Details Revealed for Three-Episode Web Series Set in the Ancient Hisui Region
BELLEVUE, Wash. — April 26, 2022 — The Pokémon Company International revealed details today about an animated series that will take fans on a new adventure in the ancient Hisui region of the Pokémon world. The web series, originally teased during a Pokémon Presents on Pokémon Day 2022, is titled “Pokémon: Hisuian Snow” and is slated to premiere on May 18, 2022, exclusively on the official Pokémon YouTube channel and Pokémon TV.
The Hisui region was originally explored in the Pokémon Legends: Arceus video game and represents the Sinnoh region of old—before the existence of Pokémon Trainers and Pokémon Leagues. “Pokémon: Hisuian Snow” is a story that takes place during this ancient age when the relationship between people and Pokémon was very different. Aboard a boat bound for the Hisui region, the protagonist Alec reminisces about the first time his father took him there. Over the span of three episodes, “Pokémon: Hisuian Snow” will go into detail about Alec’s stories from the past.
Character Details:
Viewers will meet Hisuian Pokémon and new characters in this limited web series. The Pokémon Company International has revealed initial details of key characters and Pokémon in anticipation of the premiere.
Alec
Alec is heading to the Hisui region in search of medicinal herbs. He is a mild-mannered young man who is studying to become a doctor. As a child, he once accompanied his father on a visit to the Hisui region. He had an adventurous and mischievous side to him when he was a child.
Alec’s Father
Alec’s father is a woodworker. He originally lived in a different region, but recently moved to the Hisui region to procure materials. He came to fear Pokémon after a certain incident.
Zorua (Hisuian Form)
The Spiteful Fox Pokémon who lives in the Hisui region. It is said that the lingering spirits of Zorua who were chased out of their homeland and perished have returned to life in this form, fueled by the power of their malice toward humans and Pokémon.

Dev Diaries: a mega update to Mega Evolution in Pokémon GO is coming soon!
Trainers,
We’re very excited to announce that an update to Mega Evolution in Pokémon GO is now live in Australia and New Zealand and will be available globally soon.
Mega Evolution is an Evolution that transcends all others. Mega Evolution temporarily changes a Pokémon’s appearance and increases its strength. In Pokémon GO, Trainers use Mega Energy to Mega Evolve their Pokémon.
But with the latest Pokémon GO update, Mega Evolution will now be easier and more rewarding than ever before!
Dev Diaries: Mega Evolution and Mega Raid updates
For April’s Dev Diary, we’re excited to share a look into the changes we’re making to Mega Evolution and Mega Raids in Pokémon GO.
YouTube Clip - Dev Diaries: Mega Evolution and Mega Raid updates
Most Mega Raids will be easier. You can now take them on with fewer people!
You’ll be able to Mega Evolve your Pokémon from raid and battle prep screens.
Pokémon you have Mega Evolved before will now have an additional visual effect added to their information page to commemorate this momentous achievement.
We’re implementing Mega Levels and changing how Mega Energy is used.
MEGA MASTERY: Introducing Mega Levels
Being a Pokémon Trainer is all about helping your Pokémon grow, and we’re introducing a new way for you to do just that—Mega Levels! Every time you Mega Evolve a Pokémon, you work toward increasing its Mega Level. You’ll get more bonuses every time a Pokémon’s Mega Level goes up, and these bonuses will stay active while your Pokémon is Mega Evolved.
Each Mega Level grants various bonuses. Bonuses vary by Pokémon, and all bonuses will improve as a Pokémon’s Mega Level increases.
Existing bonuses
Increased Candy when you catch Pokémon that are the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
While attacking with a Mega-Evolved Pokémon in a Raid Battle or a Gym battle, the attacks of other Trainers’ Pokémon challenging that same raid or Gym will deal more damage. Their Pokémon’s attacks will deal even more damage if the attack is the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
New bonuses
Increased chance of earning Candy XL when you catch Pokémon that are the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
Increased XP for catching Pokémon that are the same type as your Mega-Evolved Pokémon.
A Pokémon’s rest period decreases as its Mega Level increases.
MORE MEGA MOMENTS: A one-time cost to Mega Evolve
With this update, after you Mega Evolve a Pokémon for the first time, you’ll be able to Mega Evolve that same Pokémon again without using Mega Energy!
After Mega Evolving, your Pokémon will be fatigued and need time before it can Mega Evolve again. Once this rest period is over, that Pokémon can Mega Evolve again without using Mega Energy.
