A new promotion video for the anime TV series Pocket Monsters, which airs on the TV Tokyo Network Fridays at 6:55) got released on April 23rd, 2021. Hiroshi Kamiya (神谷浩史) will be playing Tsurugi (ツルギ) and Ryoko Shiraishi (白石涼子) will be playing Asahi (アサヒ), two people involved with a project concerning the mythical Pokémon Mew, indicating that the double protagonists Satoshi and Go will be making progress on their dreams. High resolution images from the press release have been added to an Imageboard thread.

In this new part of the Pokémon anime, Satoshi and Go visit the Okido Laboratories in Masara Town for the first time in quite a while. There, they learn from Professor Okido that "Project Mew", a team that will be making a full-scale search for Mew, is recruiting members. Satoshi also learns that the Goukazaru he left in the care of the Okido Laboratories hasn't shown itself recently, so he decides to go look for it together with Go. And believe it or not, along the way they encounter Satoshi's childhood friend and rival Shigeru. He's returned to the Kanto region for "a certain reason", and it seems this reason involves the legendary Pokémon Fire...

ShigeruFire

In the video, the legendary Pokémon Wulaosu (Single Strike Style) appears for the first time. We get to see a battle unfold between two legendary Pokémon powerhouses as Wulaosu lands a powerful single strike on the legendary Pokémon Regice.

RegiceWulaosu

In addition, Satoshi, who registered for the Pokémon World Championships because he wanted to get a battle against Dande, the Greatest of Them All, attempts a battle against his former travel companion Iris. The clips we're shown gives us great expectations, showing us among other things, an Iris that seems to have continued to improve her skills alongside her Partner Pokémon even after concluding her travels with Satoshi, rising all the way to becoming Champion of the Isshu region.

Image

Kamiya, who plays the role of Tsurugi, tells us the following: "I have been in both the TV and movie series once before, but now that I get to provide the voice of Tsurugi, it seems I'm going to become a resident of the Pokémon world on a far greater level! This makes me really happy! Not only that, but the name of the project Tsurugi is involved with is "Project Mew"... so in other words, if the adventure continues on like this, we may get to meet Mew one day! Please stay tuned for that moment!"

Kamiyatranslation

Shiraishi, who plays Asahi, had the following to say: "You know, when I was recording this role, I had to go to the same studio where I once played the role of Agehunt in "Pocket Monsters Advanced Generation" back when I was rookie. My starting point. I'm supposed to be much more experienced now than I was back then, but I was still really nervous that day! However, I'm relieved I was able to finish with a smile once the dubbing session actually got started! I'm really happy I get to set foot in the Pokémon world once again! Will Go get one step closer to completing his objective of getting the mythical Pokémon Mew?! Make sure to see what's going to happen with "Project Mew".

The recent resurgence in popularity of the Pokémon Trading Card in combination with the 25th Anniversary TCG sets being released, has made obtaining Pokémon Trading Cards very hard. Scalping prices have made it very unaffordable for many to get cards. As a way to combat this issue, The Pokémon Company has announced that they will be reprinting products. This should help devalue currently scalped TCG prices and make the cards less desirable to scalpers.

Twitter Statement - Play Pokémon (@playpokemon)

Update on Pokémon Trading Card Game Product Availability

We’re aware that some of you are experiencing difficulties purchasing certain Pokémon Trading Card Game products due to very high demand and global shipping constraints impacting availability. We understand this inconvenience can be disappointing for fans, and we are working to address it where it is within our control.

In situations where there is limited availability, we are actively working to print more of the impacted Pokémon TCG products as quickly as possible and at maximum capacity to support this increased demand. Reprinted products are expected to be available at retailers as soon as possible.

For new Pokémon TCG expansions launching in the future, we are maximizing production to increase product availability upon release, and we will continue to reprint the products to replenish stock at retailers as soon as possible.

We’d like to thank the community for their continued support and patience as we work to deliver more Pokémon TCG products to fans.

The action is about to heat up in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield when you head into a Smyths Toys store from 25 September to 25 October 2020. While there, you can receive a code that allows you to claim a special Dynamax Crystal in the game. This Dynamax Crystal lets you encounter and battle a Gigantamax Centiskorch in a Max Raid Battle in the Galar region's Wild Area. Defeat this Fire- and Bug-type Pokémon for a chance to catch it and add it to your party!

Use these steps, along with your code, to receive your Dynamax Crystal.

