Niantic has added a new feature to Pokémon GO called PokéStop Showcases! It allows Trainers to enter Pokémon into Showcases at select PokéStops and have them compete against other Trainers’ Pokémon! Are you ready to prove that you’re a top Trainer? Get ready to show what you’re made of in a new competitive update to PokéStops!

Introducing a new way to compete—PokéStop Showcases!

Trainers,
Throughout all your adventures and travels, you probably have quite a few Pokémon that are particularly special. Maybe it’s a massive Snorlax or an itty-bitty Morelull.

And have you ever wanted to show off those extra-special favorites? Now you can!

We’re excited to announce PokéStop Showcases! In this new type of competition, Trainers will be able to enter Pokémon into Showcases at select PokéStops and have them compete against other Trainers’ Pokémon! Only a limited selection of Pokémon will be able to compete in a particular Showcase— these eligible Pokémon will be chosen from Pokémon featured in Pokémon GO’s current event.

The first PokéStop Showcases will take place during the Pokémon GO 7th Anniversary Party . Trainers will be able to enter Squirtle into Showcases at select PokéStops to see whose Pokémon is the biggest! There will be an icon above PokéStops to indicate where a Showcase is available.

Showcases will only run for a short time. Once a Showcase is over, all Trainers will get rewards based on their Pokémon’s rank, and the Trainer who takes home the number one spot will get a medal!

Stay tuned for more information on future Showcases. We hope you enjoy this new way to compete with your fellow Trainers!

Entering a Showcase

PokéStops hosting PokéStop Showcases will have a unique icon above them. Prior to entering a Pokémon, the Showcase icon above the PokéStop will be green. If you tap the PokéStop, you can then tap “Showcase” to enter a Pokémon. Once a Pokémon has been entered into that Showcase, the icon above the PokéStop will turn purple. You can only enter a Pokémon at a PokéStop that you are physically near.

Showcases will take place at the same PokéStops throughout the Season, so make sure to visit that PokéStop regularly!

Entering your Pokémon into the Showcase does not leave them at the PokéStop. Trainers will still be able to trade, transfer, change form, or evolve their Pokémon after entering them into a Showcase.

Each PokéStop Showcase can support 200 Pokémon. An individual Pokémon can only be entered into one Showcase at a time.

image

image

Switching Pokémon

You can catch Showcase-eligible Pokémon throughout the duration of the Showcase period. Trainers can also switch out the Pokémon they entered into the Showcase. Pokémon entered in a Showcase can be switched out remotely.

image

Checking where you rank

You’ll be able to see where your Pokémon ranks by checking the Leaderboard section on the PokéStop’s Showcase page.

Claim your rewards!

Once a Showcase concludes, all Trainers who participated will receive rewards, such as Stardust, XP, and more! The top three can receive rewards such as an Incubator, a Star Piece, and more. The Trainer that takes home the number-one spot will get a medal!

Trainers can claim their rewards via the Today View once the Showcase concludes, or they can claim them directly from the PokéStop! The icon on the PokéStop that hosted the Showcase will turn orange if there are rewards for Trainers to claim.

More information about Pokémon Sleep was announced today including a new trailer showcasing how to play the game and the Pokémon GO Plus + Device. Track your sleep at night, study Pokémon sleep styles the next morning, and raise up Snorlax nice and big during the day! The more sleep you get, the bigger Snorlax becomes, the more Pokémon you’ll be able to meet, and the more sleep styles you’ll be able to discover. Preregistration has started for Pokémon Sleep on Google Play.

Prepare to Rest Your Very Best! Preregistration Begins for Pokémon Sleep

Bellevue, Wash. — July 6, 2023 — The Pokémon Company International announced today that preregistration has started for Pokémon Sleep, the sleep tracker app that turns sleep into entertainment, on Google Play for Android mobile devices.

How to Play Pokémon Sleep

To play Pokémon Sleep, players place their smartphone device or Pokémon GO Plus + by their pillow and go to sleep[1]. When they wake up, they can check the results of the sleep tracking, study the sleep styles of the Pokémon that have appeared, and work together with Pokémon sleep researcher Professor Neroli to record them in the Sleep Style Dex. The more sleep players get, and the bigger Snorlax becomes, the more Pokémon they can meet, and the more sleep styles they’ll be able to discover. Players can also raise Snorlax during the day.

The Three Sleep Types

Pokémon Sleep categorizes sleep into three types: Dozing, Snoozing, and Slumbering. Pokémon whose sleeping pattern matches the player’s sleep type will gather around Snorlax. After players have studied the sleep styles of the gathered Pokémon, they can give Pokémon Poké Biscuits. This will make them friendlier, and they’ll become able to join players as helper Pokémon.

Gather Drowsy Power and Raise Snorlax

In Pokémon Sleep, players will be assigned a “sleep score” based on how long they’ve slept. Players get 100 points when they sleep for at least 8.5 hours. The longer players sleep, the greater Snorlax’s Drowsy Power will become, which in turn determines how many Pokémon gather each time they wake up.

During the day, the player’s helper Pokémon will gather Berries to give to Snorlax, and can activate skills to support them in raising Snorlax. Helper Pokémon can gather Berries even during times of the day when Pokémon Sleep is not being played.

image image

New Research Begins Every Monday

Every Monday, players will choose a new site to move to and encounter a new Snorlax to raise there. This begins a new week of sleep research. The Pokémon encountered will differ depending on the area players are in. More Pokémon may come to sleep on the weekends, and there may even be rarer species than usual!

