Four limited edition Nintendo 2DS's will be released in Japan on Saturday February 27th, 2016. Pre-orders begin on December 26th, 2015 and those that order one of the sets at a Pokémon Center can also get a special art book with which you can listen to Pokémon cries. The Nintendo 2DS box art and case coloring match that of the original games Pocket Monsters Red, Green, Blue and Pikachu. The Pocket Monsters Blue set will be only available at the Pokémon Center and Pokémon Stores. High resolution box art and system pictures have been added to an Imageboard thread.

Mew Exchange Ticket

The Mew Exchange Ticket is included in the Nintendo 2DS Limited Edition sets and it allows players to get Mew in their digital copy of Pocket Monsters Red, Green, Blue and Pikachu. Full details of the exchange event will be announced by February 2016.

From January 1st, 2016 until June 30th, 2016, an Event Pokémon Campaign is being held at the Pokémon Center Hiroshima. Each month a new Pokémon is being distributed for players of the Japanese versions of Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. During this period, the Pokémon Center Hiroshima will also be holding events for family and friends to have fun. Players that received these event Pokémon in the past from their previous distributions could also receive these Pokémon.

The official Japanese Pokémon webiste announced the details for Pikachu Mega Campaign Part 2 (強★カワ ピカチュウのメガキャンペーン第2弾) which will took place at the Pokémon Centers in January of 2016. Details of the first part of the campaign are available by clicking here.


From January 1st, 2016 until January 31st, 2016, players of Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire can receive 1 of 5 different Pokémon at random each period. There were 5 separate distributions periods, so players could return to try and get one of the other Pokémon. Tabunne, Lucario, Tyltalis, Yadoran and Yamirami where the distributed Pokémon, each of which could Mega Evolve from the Mega Stone they were holding.

Pokémon Card Game Limited Goods

Various Pokémon Trading Card Game goods will be available for a limited time in January 2016 only at the Pokémon Centers and are unattainable elsewhere. A box set of card shields featuring the artwork of Pikachu wearing Ponchos was available.

Business Cards and Events

Various business cards featuring the Pikachu wearing Ponchos were available while supplies lasted to patrons of the stores. Poncho wearing Pikachu mascots also appeared to allow people to take pictures with them.

A POKÉMON with YOU Smile Park (POKÉMON with YOU スマイルパーク) event will be held at Big Palette Fukushima (ビッグパレットふくしま) on Sunday, December 20th, 2015 from 10:00 to 17:00.

As part of the events festivities, a Pikachu will be distributed to players of Pokémon X, Pokémon Y, Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire. The Pikachu is Level 99 and knows the moves: Happy Hour, Play Nice, Hold Hands and Flash. It comes with a Souvenir Ribbon and is holding a Rare Candy.

The official Japanese YouTube Channel posted a video for the Pikachu Mega Campaign (ピカチュウの メガキャンペーン) which will take place at the Pokémon Centers starting on December 12th, 2015. This is part one of the campaign and another part will be announced at a later date. Images from the video have been added to an Imageboard thread.


Patrons that spend at least 2,000 yen on merchandise at the store can receive 1 of 8 different Poncho Pikachu cards with an accompanying Clear File. The presents feature: Pikachu with Mega Rayquaza poncho, Pikachu with Mega Tabunne Poncho, Pikachu with Mega Tyltalis poncho, Pikachu with Mega Yadoran poncho, Pikachu with Mega Lizardon X poncho, Pikachu with Mega Lizardon Y poncho and Pikachu with Mega Lucario poncho.


Those that spend at least a 1,000 yen on TCG merchandise during the campaign, they can receive the Pokémon Center Poncho-wearing Pikachu (ポンチョを着たピカチュウ) 203/XY-P card. It features the artwork of Pikachu in Mega Tabunne, Mega Lucario and Mega Yadoran poncho's. Details of this card have been added to our TCG dex.


An alternate-colored Diancie will be distributed from December 12th, 2015 until December 31st, 2015 to players of Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. Details were not revealed.


Players of Pokémon Tretta Ultimate Z can also receive a Mega Lizardon X or Mega Gyarados trophy tretta.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced that the Johto Starters Chicorita, Hinoarashi and Waninoko will be distributed to patrons of the Pokémon Lab: You do it! You discover! Special Exhibition.


Patrons that complete the Lab 1 mission will receive a serial code for one of the Johto starter that can be redeemed in Pokémon X, Y, Omega Ruby or Alpha Sapphire. All 3 starters are level 5 and have the OT Pokémon Lab (ポケモンラボ). Chicorita knows the moves Tackle and Growl. Hinoarashi knows the moves Tackle and Leer. Waninoko knows the moves Scratch and Leer. Serial codes will be available from December 23rd, 2015 until March 6th, 2016 and they can be redeemed until May 9th, 2016.

The Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Happy Meal will be available at participating McDonald’s locations in the US and Canada from Friday, November 27 to Wednesday, December 23.

From November 7th, 2015 until December 6th, 2015, all Pokémon Center, Pokémon Stores and the Hokuriku Oyabe Pokémon Store Outlet will be distributing an alternate-colored Bangiras that matches the one that Kotone Yasue used to become the Junior Division Pokémon World Champion. It will be distributed to players of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire.


According to the official Pokémon website, Kotone Yasue's Bangiras knew the Moves: Crunch, Rock Slide, Low Kick and Protect. Its Nature was Adamant, it was holding a Life Orb and its Ability was Sand Stream.

The Pokémon EXPO Gym (ポケモンEXPOジム) is the first Pokémon themed interactive edutainment facility in Japan. The 'Communication with Pokémon' (ポケモンとのコミュニケーション) is based on the world of Pokémon and is focused on developing the communication skills of children while still having fun. The biggest feature of the Pokémon EXPO Gym is that the visitors, Pokémon Trainers, can be training while talking to Pokémon in a realistic manner. You can learn techniques or get advice on Pokémon problems.

There are seven program, each with their own individual theme that is focused on growing as a Pokémon Trainers. The Pokémon EXPO Gym Gear (ポケモンEXPOジムギア) app can be downloaded and players can register to check their skills as a trainer and to receive messages during training.


To talk with Pokémon in the Pokémon EXPO Gym requires the Pokémon Fluency Translator （ポケモンペラペラ翻訳機） or Poképera (ポケペラ) for short. It is a Apple iOS and Google Android app which can be downloaded for free from the App Store or Google Play. The app can check records of the player and has other options and it will be available in early November 2015. It intergrates with the Membership Card (メンバーズカード) via IC which is required to particpate at the Pokémon EXPO Gym. The card costs 500 yen including tax and pre-sales will begin starting October 31st, 2015 at the Osaka Pokémon Center.
