Description:

Pokémon Puzzle League is one of the rare Pokémon games that was not released in Japan. The game was originally released in the United States on September 25th, 2000 for the Nintendo 64. It was later released on the Wii Shop Channel as a WiiWare download on May 5th, 2008.

Story/Information:

Join Ash, Brock, Misty and many more characters from the Pokémon animated series as they gather in Puzzle Village to compete for the title of Pokémon Puzzle Master. Just match three or more blocks of the same color in any direction. Choose from six different modes offering a wide range of action, from a story mode or solving preset puzzles to continuous play or timed play.

Game Modes:
1P Stadium: Stadium mode is the main part of the game and is story-based. Ash Ketchum is trying to become the greatest Pokémon Puzzle Master as he attempts to defeat as many opponents as he can.

2P Stadium: 2P Stadium mode is similar to the 1P Stadium mode except it allows two players to play against one another. This is the main human multiplayer mode in the game as it pits players against each other as they attempt to clear their blocks before the other player. Each player selects a trainer and then the players decide if they want to play in 2D or 3D mode.

Marathon: Marathon mode is an endless mode an only ends when the player is defeated by the blocks filling one of the vertical segments. The player plays the marathon mode for as long as possible while trying to get as many points they can.

Spa Service:Team Rocket runs the spa and they have stolen Ash's Squirtle and Bulbasaur. The players play as Ash as he is forced to play through a series of stages against Team Rocket members as he attempts to clear blocks down to a predetermined "clear line".

Pokémon Center: Nurse Joy manages the Pokémon Center and this areas allows players to look up player records, trainer profiles and game options.

Professor Oak's Lab: Professor Oak teaches player how to play the game with a few tutorials describing the basics and advanced techniques of the game. The controls are also labeled for players reference.

Puzzle University:
Puzzle University mode is a list predetermined puzzles where players must clear all the blocks in a as few of moves as possible.

Mimic Mansion:
Similar to Professor Oak's Lab, this mode run by by Tracey Sketchit contains gameplay tutorials. Players can select many different skill levels including an interactive mode in which Tracey demonstrates the technique and then the player has the opportunity to mimic it.
