Play shocking battles in the Pikachu Cup, an Online Competition where only Electric-type Pokémon are allowed, including Pokémon brought over from Pokémon Black, Pokémon White, Pokémon Black 2, or Pokémon White 2 via Poké Transporter. If Pikachu is among the top three most-used Pokémon in the tournament, all qualified participants will receive a Special Pikachu! If Pikachu finishes 4th through 12th in the usage rankings, everyone will receive a Light Ball. If Pikachu is not in the top 12, all Trainers will receive 1,000 Poké Miles.

The competition used the Rotation Battle format and players could register 4 to 6 of their level 1–100 Pokémon to their Battle Box. Pokémon automatically became Level 50 during battles. A 15-minute time limit for each match was automatically enforced in-game, beginning at the start of each battle. If the outcome had not been determined when the time limit expired, the game automatically applied tiebreakers to determine a winner. At the beginning of each battle, players had 60 seconds to select their Pokémon to battle with. At the beginning of each turn, players had 30 seconds to select a move or change Pokémon in battle. If a player had not made his or her selections at the end of this period, the game automatically made selections for the player. Players could battle up to 15 games per day of the competition. Any unplayed games would carry over to the following day.

Event Pokémon Details

Aromatisse
Level: 50
Moves: Trick Room, Heal Pulse, Disable and Moonblast
Item: Babiri Berry
Ability: Aroma Veil

Aromatisse can start with Trick Room and through the attacks Heal Pulse and Disable, becomes a strong support. In addition its attack Moonblast has devastating effects if it's used against a mighty Dragon Pokémon like Salamence. Aromatisse also highlights itself through the ability Aroma Veil which makes it immune against Taunt and Encore. That ability is for Pokémon who have a supporting role very useful since they can use their attacks undisturbed.

Malamar
Level: 50
Moves: Superpower, Knock Off, Facade and Rock Slide
Item: Assault Vest
Ability: Contrary

Malamar's ability Contrary converts every loss of values that it got in raise of values. That includes losses that it had to take from its own attacks. Because Malamar's attack and defense values get raised, its attack Superpower becomes even more impressive. Malamar also wears an Assault vest, which raises it's special defense. So it becomes even harder to get this Pokémon down.

Sableye
Moves: Calm Mind, Will-O-Wisp, Recover and Shadow Ball
Item: Sablenite
Ability: Prankster

Even before the mega evolution Sableye's ability Prankster makes sure that it can get an impressive start with its attack Will-O-Wisp. Calm Mind raises the special attack plus the special defense and Recover causes it to heal when it gets damage through the opponent. Once Sableye mega evolves, the attack Shadow Ball gives it the necessary offensive power to finish off its opponent. Of course you have the possibility to use the mega evolution right at the start of the battle, so it can use its ability Magic Bounce to repel attacks which cause status problems like paralyze or sleep.

Bouffalant
Moves: Head Charge, Facade, Earthquake and Rock Slide
Item: Choice Band
Ability: Soundproof

Bouffalants ability Soundproof prevents all effects of sound attacks, like for example the popular attack Hyper Voice. With its attack Facade, Bouffalant can defend itself against status problems that come off from common attacks like Will-O-Wisp or Thunderwave.

It is capable of dealing damage to the opponent even if they have used moves like "Protect" and "Detect"!

There's more! Hoopa loves pranks and can use moves that suit this image perfectly!

pic Psychic:
A Psychic type move that may lower the opponent's Sp. Def.
Since it's the same type as Hoopa, the damage is increased 1.5 times.
pic Astonish:
A Ghost type move that may cause the opponent to flinch.
It's super effective against Ghost type Pokémon, which Hoopa is weak against.
pic Nasty Plot:
A move that increases the user's own Sp. Atk by two stages.
By increasing your Sp. Atk, you can deal great amounts of damage with Hyperspace Hole and Psychic!

You can change Hoopa's form into "Hoopa Unbound" in Pocket Monsters Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire
pic

Hoopa (Hoopa Unbound)
Type: Psychic/Dark
Ability: Magician

When Hoopa changes its form from "Hoopa Confined" to "Hoopa Unbound", its Attack, Sp. Atk and Speed increases. In particular, its Attack stat becomes really high.
It also becomes capable of learning "Hyperspace Fury", a powerful move only Hoopa Unbound can use.
Its power is so high it can fight battles on an equal or higher level than even legendary Pokémon!

The powerful move only Hoopa Unbound can use, "Hyperspace Fury"
pic

"Hyperspace Fury" has a power of 100.
It's a powerful move capable of dealing damage to the opponent even if they have used moves like "Protect" and "Detect".
You can teach "Hyperspace Fury" either by raising Hoopa Unbound to level 85, or by having the Move Maniac remind Hoopa Unbound of it by giving him "Heart Scales" carried by Lovecus etc.

Once you have Hoopa, go to the Pokémon Center to receive the "Prison Bottle"!
pic

In "Pocket Monsters Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire", if you go to the Friendly Shop with Hoopa in your possession, the clerk will tell you a creepy story and give you the "Prison Bottle".
This is an item that can be used to release Hoopa from its confinement and change its form into Hoopa Unbound.

pic

When you use the Prison Bottle, Hoopa will change its form into "Hoopa Unbound" for three days only.
When the three days are up, it will turn back into "Hoopa Confined".
