Jay Goede is a Fort Lauderdale, Florida based voice actor for the English dub of Pokémon the Series, joining in Movie 1. Born in Caledonia, Minnesota, Jay is best known in the franchise as the first and original voice of (Movie 1) Mewtwo. Credited as "Phillip Bartlett", he left the series after appearing in "Pokémon Puzzle League".
His use of an alias caused confusion when, in 2001, another actor with the name Philip Bartlett had passed away, causing editors on Wikipedia to edit the page with a death date. It wasn't until a few years later when users found this wasn't the case, and Jay Goede was his true name.
