can display the Mini Poké Ball in a number of ways:

On its display stand
When the Mini Poké Ball is placed on the Display Stand it automatically illuminates the Mini Poké Ball.

On the display token
The display token is not only a collectible but is provided so that the Mini Poké Ball may be displayed on any suitable level surface.

On its own
The Mini Poké Ball is specially weighted so that when placed on any level surface it will come to rest the correct way up. Take care not to place it on any abrasive surfaces or the paint finish may be damaged.

IMPORTANT
Take care always to display the mini Poké Ball on a secure and level surface where it will not be knocked. Even though it is small, as it is made from metal parts, it is still heavy and will be damaged if dropped and may injure someone if it falls on them.

The Mini Poké Ball is not a toy – it is a premium display piece. Always display the Mini Poké Ball out of reach of small children. Never throw the Mini Poké Ball.

Which other versions will you release and when?
The Mini Poké Ball is being released in time for Pokémon Day, 27th February 2024, and there will be four more Mini Poké Balls released throughout 2024: Mini Great Ball, Mini Ultra Ball, Mini Cherish Ball, and Mini Premier Ball (and one full-sized Beast Ball). Check with your chosen retailer or follow us on Facebook and Instagram to find out when the balls are due to be released.

Are batteries included?
Yes. The ball uses 2 x CR2032 batteries. The base uses 3 x AAA alkaline batteries. Batteries are included and are pre-installed inside the ball and the base. The user manual contains instructions for replacing the batteries.

Can I throw my Mini Poké Ball?
No, this Mini Poké Ball must never be thrown. It might be small, but as it is made from metal it is heavy and could injure someone. This Mini Poké Ball is not a toy – it is a collector’s display piece, designed for display only. It has a premium finish, is made of heavy die-cast metal and should be handled with care.

Does the Mini Poké Ball open?
No, this Mini Poké Ball does not open up.

The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero epilogue is available to play now. To play it, you will first need to complete a certain postgame event in your Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game, as well as complete the stories of Part 1: The Teal Mask and Part 2: The Indigo Disk. Once you’ve received your gift, head to Mossui Town in the land of Kitakami and drop by Peachy’s – the alluring aroma of your Mythical Pecha Berry might cause something special to happen...

Pecharunt

What appeared to be a mere shop decoration was actually Pecharunt – dormant, but patiently waiting to be reawakened.

This Pokémon rolls up poison secreted from its shell to make Binding Mochi, which it serves to people and Pokémon. Pecharunt then uses chains to control those who eat its Binding Mochi, which is not only delicious but also appears to draw out the deepest desires and latent powers of those who eat it. Pecharunt can also be very sly. For example, it will feign weakness by weeping and acting like a baby to gain the sympathy of others. There is a theory that long ago, Pecharunt travelled to the land of Kitakami together with the Loyal Three, each of whom it had subjugated using its Binding Mochi – all to obtain certain masks coveted by an elderly couple who cared for Pecharunt.

Pecharunt found itself embroiled in battle with Ogerpon over the masks – ultimately resulting in Pecharunt’s defeat. It withdrew into its shell and, over time, became known to the locals as the Never-Rotting Peach.

This Ability causes Pokémon that are poisoned or badly poisoned by Pecharunt’s moves to also become confused. Episode 4 of Pokémon: Paldean Winds Now Available

Go on a Pokémon-filled adventure through the Paldea region. The final episode of Pokémon: Paldean Winds, a four-episode original animated web series, is available now on the official Pokémon YouTube channel. The series is produced by WIT STUDIO, the animation studio behind the award-winning Pokémon: Hisuian Snow web series. Pokémon: Paldean Winds is set in the Paldea region and tells the story of three academy students—Ohara, Aliquis, and Hohma—as they pursue their respective dreams with their partner Pokémon at their side.

Director Clavell asks the trio to make a video for the new first-year students and transfer students to showcase what makes the academy so special. The video comes to life through their ideas. It features an arrangement of the school song by the world-famous rapper Ryme and an introduction to the region’s Gym Leaders by Iono, as well as the wonders of Paldea seen by the three students during their Treasure Hunts—everyday moments at the academy, beautiful landscapes, and the people and Pokémon living in the region. The result is a treasure of a video with a scope that extends beyond the academy walls and across the whole of Paldea. And the time for its big unveiling has finally arrived.

Be sure to watch the first three episodes—“Breathe Out,” “Breathe In,” and “Take a Breath”—before taking in the riveting finale.

The Pokémon: Paldean Winds series is inspired by the Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet video games. To celebrate all things Paldea, be sure to watch the episode to discover a password that you can use to receive a special Gimmighoul in your Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet game!

NEW WAYS TO PLAY AND MORE EXCITING DETAILS ANNOUNCED FOR THE HIDDEN TREASURE OF AREA ZERO PART 2: THE INDIGO DISK

The Second Chapter of the DLC for Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet Launches December 14

London, United Kingdom —December 7, 2023—Today, The Pokémon Company International announced more details about The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk DLC for the Pokémon Scarlet or Pokémon Violet video games. The Indigo Disk launches exclusively on the Nintendo Switch family of systems on December 14, 2023.

The Synchro Machine

Once players progress far enough in their adventure in The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk, they’ll be able to use a device called the Synchro Machine to see the world through the eyes of their Pokémon. While synchronized with one of their Pokémon, they’ll be able to move around and battle wild Pokémon—a fresh new way to play the game. It appears that this device is still a prototype. Players will be able to use it once they’ve helped a scientist in the Terarium with her research.

The Power of Flight

The Legendary Pokémon Koraidon or Miraidon will gain the power to fly for the first time when Trainers take on the Elite Trial set by Amarys of the BB League Elite Four. While at first this power is believed to be only temporarily imparted, it can apparently be made permanent, allowing Koraidon and Miraidon to fly at any time—but only once players have made it far enough in their adventure. Trainers will be able to fly wherever they please with their Legendary Pokémon and enjoy the sense of freedom that only an open world can provide.

After completing the main story of The Hidden Treasure of Area Zero Part 2: The Indigo Disk, Trainers can meet a curious character named Snacksworth at Blueberry Academy. By completing Blueberry Quests (BBQs) in the Terarium, Trainers can earn snacks from Snacksworth that will allow them to encounter certain Legendary Pokémon from throughout the series back in the Paldea region! He’ll also share his extensive knowledge about these Pokémon with Trainers—as well as tall tales of his own heroic encounters with them.