Then, follow these steps to face Gigantamax Centiskorch in a Max Raid Battle.*

  1. Go to the Watchtower Lair, a large Pokémon Den that lies at the base of the Watchtower Ruins in the Wild Area.
  2. When you're in front of the Watchtower Lair, select the Dynamax Crystal in your Bag and choose to use it. A large pillar of light will appear coming from the Watchtower Lair.
  3. Press the A Button to investigate the active den and choose to challenge the Gigantamax Centiskorch within. You can invite other players to join you or start the battle with NPC Trainers.
  4. All participants in the battle will have a chance to catch Gigantamax Centiskorch after it's defeated.
*You'll need to reach the Wild Area in the game in order to use a Dynamax Crystal. (This occurs after about two hours of gameplay, though individual gameplay time may vary). Watchtower Ruins is located to the northwest of the Meetup Spot. Please check the direction using your Town Map on the in-game menu. It's recommended that your party Pokémon be over Lv. 30 before you attempt this challenge.

You'll be able to attempt this Max Raid Battle as many times as it takes to win until midnight on the day the Dynamax Crystal was used. You can use the code for this Dynamax Crystal in only one game and save data. Please remember that you can't receive the reward more than once.

September and October Community Day voting is coming! Will Charmander, Caterpie, Grimer, or Porygon be the winner?

Trainers, Pokémon GO Community Day voting is back! From August 22 to August 23, you’ll be able to vote via Twitter for the Pokémon you’d like featured! The two Pokémon that receive the most votes will go on to be featured during the next two Community Day events, with the Pokémon with the most votes featured in September and the runner-up in October!

Community Day candidates
Your Community Day candidates will be Charmander, Caterpie, Grimer, and Porygon. Here are the exclusive attacks that would be featured for each Pokémon’s Community Day.

  • Charmander: Evolve Charmeleon (the evolved form of Charmander) to get Charizard that know the Dragon-type attack Dragon Breath. Dragon Breath gives Charizard a Fast Attack that dishes out damage quickly, and the attack is super effective against Dragon-type Pokémon.
  • Caterpie: Evolve Metapod (the evolved form of Caterpie) to get Butterfree that know the Flying-type attack Hurricane. Hurricane offers Butterfree a powerful Flying-type Charged Attack to further strengthen its matchups against Fighting-, Grass-, and Bug-type Pokémon.
  • Grimer: Grimer originally discovered in the Kanto region will appear in the wild and hatch from Eggs. Alolan Grimer will appear in Raid Battles. Evolve Grimer or Alolan Grimer to get Muk or Alolan Muk that know the Fire-type attack Fire Punch. Fire Punch would be the first Fire-type attack available for Muk and Alolan Muk, giving them a Charged Attack option that not only charges quickly but also hits Steel-type Pokémon for supereffective damage.
  • Porygon: Evolve Porygon2 (the evolved form of Porygon) to get Porygon-Z that know the Normal-type attack Tri Attack. This attack will be new to Pokémon GO and, when used, will have a chance of decreasing the opposing Pokémon’s Attack and Defense.
Featured bonuses and more Community Day details will be announced at a later date.

How to vote
We’ll post a poll on our official English-language Pokémon GO Twitter on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7), and you’ll be able to cast your vote until Sunday, August 23, 2020, at 6:00 p.m. PDT (GMT −7). You’ll have 24 hours to cast one vote for the Pokémon you’d like to see most for either September or October Community Day. The winners will be announced shortly after voting ends. The Pokémon that receives the most votes by the end of the voting period will be the featured Pokémon for September Community Day on Sunday, September 20, 2020. The Pokémon that receives the second-most votes will be featured during October Community Day on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

Make your voices heard, Trainers. It’s time for you to choose which Pokémon you want as the featured Pokémon for the September and October Community Day events. Be sure to campaign for the Pokémon you most want to be chosen, and use #PokemonGOCommunityDay when doing so! Let’s GO!

POKÉMON ANNOUNCES NEW GAMES, MOBILE APPS, AND MORE

New Game Reveals Coincide with Launch of The Isle of Armor Downloadable Content for Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield

Bellevue, WA—June 17, 2020—Today, Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company, unveiled a broad range of new video games, apps, and more during a Pokémon Presents video presentation. These experiences will enable players everywhere to interact with Pokémon in a variety of new ways. The Isle of Armor, the first set of content in the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and the Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass, also launches today worldwide. This downloadable content for the blockbuster Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield video games is available for purchase in Nintendo eShop and allows Trainers to continue their adventures in the Galar region.

Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Expansion Passes: The Isle of Armor The first new adventure unlocked by the Expansion Passes takes place on the Isle of Armor, an island of the Galar region. The New Pokémon Snap game for the Nintendo Switch system is based on its namesake, which was first released for the Nintendo 64 console in 1999. This game will take Trainers on an adventure to unknown islands overflowing with natural sights such as jungles and beaches, where they can research various Pokémon in their natural habitats. They will take photos to make their very own in-game Pokémon Photodex, all while discovering new, never-before-seen Pokémon expressions and behaviors.

For more information about New Pokémon Snap, please visit Pokemon.com/NewPokemonSnap.

Pokémon Café Mix

logo

Pokémon Café Mix is a free-to-start game for Nintendo Switch systems and mobile devices. Starting today, Trainers can preload Pokémon Café Mix in Nintendo eShop, preorder the app in the App Store, or preregister the app on Google Play.

Pokémon Café Mix is a unique puzzle game where players can link Pokémon icons together by swirling them around. To link icons, players will need to grab a Pokémon icon and drag it next to another icon of the same Pokémon species. Icons will be cleared after they are linked together.

The player will be the owner of a café that Pokémon visit, where they will work alongside Pokémon to prepare drinks and dishes for Pokémon customers by completing puzzles. Pokémon on the café’s staff have special Café Skills that can be used to help complete puzzles. Once a puzzle is completed, the player can serve an order to a customer. The player can increase their friendship levels with Pokémon by serving them delicious drinks and dishes. As more puzzles are completed, the café can be upgraded by getting new tools or having new areas added. New Pokémon may come visit, lured in by the different upgrades.

Pokémon GO

In collaboration with Niantic, The Pokémon Company announced that Mega-Evolved Pokémon will appear in the real world in Pokémon GO. Fans can look forward to experiencing a new take on Mega Evolution that takes advantage of Pokémon GO’s unique gameplay.

Pokémon Smile

Image

With Pokémon Smile, Pokémon continues to expand its app offerings for younger children by incorporating the world of Pokémon into the everyday task of brushing your teeth. The app is a unique new mobile experience for the Pokémon brand that makes brushing your teeth a fun activity and encourages kids to develop good brushing habits. Pokémon Smile is available for download beginning today at no cost in the App Store and on Google Play.

Pokémon Smile uses a mobile device’s camera to observe the player’s toothbrushing activity. If the player skillfully brushes their teeth, they can defeat cavity-causing bacteria depicted in the game and then catch Pokémon. The game will guide the user through the toothbrushing process, so each playthrough can help them brush all areas in their mouth.

Parents can receive notifications from Pokémon Smile at up to three set times per day that remind them it’s time for kids to brush their teeth. They can also set the duration of each toothbrushing session to be between one and three minutes, based on the varying needs of children of different ages. The app is filled with elements to encourage the player to continue playing the game with the intent of slowly building a habit of brushing their teeth. Players will want to keep coming back to catch over one hundred species of Pokémon in Pokémon Smile and fill out their in-app Pokédex. They can also collect fun in-app decorative headwear to display on themselves virtually as they brush their teeth.

Niantic has announced that they have disabled GO Battle League until further notice, as they’re investigating a serious exploit.

Image

Note to Trainers Regarding GO Battle League Exploit

Trainers, we want to comment on the various “exploit” posts from the past two days and the underlying situation.

As a team, we believe there is a “contract of trust” in GO Battle League: you should always feel your knowledge and skill determine the outcome of your battles. Cheating directly attacks this trust contract, and we have zero tolerance for it.

Because of this zero tolerance policy and the current situation, we’ve disabled GO Battle League.

We’re equally serious about our policy of never commenting on the details of investigations into individual accounts. Here’s what we can share.

When a possible exploit is identified, we follow this process:

  1. Analyze the issue - Data analysis is the most important work we do during this process. Rash action (i.e. no analysis) can solve the immediate issue; however, it leaves the door open for the exploit to return in the future.
  2. Determine severity - Based on our analyses, we determine (a) the level of technical knowledge needed to abuse the exploit and (b) how badly the exploit harms the integrity of GO Battle League.
  3. Mitigate accordingly
Based on the above outlined steps, the disabling of GO Battle League means we’ve arrived at the “mitigation” step of our process for the current situation. There is plenty of work happening behind the scenes, and we’ll re-enable GO Battle League once we’re confident the “trust contract” will be honored.
