POKÉMON AND DANIEL ARSHAM TEAM UP FOR ART COLLABORATION
Daniel Arsham × Pokémon Project To Feature Sculptures of Iconic Pokémon
TOKYO – February 28, 2020 – The Pokémon Company has unveiled the Daniel Arsham × Pokémon project with American artist, Daniel Arsham, featuring icons of the Pokemon franchise presented within the artist’s creative concept of “fictional archeology.” Through his work, people are invited to imagine the unearthing of Pokémon a thousand years from now and experience the passage of time. On the surface, Daniel Arsham’s Pokémon sculptures may look weathered, but closer examination of the excavated future of Pokémon exposes a crystallized brilliance.
"The fictional archaeology is really an idea of taking all of the objects from our present day and imagining as if we were an archeologist in the future and looking at these objects from our everyday life or our everyday experience,” said Daniel Arsham. “I think there’s something kind of prolific and impactful about trying to step outside of our own time frame. It gives us a perspective of our own experiences and lives. Through these works, I hope to be able to shift people’s understanding about time in general. "
“Pokémon evolved as a brand by embracing new technologies and collaborating with partners from new fields ranging from data communication systems and geolocation-related technologies to partners in fashion and art,” said Tsunekazu Ishihara, CEO of The Pokémon Company. “I’m delighted to welcome Daniel Arsham as our collaboration partner. Through his work, my wish is for people around the world to ‘dig deep’ into their imaginations and think about what Pokémon would look like in a thousand years.” Additional details about the collaboration will be announced later this spring.
About Daniel Arsham
Daniel Arsham (born 1980 in Ohio) is an American artist. Daniel Arsham straddles the line between art, architecture, and performance. Raised in Miami, Arsham attended the the Cooper Union in New York City. The producer of Pokémon Master Yu Sasaki posted an open letter about the game on the Pokémon Master's official website. The letter addresses the Six-Months Celebration Content, the Battle Villa Overview and also talked about upcoming features.
A Message from the Pokémon Masters Team (Vol. 7)
Greetings, Trainers. We’re the producers of Pokémon Masters, Yu Sasaki and Tetsuya Iguchi, here with a new message for you.
We’re quickly approaching the six-month mark since the launch of Pokémon Masters, and we’re truly grateful for your support.
Our Six Months Celebration begins tomorrow. Over the course of the next month, we’ll be adding the long-awaited Battle Villa feature, as well as new story events.
We hope you enjoy this new content, and we’re looking forward to hearing your feedback.
Six-Months Celebration Content
We’ve prepared a variety of special content and bonuses to celebrate six months of Pokémon Masters.
Red will make his highly anticipated debut on Pasio. Red & Charizard will be a powerful sync pair, so we hope you’re excited to see their skills firsthand.
Story events now feature an event map to help you progress through them. Make your way through the event map using travel tokens obtained via event battles. As you progress through the event map, you can access new areas and receive a variety of rewards. We hope you enjoy this all-new feature!
The Battle Villa will be added as a new place to battle on Pasio. This new battle challenge allows many more sync pairs to show off their skills at a time, so be sure to give it a shot!
Check out the makeover we’ve given the Pokémon Center, too!
During the celebration, receive over 10,000 gems from log-in bonuses, missions, and more.
Battle Villa Overview
The Battle Villa provides a new way to battle. Here’s a look at this exciting new challenge.
The Battle Villa is a special challenge where you form a roster of up to nine sync pairs and battle your way through a series of battle stages known as halls, with your ultimate goal being to win in the final hall before the challenge period ends.
You can earn lots of completion rewards by completing these battles, including special rewards called lucky cookies and lucky scrolls. You can use the lucky cookies and lucky scrolls to teach your sync pairs new lucky skills. At the end of the challenge period, you can earn final milestone rewards, such as gems that correspond to the number of halls you completed during the challenge period.
In the Battle Villa, your allies’ HP and Move Points (MP) remaining at the end of a battle carry over to the next battle. You’ll need to come up with all-new battle strategies, such as using high-endurance support sync pairs to protect your hard-hitting strike sync pairs. Your opponents’ HP also carry over, so you might need to rely on your whole roster of sync pairs to emerge victorious from the halls of the Battle Villa.
Mastering the capabilities of many different sync pairs will work to your advantage in this special challenge, so start training and aim to conquer the Battle Villa!
Battle Villa progress resets at regular intervals, so if you’re having trouble advancing through the halls, you can train up your sync pairs and try again in your next Battle Villa challenge!
Update Details
We’re working to provide additional details for upcoming content. Thank you for your patience.
We currently have a number of plans in the pipeline, including introducing Pokémon Eggs, as well as making various improvements to legendary events and the Sync Grid feature.
