A new Pokémon TV anime series will be broadcast! The title is “Pocket Monster”, the same as when the Pokémon anime broadcasts started in 1997!

In this new series, all the regions of the world that have appeared in the game so far, from the Kanto Region to the Galar Region, are the stage for this adventure! Various Pokémon that live in each region will appear!

gamescom 2019 is taking place in Cologne, Germany from August 20th, 2019 until August 24th, 2019. Although Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield Director Shigeru Ohmori could not be in attendance to the convention due to working on the games. He did make a video showcasing some new scenes from a town in the Galar region though.

The 2019 Pokémon World Championships are over and the champions have been crowned. The location of the 2020 Pokémon World Championships was also announced during the closing ceremony on Sunday evening and it will be held in London, United Kingdom. New Pokémon Evolutions and Rivals Also Announced ​​​​​​​

The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo revealed details today about the regional forms of Pokémon found in the highly anticipated upcoming video games, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield. New Pokémon Evolutions and information about the rivals that Trainers will face were also revealed. Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield launch November 15, 2019, exclusively on the Nintendo Switch™ system.

Galarian Pokémon
Some Pokémon have adapted to the unique environment of one specific region and do not look or behave like Pokémon of the same species found elsewhere. Regional forms of Pokémon can be found in Galar as well, where they’re known as Galarian forms.


Galarian Weezing
Category: Poison Gas Pokémon

Galarian Weezing consumes polluted air and poisonous gases for sustenance. The by-product of this consumption is purified air, which is spewed out from the tops of its heads. The toxins accumulated within Weezing’s body form into concentrated poison gas clouds that leak out and drift around it. This gas is so potent that even a whiff is enough to stun and immobilize an opponent, making it Weezing’s best weapon during battles.


Galarian Zigzagoon

The Zigzagoon of Galar never settle down and are known to inhabit all areas of the region, including fields, forests, and towns. There is some speculation that the zigzag movements of the Zigzagoon in other regions stem from the restless nature of Galarian Zigzagoon, considered to be the oldest branch of the species. Galarian Zigzagoon enjoy battles and will charge at people and other Pokémon in an attempt to provoke a fight. This behavior usually succeeds in starting a battle with other Pokémon, but humans tend to think Galarian Zigzagoon is just playing or showing affection.

Galarian Linoone can reach speeds of over 60 miles per hour and can deliver devastating Tackles and Headbutts. With enough destructive force to knock away a car, these attacks can also throw Linoone off-balance if they miss. Galarian Linoone are rash and fearless and will recklessly pick fights even with opponents stronger than themselves. Their boldness and their tendency to attack opponents head on make Galarian Linoone very popular among the disaffected youth of the Galar region.

Living in the unique environment of the Galar region, some regional forms of Pokémon have developed unique Evolutions unseen in any other region.


Obstagoon
Category: Blocking Pokémon

The Linoone of the Galar region live in harsh conditions and engage in fierce competition with others of their species. As a result, their survival instincts have been honed, leading to their Evolution into Obstagoon. Though Obstagoon is extremely combative, it often does not launch the first attack. It will taunt an opponent, goading it into attacking. When it does, Obstagoon will cross its arms and meet the oncoming attack with its Obstruct move. Obstagoon is especially skilled at throwing its opponents off guard and counterattacking with its sharp claws.

Form-Changing Pokémon
Some Pokémon can change their form, often because of the effects of certain items or their own Ability. Some of these form changes don’t just change the Pokémon’s appearance but also affect the types of its moves or even change its Ability.


Morpeko
Category: Two-Sided Pokémon

The sacs in Morpeko’s cheeks constantly generate electricity. This consumes energy, causing Morpeko to be constantly hungry. To satisfy this hunger, Morpeko always carries around Berry seeds to snack on. When experiencing prolonged hunger, Morpeko’s hormone balance changes. This causes its fur to change colors and triggers more aggressive and volatile behavior. The energy stored in its cheek sacs also changes from Electric type to Dark type. Morpeko’s Ability, Hunger Switch, is a new Ability that causes it to change its appearance each turn. Aura Wheel is Morpeko’s signature move, and it changes type depending on Morpeko’s form. In Full Belly Mode, the move is Electric type. In Hangry Mode, the move becomes Dark type.