You can use Mega Energy to decrease a Pokémon’s rest period. The Mega Energy required to Mega Evolve a Pokémon will decrease as the Pokémon’s rest period becomes shorter.
Please be aware of your surroundings and follow guidelines from local health authorities when playing Pokémon GO. Upcoming events are subject to change.

Azumarill is now available in Pokémon UNITE as of April 8th, 2022. This Melee All-Rounder is ready to wield whirlpools and warp water in battle against any opposition.
YouTube Clip - Azumarill Character Spotlight | Pokémon UNITE
Tackle Pokémon UNITE foes in aquatic style with Azumarill, now available to join your team. This Melee All-Rounder is ready to wield whirlpools and warp water in battle against any opposition. Azumarill’s basic attack becomes a boosted attack with every third attack, dealing increased damage to opposing Pokémon within a cone area of effect in front of it. Azumarill’s Ability, Huge Power, ensures that when it hits a single opposing Pokémon with a basic attack, a move, or its Unite Move, the hit is always a critical hit. Conversely, when Azumarill hits multiple opposing Pokémon at once with a basic attack, a move, or its Unite Move, the hits are never critical hits.
Marill and Azumarill’s Moves
At Lv. 1 and Lv. 3, Marill can learn Tackle and Bubble.
When using Tackle, the Aqua Mouse Pokémon charges forward, damaging any opposing Pokémon it hits along the way and rendering them unable to act for a short time. When attacking with Bubble, Marill sprays bubbles in a cone, damaging opposing Pokémon in the area of effect and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. Marill can still move around while using the move.
At Lv. 5, Marill evolves into Azumarill, and Bubble can be upgraded into one of two equally aquatic moves: Whirlpool or Aqua Tail.
Whirlpool generates four small whirlpools that swirl around Azumarill as it moves. If one of these whirlpools hits an opposing Pokémon, the whirlpool deals damage to it and restores some of Azumarill’s HP. If the whirlpool hits a Pokémon on the opposing team, however, even more HP is restored to Azumarill. Whirlpool can be upgraded to reduce its cooldown and increase the amount of HP restored to Azumarill.
Bubble can also be upgraded into Aqua Tail. This move increases the speed and area of effect of Azumarill’s next three basic attacks. If these attacks hit from a distance, they deal increased damage, restore Azumarill’s HP, and can ignore the Defense stat and shield effects of opposing Pokémon that are hit. When Aqua Tail is upgraded, Azumarill’s next three basic attacks after it’s used will also reduce the cooldown of all of Azumarill’s moves when those attacks hit an opposing Pokémon from a distance.
At Lv. 7, Azumarill can also upgrade Tackle into one of two different moves: Play Rough or Water Pulse.
Play Rough increases Azumarill’s movement speed for a brief time and changes Azumarill’s next basic attack into a lunge that targets one opposing Pokémon in range and delivers repeated blows to it. This flurry of hits damages the targeted Pokémon and renders it unable to attack for a short time. Play Rough can be upgraded to reduce its cooldown and further increase Azumarill’s movement speed when it’s used.
Tackle can also be upgraded into Water Pulse, which has Azumarill shoot a pulsing blast of water in a forward direction. When the blast hits an opposing Pokémon, it decreases that Pokémon’s movement speed and deals damage to all opposing Pokémon in an area of effect around the Pokémon it hit. The blast of water then automatically bounces to another target if one is available. Including the first Pokémon hit by the attack, the blast of water can bounce between up to three opposing Pokémon consecutively, and each hit behaves in the same way as the first. While the blast of water is traveling, Azumarill can perform a short rolling dash in a designated direction. Water Pulse can be upgraded to increase the maximum number of targets that the blast of water can bounce between by two.
Azumarill’s Unite Move, Belly Bash
Bash the opposition with Azumarill’s boldly audacious Unite Move, Belly Bash. When Azumarill unleashes Belly Bash on an opposing Pokémon, it pounds its belly three times, creating a shield for itself. With each pound, Azumarill loses HP in exchange for increased Attack. Azumarill can still move while it’s pounding its belly. Afterward, Azumarill charges at the opposing Pokémon, dealing damage to and throwing all opposing Pokémon it hits while charging.
Azumarill is ready to play rough with the competition. Bounce over to the United Battle Committee shop to get Azumarill’s Unite license now.
