Johto fans, this one is for you! The next wave of limited edition Pokémon skateboard decks from Bear Walker are available at Pokémon Center UK, featuring Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile! High resolution photos from the press release have been added to an Imageboard thread.

Pokémon Center UK and Bear Walker Announce Brand-New Limited Edition Skateboard Designs Featuring Johto First Partner Pokémon Chikorita, Cyndaquil and Totodile

London, United Kingdom – 24 May 2023 — Following the popular release of the Pichu, Pikachu and Raichu custom skateboard decks by industry craftsman Bear Walker earlier this year, The Pokémon Company International announced today that three new limited edition skateboard designs featuring the first partner Pokémon from Johto are now available exclusively at Pokémon Center in the UK.

image

Each skateboard deck features a built-in textured surface and natural wood accents that complement a bold design of Chikorita, Cyndaquil or Totodile, who fans will remember from the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games that originally launched in 2001 in Europe. Complete with stunning backgrounds that match each Pokémon’s type and limited to just 250 units of each design, the skateboard decks also ship with decorative numbered cards and two wall mounts for display.

“I loved the Johto region as a child for how it expanded the Pokémon world on from the original Pokémon Red and Pokémon Blue games and introduced so many fun and interesting Pokémon,” Bear Walker said. “As Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver were so important to me, I wanted to do something fresh and exciting for this collection. We have completely reworked the entire board, right down to the shape and handles, while still having the focus of the design being on the Pokémon themselves to let them shine.”

The TOKYO FLOWER CARPET 2023 was held from May 20th, 2023 to May 22nd, 2023 on Gyoko-dori in Marunouchi, Tokyo. As part of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s arts and culture creation subsidy project, the Hanae Culture Association aims to create a new landscape with Tokyo as the capital of flower paintings. The theme of the exhibition is "Flowers have no borders!"

Flower painter Yasuhiko Fujikawa, who has been creating flower paintings all over the world, created four flower paintings (about 300 ㎡) with 70,000 roses and Gyoko-dori Avenue was covered with a carpet of roses. The original designs are a fusion of traditional Ukiyo-e works with a modern flare, and the Hana-Kabuki works will be presented in a new style, the first of its kind in the world.

Image

The main work is Pokémon Suzumi (ぽけもんのすずみ), a collaboration with The Pokémon Company and Japanese-style painter Akira Shiozaki. It is based on the work Cat Suzumi (猫のすずみ) by Kuniyoshi Utagawa, an Ukiyo-e artist active in the late Edo period and known for his love of cats. Please enjoy the world of Pokémon based in Ukiyo-e, in which a male and female Pikachu enjoy boating.

Junichi Masuda was in attendance to promote the flower painting and he posted a few pictures on his Twitter feed. High resolution pictures of the flower display have been added to an Imageboard thread.

[3] Limited to moves that can be learned in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl (some moves excluded), Pokémon Legends: Arceus, and Pokémon Scarlet and Pokémon Violet.

BYD Japan has delivers two J6 compact EV buses to Mie Kotsu and they have started operation on the Tsujikuru/Fujisato Line, Shikaumi/Asama Line, Futami Line, Higashi Oyodo/Akeno/Omata Line, as community buses on April 24th, 2023 in Ise City.

The EV buses that are operated by Mie Kotsu were designed by The Pokémon Company. The EV buses are wrapped with designs of Electric-type Pokémon, including Mijumaru, which has been appointed as a Mie Support Pokémon. The EV buses will be powered by Mie Umashikuni Green Electricity, a renewable energy source provided by Chubu Electric Power Company. Compared with ordinary electricity, this electricity is expected to reduce CO2 by approximately 29 tons per year by creating energy derived from the hydroelectric power plants located in the Kushida River and Miya River and other water systems in Mie Prefecture.

image

BYD has delivered a total of approximately 90,000 EV buses globally and has been a driving force behind the electrification of public transportation around the world, and BYD Japan, BYD's Japanese subsidiary, became the first Chinese automaker to deliver EV buses in Japan in 2015. Since then, BYD Japan has been playing a key role in the transportation infrastructure throughout Japan with the J6, a small EV bus for the Japanese market, and the K8, a large 10.5-meter EV bus that is ideal for use as a route bus.