Rivals of the Galar Region

Many Trainers from across the region take part in the Gym Challenge, a competition in which participants face the various Gyms of Galar with the hopes of becoming the Champion. Two rivals that Trainers will compete with on their adventures are Marnie and Bede.


Marnie
Marnie is a rival who has a competitive side, and together with her partner Morpeko, she aims to become the Champion of the Galar region. She has many passionate fans due to her calm and calculated battle strategies.


Bede
Bede is a rival who is skilled at Pokémon battles and has the pride to match. He has joined the Gym Challenge, having received his endorsement from Rose, the chairman of the Galar Pokémon League. While he clearly is aiming to become Champion, he seems to have other objectives as well.


Team Yell
Team Yell is a group of troublemakers who seem to appear everywhere and who attempt to get in the way at every opportunity. They want nothing more than for Marnie to become Champion, so they try to obstruct other challengers. They take over hotel lobbies, prevent challengers from accessing transportation, and even shout and distract opponents during battle. Whenever Marnie battles, these Team Yell Grunts are quick to appear, showing their support with Marnie-print towels and horns.

Poké Jobs Help Pokémon Grow
In the Galar region, people and Pokémon often work together. Corporations and universities request the help of Pokémon through Poké Jobs. Trainers can check for available Poké Jobs at the Rotomi in Pokémon Centers and will be able send Pokémon directly from their Boxes to any job they accept. Trainers will find that certain Pokémon types are suited for specific jobs. The experience gained while on the job will help Pokémon grow, and Trainers may even receive rare items as rewards.

Poké Jobs

In the Galar region, it is very common for people and Pokémon to work together. Many corporations and universities request the help of Pokémon through what are known as Poké Jobs.

You can check available Poké Jobs at the Rotomi in Pokémon Centers, and you’ll also be able to send Pokémon from your Boxes directly to any job you accept!

The Pokémon you send will help out with the job, and the experience will even help them grow. There are many different Poké Jobs available. You’ll find that certain Pokémon types are suited for specific jobs, too. Helping out for a long time or sending as many Pokémon as you can on a job can also net some good results. You might even receive some rare items!

Rotomi

This is Rotomi—your new helper in Pokémon Centers with a ton of features. You can accept jobs from the Rotomi you can find in every Pokémon Center around the Galar region. Rotomi have many different features aside from Poké Jobs, too—you can access your Boxes or even have a go at the Loto-ID!

Niantic has announced that Team GO Rocket has invaded PokéStops in Pokémon GO and that Raids will feature Pokémon that are believe to be significant to Team GO Rocket.

Team GO Rocket invades Pokémon GO!

Trainers! The world of Pokémon GO is in peril. An organization called Team GO Rocket has invaded PokéStops and is in possession of Shadow Pokémon that behave strangely and seem to be in pain. Team GO Rocket is clearly up to no good, and we need your help! Professor Willow and the team leaders have been hard at work observing and researching these happenings with Team GO Rocket, and they’ve come up with a plan to restore the PokéStops and rescue the Shadow Pokémon!

1. Encounter Team GO Rocket — Spark and Professor Willow have observed Team GO Rocket members hanging out at discolored PokéStops. It appears they’re after the PokéStops’ resources!

2. Battle Team GO Rocket — Once you begin the encounter with a Team GO Rocket Grunt, they’ll challenge you to a battle. We’re counting on you to accept their challenge and defeat them!

3. Catch the Shadow Pokémon — After a successful battle, you’ll have an opportunity to catch a Shadow Pokémon that Team GO Rocket carelessly abandoned. Candela and Professor Willow discovered that these Pokémon look unusual and behave strangely because Team GO Rocket tried to make them stronger through unnatural means. After additional research, Professor Willow has also found that Shadow Pokémon can’t be traded away by the Trainer who rescued them unless they’re Purified first!

