Starting on May 25th, 2019, the Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores in Japan will begin selling a line of merchandise based on the artwork of Yusuke Murata (村田雄介), the talented illustrator that worked on Eyeshield 21 for Weekly Shonen Jump and One-Punch Man. Various items featuring his artwork will be available such as t-shirts, tote bags, Pokémon Card Game boxes and other items. Some of the items will also be available on the Amazon.co.jp Pokémon Store starting on June 1st, 2019 and are denoted with a（★）in the items list. A videos showing him drawing some of the items artwork have also been posted.

Since the movie is being remade in full 3DCG this time, I feel like this is going to be an all new Pokémon movie even though we're actually back at the starting point... I'm very much looking forward to it. I think this movie will remain in the hearts of both those that watched it way back then and the children watching it for the first time, and I really hope this will be the case. I'm a bit worried about whether or not I'm still able to do the Mew voice, but I'll try my best with those high tones!!
	VOYAGER Manages the wharf, and is very familiar with the sea due to growing up by a port. Voice: Sachiko Kobayashi I feel extremely happy to once again be able to take part in "Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution" after 21 long years. The original movie was a movie that nurtured kindness and sympathy, and that moved lots of children with its adventure featuring their beloved Pokémon and friends. I really want both those that were children back then, and for the children living in the present, to make sure they catch this legendary Pokémon movie, which has now undergone a further evolution, in the theater!!

The official Pokémon website has announced that a new English dub season will start in March 2019 in North America and it is called Pokémon the Series: Sun and Moon Ultra Legends. It will air first in Canada on Teletoon starting on March 2nd, 2019.

A New Season of Pokémon the Series

Ash and Pikachu’s adventures in the Alola region continue when Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon—Ultra Legends debuts.

Pokémon the Series: Sun & Moon—Ultra Legends, the 22nd season of the animated series, is set to debut soon. This new season continues the adventures of Ash and Pikachu in the Alola region, alongside Professor Kukui and all their friends from the Pokémon School. Of course, you can expect our heroes to encounter all sorts of colorful new characters and many wonderful Pokémon during this season, and you can bet that Team Rocket will be there to cause trouble!

Highly Anticipated Games Unveiled via Pokémon Direct

London, United Kingdom—February 27, 2019—During a Pokémon Direct presentation today, Tsunekazu Ishihara, president and CEO of The Pokémon Company, announced Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield, the newest additions to the main series of Pokémon role-playing video games. Developed by GAME FREAK inc., Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield will be launching late 2019 exclusively on the Nintendo Switch™ system.


The Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield games take place in the Galar region. Galar is an expansive region with diverse environments— an idyllic countryside, contemporary cities, thick forest, and craggy, snow-covered mountains. The people and the Pokémon who live there work together closely to develop the industries in the region. Fans will have the opportunity to visit various Gyms in the Galar region in their quest to become Champion. They will not be alone, since the newly discovered Pokémon they choose to be their first partner will be by their side.


“Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield are the latest exciting adventures in the Pokémon video game journey that began twenty-three years ago on this day,” said Mr. Ishihara. “Since then, Trainers around the world have discovered new Pokémon, engaged in epic battles, and made countless memories along the way. The adventure begins in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield when players choose one of three new Pokémon—Grookey, Scorbunny, or Sobble. Grookey, a Grass-type Chimp Pokémon, is mischievous and full of boundless curiosity. Bursting with energy, Scorbunny, a Fire-type Rabbit Pokémon, is always running about. The stealthy Sobble, a Water-type Water Lizard Pokémon, shoots out attacks as it hides itself in water.

The Pokémon Company recently announced that the Pokémon Center Kyoto would be relocating on March 16th, 2019 from its current location on the 5th floor of the Takashimaya Kyoto Store to its new location in the Kyoto Economic Center Suina Muromachi, where it will be double the size of the current store. From March 16th, 2019 until April 7th, 2019, there will be a Petal Dance Campaign (はなびらのまいキャンペーン) taking place where there will be plenty of fun events and gifts as well as Pikachu appearances.


A lottery will take place for 100 groups, with up to 3 people per group, to attend a pre-opening viewing of the Pokémon Center Kyoto on March 14th, 2019. Those that win the lottery will be able to purchase goods ahead of the official opening. In addition, for every order of at least 5000 yen, they can receive a charm. The lottery is open from February 8th, 2019 until February 15th, 2019 and those interested can apply on the Pokémon Center Online page.

Clear Card:

From March 16th, 2019 until April 7th, 2019, or until supplies last, a Petal Dance Campaign Clear Card will be distributed at all the Pokémon Center and Pokémon Store locations. Visitors can receive one of these clear cards to celebrate the reopening.

Shopping Bags:

Starting on March 16th, 2019, those that purchase goods at all the Pokémon Center and Pokémon Store locations nationwide in Japan will get their items packed in the limited Petal Dance Campaign designed shopping bag.

Pikachu Tea Ceremony TCG Card:

Starting on March 16th, 2019, those that purchase goods at all the Pokémon Center and Pokémon Store locations nationwide in Japan as well as at the Pokémon Center Online store, they will receive a Pikachu Tea Ceremony (お茶会ごっこピカチュウ) 325/SM-P TCG promo card as a present.
