Takara Tomy has announced they will sell Pikachu and Eievui Huggable Springy Plushies (むぎゅむぎゅっとつつまれぬいぐるみ♪) in Japan in late February 2019. Pre-orders for the plushies will take place from September 21st, 2018 until November 1st, 2018. Normal sales of these plushies after the pre-order period has not been decided. Each plush will be sold separately for 12800 yen or both can be purchased together for 20000yen, a 5600 yen savings on the individual price. High resolution images of the plushies have been added to an Imageboard thread.


The head is filled with cotton, while the back is filled with cotton and beads and the stomach is filled with beads.

Starting on July 13th, 2018, the first Pokémon in the Pokémon fit palm sized plush toy lineup will be available to purchase at the Pokémon Centers in Japan. The first 30 Pokémon will be available in July but by November 2018, the remaining 121 Pokémon will become available. 151 Kanto Pokémon to be available to buy and collect as part of this Pokémon fit series. Each plush toy costs 1100yen.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced the Pokémon Stand (ポケモンスタンド), a vending machine that sells popular items from the Pokémon Centers. Many people in Japan had been tweeting about this new vending machine as it was placed and operational before its official announcement. Pikachu greets patrons on the front panel screen. They have currently been placed at: Haneda Airport International Terminal, Aqua City Odaiba, the Ebina Service Area and the Ashigara Service Area. At the Haneda Airport International Terminal Pokémon Stand, Pilot and CA Pikachu plushies and mascot key chains are available for purchase.

Starting on June 15th, 2018, the Pokémon Stand will be a gym for the cellphone game Pokémon GO and will allow Gym Battles and Raid Battles. Those that shop at the Pokémon Stand can get a serial code for Rotom Powers for use in Pokémon Ultra Sun or Ultra Moon.

A new Pokémon Store will open on April 18th, 2018 at the Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport), ITM for short. The concept of the Pokémon Store is to be a "Pokémon Casual Shop", basically a quick kiosk store, where people can purchase some of the official Pokémon merchandise available at the Pokémon Centers.


Special Itami Airport Pikachu plushies will be available at this Pokémon Store location.

As part of the opening festivities for the Pokémon Center Sapporo, an Alolan Rokon was distributed as a present to visitors of the Pokémon Center with Pokémon Sun or Moon from December 1st, 2016 until January 31st, 2017. That Alolan Rokon will now be distributed at all the Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores nationwide in Japan from February 1st, 2017 until March 12th, 2017.


Starting February 1st, 2017, the Pokémon Centers nationwide in Japan will be selling Pikachu dressed in an Alolan Rokon Poncho and Pikachu dressed in a Rokon poncho plushies.