4. Purify the Shadow Pokémon — Thanks to all your research, Blanche and Professor Willow have discovered a process called Purification. Not only does Purification help Shadow Pokémon return to a more normal state, but Purified Pokémon can also become stronger than their normal counterparts due to the gratitude they feel toward the Trainer who saved them!

Tips for Leveling Up, Evolving, and Battling Sync Pairs in Pokémon Masters

In Pokémon Masters, you'll explore the artificial island of Pasio, teaming up with famous Trainers to compete in 3-on-3 battles that take place in real time as you work toward becoming the champion of the Pokémon Masters League (PML) tournament. Each Trainer has one trusted Pokémon they compete with—this partnership is known as a sync pair, and it's the foundation of every Pokémon Masters team. Building a diverse roster of sync pairs, developing their skills, and pairing them in teams that highlight their strengths are the keys to being successful in your journey.

How to Play Pokémon Masters | Pokémon Battling

Building a team of sync pairs powerful enough to take on the toughest foes in the Pokémon Masters League can be tricky, so check out our tips on how to develop your sync pairs and navigate battles. We'll break down the qualities that make each sync pair unique, describe how to improve their strengths, and give some tips on winning battles, too.

How to Play Pokémon Masters | Moves

Introducing Sync Pairs

Each sync pair has a level and six stats—HP, Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, and Speed. The stats function similarly to how they do in other Pokémon games—HP represents how healthy a Pokémon is; Attack determines the power of physical moves, which can be guarded against by Defense; Special Attack and Special Defense are the same for special moves; and Speed affects the rate the move gauge fills. Your sync pair's current strength is denoted by its level, which you can increase by earning Experience Points (XP) for completing battles. Each time a sync pair levels up, its stats will increase.

Each sync pair also has a number of ★s associated with it that indicates its potential and determines its level cap. The first sync pairs to join your team, including the Main Character & Pikachu, are 3★ and max out at Lv. 30 initially. The strongest sync pairs are 5★ and can reach Lv. 40. You'll gain the ability to increase the level cap of your sync pairs early in the game. You can also increase their ★s using rare items, so eventually any sync pair can become 5★. Only a 5★ sync pair that has had its level cap fully unlocked can reach Lv. 100.

How to Play Pokémon Masters | Sync Pairs

Sync pairs start out with just two moves—usually a Pokémon attack and Trainer move. Using Pokémon moves in battle will deplete your move gauge, which will gradually recover over time. Trainer moves won't deplete the move gauge, but they can only be used a limited number of times each battle. Sync pairs can learn more moves with the help of certain items.

The usual type matchup chart from Pokémon video games doesn't apply in Pokémon Masters. Each sync pair instead has one or two type strengths and a single type weakness, and that weakness might be different even between sync pairs of the same type. Taking advantage of the opponent's weaknesses is key to winning battles in Pokémon Masters, you'll want to develop sync pairs of each type.

In addition to a type, each sync pair also has a role—strike, support, or tech. Strike sync pairs tend to have high Attack or Special Attack but lower HP. Support sync pairs are on the opposite end of the spectrum—they usually have higher HP, lower offensive stats, and typically learn moves that restore HP or increase their teammates' stats. Tech sync pairs tend to focus more on impacting the battle indirectly with tricky tactics like inflicting status conditions.

Developing Your Sync Pairs

There are several ways to increase the strength of your sync pairs, and with some effort, you can help any sync pair reach Lv. 100. You'll get XP each time you clear a battle, but helping your sync pairs reach their initial level caps is just the start of their training. Other training opportunities come when you use items, most of which can be earned by completing battles.

Once you earn your first badge from a PML Leader, you'll receive special area info that unlocks the ability to extend your sync pair's level cap. You'll need to invest some items each time you do this, and the items you need will vary a little depending on the role of the sync pair you're enhancing. It'll require progressively more and rarer items each time you unlock a particular sync pair's level cap.

You can also help your sync pairs learn new moves and passive skills by talking to Trinnia at the café in the Pokémon Center. The first new move your sync pair learns will require only five Training Machines, an item you'll quickly amass a decent stockpile of. Learning subsequent moves and passive skills requires progressively rarer items in much greater quantities, and you'll need different items depending on the role of the sync pair you're enhancing.