Share Sleep Research with Friends in the Research Community

Players can register another player as a friend to share their sleep duration and sleep type with them, as well as information like the number of sleep styles studied and the Pokémon in their helper teams. Players can also get rewards for reviewing their friends’ sleep research.

image image

Learn More about the Pokémon GO Plus + Device

Inside the Pokémon GO Plus + device, there’s a nightcap-wearing Pikachu that players can meet in Pokémon Sleep when their Pokémon GO Plus + device is paired with Pokémon Sleep.

Usually, players build teams of five from the Pokémon they meet in Pokémon Sleep, but the nightcap-wearing Pikachu can fill in as a sixth team member!

If players connect their Pokémon GO Plus + device to Pokémon GO and spin PokéStops, their Pokémon GO Plus + device will keep a record of it and give them Berries when it is connected to Pokémon Sleep.

[1]Don’t place your device under your pillow or blankets, as it may overheat.

The Secret Agent Pokémon, Inteleon, Is Now Available in Pokémon UNITE

Be careful not to blow your cover as you take aim with this Ranged Attacker from the Galar region.

Stealth into battle and strike when the time is right with Inteleon in Pokémon UNITE! Inteleon begins each match as the sensitive Sobble before evolving into the dreary Drizzile and finally the suave Inteleon. The Secret Agent Pokémon is renowned for its sneaky tactics, slippery moves, and powerful water-shooting fingertips, and it harnesses those strengths as a sharp-eyed Ranged Attacker on Aeos Island. You can obtain Inteleon for 13,000 Aeos coins or 575 Aeos gems at the Unite Battle Committee shop. Inteleon will only be obtainable with Aeos gems for the first seven days of its release.

Read on to learn more about everything the Secret Agent Pokémon has to offer before taking aim on Aeos Island.

Inteleon Basics - Ability: Sniper

The Pokémon deals increased damage to opposing Pokémon when it lands a critical hit. When the Pokémon is near a wall, it becomes camouflaged, and opposing Pokémon are unable to target it. The Pokémon gains one critical counter whenever a set amount of time passes while camouflaged (up to a maximum of 3 counters). When a critical counter is consumed, this Pokémon’s next basic attack or move that has a set chance of becoming a critical hit is guaranteed to be a critical hit.

Basic Attacks

The Pokémon’s basic attack becomes a boosted attack with every third attack, dealing increased damage with an increased critical-hit rate.

Lv. 1 & 3 Moves

Tearful Look - Sobble decreases the Attack and Sp. Atk of the designated opposing Pokémon and increases its own movement speed for a short time.
Water Gun - Sobble squirts water, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits. Water Gun has a set chance of becoming a critical hit.

Lv. 5 Moves

Fell Stinger - Drizzile fires a sharp stinger in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits. If the stinger hits a wall, Drizzile moves to the point the stinger hit, and Fell Stinger’s cooldown is reduced. If the stinger hits an opposing Pokémon or a wall, Drizzile gains one critical counter. Fell Stinger can be upgraded to reduce its cooldown.
Acrobatics - Drizzile glides in the designated direction, and if it hits an opposing Pokémon or wall, it can glide in a designated direction again. If Drizzile hits an opposing Pokémon while gliding, it deals damage to the opposing Pokémon and decreases its movement speed. Every time Acrobatics is used, Drizzile gains one critical counter. Acrobatics can also be used while attacking with Liquidation. Acrobatics can be upgraded to increase the first glide’s travel distance.

Lv. 7 Moves

Snipe Shot - Inteleon aims in the designated direction for a set amount of time and then fires a water projectile, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits while partially ignoring their Sp. Def. The farther away Inteleon is from the opposing Pokémon it hits, the more damage Snipe Shot does. Snipe Shot has a set chance of becoming a critical hit. A maximum of three uses can be kept in reserve for Snipe Shot, and Snipe Shot can be upgraded to decrease the time it takes to store one of its uses.
Liquidation - Inteleon continually fires water projectiles from both hands, dealing damage to the designated opposing Pokémon it hits. If Liquidation hits 5 times within a short period of time, damage the opposing Pokémon takes from the Inteleon’s attacks will be increased for a short time. Liquidation has a set chance of becoming a critical hit. Liquidation can also be used while moving via Acrobatics. Liquidation can be upgraded to increase the number of water projectiles fired.

Inteleon’s Unite Move, Azure Spy Vision

For a short time, Inteleon can see nearby Pokémon that are in stealth or hiding in tall grass. Also, Inteleon’s critical-hit rate is doubled, and it gains one critical counter whenever a set amount of time passes.

Metagame Watch

Strong Against: Scizor - Scizor is one of the bulkiest Melee All-Rounders in Pokémon UNITE, but without Double Hit, it can struggle to stick to its target. Inteleon’s Fell Stinger and Acrobatics are both strong moves that allow Inteleon to not only escape from Scizor and its Bullet Punch but also to reposition and retaliate with Liquidation. Since Inteleon’s Sniper Ability almost guarantees a flurry of critical hits against its enemy, Scizor can also struggle to restore enough HP with Bullet Punch to stay in the fight.
Weak Against: Dodrio - While Ranged Attackers love keeping their distance and dealing damage over time, Speedsters love the opposite—launching into battle and ending it in a flash. Dodrio is currently one of the strongest Speedsters in Pokémon UNITE, and it has both the damage and movement speed to catch up with Inteleon and knock it out quickly. Dodrio’s Agility and boosted attack make the Triple Bird Pokémon’s job quite the threat, so it’s best to avoid picking a fight with one without a Defender by your side.
