Niantic has added Gym Leader Avatar Items to Pokémon GO. There are three varieties of the tops, shorts and shoes, one for each team but they also require a certain Gym Leader medal rank to be able to purchase.

Niantic has announced that players can now purchase Team Rocket uniforms in Pokémon GO for their avatars to wear. 100 coins is equal to $1USD, so buying all the Team Rocket uniforms will cost approximately $15 USD.

The Pokémon GO Global Catch Challenge successfully reached its goal of catching 3 billion Pokémon in a week resulting in a total of 3,364,580,633 Pokémon being caught during the 7 day period. As part of the reward for achieving that goal, the Rainbow Pokémon Ho-oh will appear in Raid Battles at Gyms around the world until December 12th, 2017.

Niantic has announced the Pokémon GO Travel and the Global Catch Challenge which aims to get players to catch 3 billion Pokémon in a week from November 20th, 2017 until November 26th, 2017.

Trainers, Ever since Pokémon GO launched, we've loved hearing stories of Trainers venturing abroad and playing together with new friends from different countries. That's what inspired us to create Pokémon GO Travel, a new video series to see the world through the eyes of a Pokémon Trainer. To kick things off, Pokémon GO Travel is taking a diverse group of Trainers from around the world to Japan to host our first-ever Global Catch Challenge.

The New York Comic Con is the East Coast's largest pop culture convention and it is taking place from October 5th to 8th, 2017 at the Javits Center in Midtown Manhattan. During VIZ Media's panel, two new Pokémon manga series were revealed: Pokémon Sun & Moon and Pokémon Horizon. Nintendo of America and Nintendo of Canada have announced Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon Starter Trainer’s Packs which includes the game, 12x Revives and a keychain! They will be sold at select retailers in the United States and Canada. Despite the packaging stating that the keychains are Solgaleo and Lunala respectively, they are technically Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma keychains. Nintendo of America has taken down the posts announcing these packs due to the box art error.

To help promote the Global Goals initiative, Niantic has announced that a Global Goals shirt will be available for all player's avatars to wear in Pokémon GO.

Standing with the Global Goals

In September 2015, 193 world leaders agreed to 17 Global Goals for Sustainable Development, which set out to end extreme poverty, inequality and climate change by 2030. Earlier this year, we announced a set of Pokémon GO game locations in collaboration with Global Goals during the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. Each of these 17 PokéStops represented the individual Global Goals, shedding light on the causes that they stand for and on our mission to foster discovery around the world.

Those that pre-order two copies of Pocket Monsters Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon between September 22nd, 2017 and November 16th, 2017 at a Pokémon Center, a Pokémon Store, the Pokémon Store Online or the Pokémon EXPO Gym Official Shop can receive Dusk Mane Necrozma and Dawn Wings Necrozma Figures as well as a Pokémon Ultra Sun and Pokémon Ultra Moon Alola Art Book. Two copies of the games are required to be ordered in order to receive these presents but any combination including the Double Pack qualify. For example, people could purchase two copies of Ultra Sun to receive the presents.


The Pocket Monsters Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Double Pack costs 9960yen while each game purchased separately costs 4980 yen. The Double pack also comes with 2 serial codes to get 100 Monster balls.