To maximize your sync pairs' strength, you'll also need to scout more sync pairs. Scouting duplicate sync pairs will increase the strength of the original sync pair's sync move, and scouting duplicate sync pairs is also the path toward getting the rare items that can increase the ★s of your sync pairs.

Getting Items by Training

One of the ways to develop your sync pairs is to battle in the training area, which you'll discover early in the story. There are four different types of training areas—Level Up, Strike, Support, and Tech. Level-up courses will net you level-up manuals to immediately give a sync pair XP, while the latter three courses are a great source of the role-specific items that help your sync pairs learn new moves and passive skills. These courses can be done repeatedly to collect lots of items.

Once your team gets more powerful, you can also do supercourse training. These more challenging courses can only be completed a certain number of times per day, but the rewards will be far greater than their regular equivalents. You can unlock higher difficulties of both supercourses and courses by defeating easier ones, and each difficulty of supercourse can be cleared three times each day.

Supercourses are likely to be your first opportunity to get rare items like Ultra Tech Tonic and Ultra Aid Ade, but your team will need to be pretty powerful to clear these battles. So try to build up your sync pairs enough to clear these battles for their rewards as soon as you can.

You can also exchange common versions of these items for more powerful versions at the shop. You'll need to trade 50 Great Buff Blends to get the much rarer Ultra Buff Blend, for example.

Evolving Pokémon in Pokémon Masters

You can strengthen certain sync pairs through Evolution! Human Trainers in the game can't evolve, but some of the Pokémon can evolve to make the sync pair stronger.

The first sync pairs with Pokémon you can help evolve are likely to be those with first-partner Pokémon from past games, such as Barry and Piplup and Rosa and Snivy. Each of these sync pairs will need to be at least Lv. 30 to evolve the first time, at which point you'll obtain area info related to their Evolution. You'll also need Evolution materials, which you can purchase in the shop for 1,000 coins. Coins can be earned in the game several different ways.

You'll then need to complete a special battle unique to that sync pair. Be ready for a tough fight if you run off to battle the moment your sync pair reaches the minimum level required—the opponents in these bouts are no pushovers! If you win the battle, the Pokémon in that sync pair will evolve, becoming more powerful. Note that the sync pair will maintain its previous level even after the Pokémon evolves. You can keep trying until you succeed if you come up short. You'll need the Pokémon in some sync pairs to evolve fully before the duo can use their most powerful sync move, including both Barry & Piplup and Rosa & Snivy.

Speaking of Rosa & Snivy (or Servine, or Serperior), the first 5★ sync pair to join your group is a great partner for the initial areas of the game. Many sync pairs learn a second Pokémon attack as their third move, but Rosa can learn Time to Energize! This powerful move immediately fills three slots of the move gauge, allowing you to fire off a quick volley of attacks that will get you launching sync moves in a hurry. Matching Rosa & Snivy with sync pairs that can exploit the weakness of your opponents will get you through the game's early battles in no time.

Before you start a battle, you'll get a hint about your opponents' weaknesses to help you select your team. You can also select the Area Details button to get even more info, which sometimes include the type of strategies your opponents might employ. You'll have a much easier time if you bring Pokémon that can exploit the opposing side's weaknesses to each battle.

If you aren't sure which sync pairs to use—or you just want to get through a fight in a hurry—you can use the Optimize button when you're selecting your team to automatically use a line-up befitting the type weaknesses of the battle. You can even have your team fight automatically by tapping the Auto button once the battle begins!

There are some cool settings you can tweak when it comes to battles. Consider turning on the handy option to switch automatically to Auto Mode if you're idle too long—that way your team will be able to fight back if you get a little distracted. We particularly suggest turning on the feature that marks the order of upcoming actions, as this makes it much easier to follow the flow of battle.

Many areas have multiple battle encounters within them. Damage from one fight will carry over to the next, as will the remaining uses of Trainer moves. You'll only receive XP, coins, and items if you clear the area completely. If you succeed in clearing the encounter, however, those sync pairs that were knocked out along the way will still gain XP.

Parting Shots

There's a lot to learn about sync pairs and battling on Pasio, but you'll quickly get the hang of making your sync pairs stronger and stronger. In addition to improving the strength of your roster, there are a few other things to keep in mind as you're starting out.

• Don't forget to log in each day to get log-in bonuses and to complete daily missions, which will net you some easy items. New days in the game start at 6:00 a.m. UTC, so make sure to get your rewards for daily missions before then! There are also general missions, which can be completed at any time and function as account-wide achievements.
• Once you complete chapter 5, you'll be able to participate in events, which often have their own event missions. You should definitely prioritize developing sync pairs that have an advantage in ongoing events so you don't miss out on the rewards.
• Each sync pair has a sync pair story that gives you some background about your new allies. They're a lot of fun, and you'll get some easy rewards for completing them, too. This is also where to go to evolve your Pokémon.
• Finally, it's a good stretch goal to work toward increasing the size of your move gauge. By default, it has four slots, but you can upgrade it twice by exchanging coins in the shop. It costs 30,000 coins for the first upgrade and 100,000 for the second.

Today, DeNA Co., Ltd. and The Pokémon Company revealed more gameplay content and features for Pokémon Masters in a new trailer for Pokémon Masters, a real-time strategy and battling game for compatible Android and iOS devices that is planned to release in Summer 2019.

• Cooperative Play – Join two players from around the world for three-player co-op against AI opponents. Work together to unleash the unity attack, a special coordinated attack from all three sync pairs (a sync pair is the combination of a Trainer and their partner Pokémon).
• 3-on-3 Real-Time Battling System – Witness the thrill of the 3-on-3 real-time battling system. The trailer offers a look at Trainers teaming up with their partner Pokémon to unleash powerful sync moves.
• Pokémon Masters League – Compete in the Pokémon Masters League tournament, which features 3-on-3 battles that take place only on the artificial island of Pasio. In this tournament, Gym Leaders, Elite Four members, Champions, and all-stars from every region of the Pokémon world have formed sync pair teams. Players will battle these teams all across Pasio to obtain badges and become champion of the Pokémon Masters League.
• Sygna Suits (not pictured in trailer) – Special outfits that Trainers can wear into battle. When Trainers wear a Sygna Suit, their partner Pokémon changes to match. For example, when Brock dons his Sygna Suit, he teams up with Tyranitar instead of Onix.

	Sawyer Rachel Sawyer supports Lear as part of his loyal staff. Rachel respect Lear for his single-minded seriousness, despite his arrogant nature.
	Paulo and Rockruff Paulo is a rival Trainer who also aims to make it to the Pokémon Masters League (PML). An exceptional student with a strong sense of justice, he's collecting badges just one step ahead of the main character.

The Nintendo Switch Lite system launches Sept. 20 at a suggested retail price of $199.99 and will be available in three different colors: yellow, gray and turquoise. A carrying case and screen protector set for Nintendo Switch Lite will also be available.

"Mewtwo Strikes Back"'s LA Premiere was a Huge Success! We Also Release the Latest News on Pokémon GO, as Well as a Special Video That Features Rita Ora's Singing!!

"Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution" was invited to the largest anime convention in North America, "Anime Expo 2019" in Los Angeles, USA, where it had its LA premiere Thursday July 4th (local time)!

This first international screening was attended by the person indispensable to Pokémon, Satoshi's voice actress Rica Matsumoto, as well as Director Kunihiko Yuyama and Director Motonori Sakakibara.

The day before the premiere, the three of them visited the entrance of TCL Chinese Theatre, where the premiere of the first Pokémon movie, "Pocket Monsters the Movie: Mewtwo Strikes Back", had taken place.
As they were standing at this spot that had become "the Pokémon movies' first step towards the world", they talked about their thoughts towards the next day's screening, which was going to be this movie's overseas debut.



Matsumoto:
There's going to be so many people watching the movie with us I get goosebumps at the mere mention of the premiere. All kinds of people continue to love the Pokémon World, including both the video games and the movies, and I would love if it could connect them and form a circle of happy faces. Let's get smiles!

I came to America to see an actual screening of the first movie back when it was in theaters here, and it was a very novel experience to witness the audience yelling "Yay!" during the opening and when Satoshi made his appearance. Now I'm back in America again after 21 years, and I'm really excited to see how the movie will be received this time.

Director Sakakibara
3DCG animation is mainstream in America, so I'm looking forward to seeing how the movie will be received. I was working on a movie back when the first Pokémon movie premiered, and when I saw with my own eyes that a movie like that, a product of the Japanese entertainment industry, became such a massive blockbuster, I was thinking how I really wanted to make a movie like that myself one day. Though I'm still astonished I got to work on one now, 20 years later.

On the day of the LA premiere itself, Anime Expo hosted an autograph session, a screening of the Japanese version of the feature film with English subtitles, as well as stage greetings.
At the autograph session, we got both fans cosplaying Satoshi taking photos with Matsumoto and fans that wanted their personal Pokémon memorabilia autographed.
Some fans had even been waiting in line all night, and they exploded with joy when they got their autograph, showing just how much it meant to them.



When the screening finally begun, the audience burst out in loud cheers.
Adults and children displayed a variety of emotions as they were taking in the movie; One moment they were watching the opening scene where Mewtwo swears revenge on the humans with their eyes glued to the screen as they sat there in complete silence, the next they were roaring with laughter as the Rocket Gang made their appearance, and at the end they were watching the exchange between Satoshi and Pikachu with their cheeks wet with tears.

And when the post-screening stage greetings began, Matsumoto, Director Yuyama and Director Sakakibara received a warm welcome by the local fans, who greeted them with loud cheers and thunderous applause.



Matsumoto:
I'm seeing the earliest days of Pokémon flash before my eyes, and I really wish I could've told everyone back then that a day like this would come. Seeing your reactions, like how you cheer loudly out of love for Pokémon, brings tears to my eyes.

Director Yuyama:
I've made more than 20 Pokémon movies so far, but this is the first 3DCG one, so this time I was watching your reactions to it with the same excitement as if this was my debut movie. What did you all think of it? (the audience applauded loudly)

Director Sakakibara:
I could feel the Pokémon love in your cheers, and it made me really happy we made this movie. This is an amazing feeling.

When Matsumoto performed "Mezase Pokémon Master", the enthusiasm from the audience hit its absolute peak.
The phrase "Pokémon is a universal language" truly fits this situation, and Matsumoto, Director Yuyama and Director Sakakibara all got caught up in the whirlpool of enthusiasm the LA premiere had turned into!
They truly had a blast as the event concluded with a commemorative photo taken with roughly 2800 Pokémon fans.
After the highly successful LA premiere had concluded, Matsumoto commented "All kinds of things were coming to my mind and I got deeply moved, thinking about how it's really been 21 years now. I'm really grateful I've had all this, it's something very few people will ever be able to feel or experience. I'm happy to have shared my song and thoughts with all you LA fans."

The movie and Pokémon GO are having a crossover! Armored Mewtwo makes its appearance!
A Pokémon GO promotion video that utilized various scenes from "Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution", a crossover between the two, premiered at Anime Expo.
Armored Mewtwo, the restrained form from the movie that suppresses Mewtwo's power, will appear in Pokémon GO between Thursday July 11th and Wednesday July 31st Japanese time.
And if you win a raid battle against it, you'll have the chance to get Armored Mewtwo as well!

A special promotion video set to one of singer Rita Ora's songs has been released!
A special promotion video for "Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution" featuring one of Rita Ora's songs was released as well. Rita Ora is an artist popular all over the world that also handled the theme song for "Detective Pikachu", which was released in May this year.
This is a must see video where Ora's bright, clear and wonderful singing goes perfectly with the beautiful 3DCG Pokémon world.



The LA premiere came to an end amidst great enthusiasm.
The Japanese premiere finally takes place Friday July 12th!
