Super Smash Bros. Ultimate will include every single fighter ever featured in the series’ nearly two-decade run, making it one of the biggest crossover events in gaming history. Fans can enjoy returning favorites like Ice Climbers and Pokémon Trainer, as well as newly announced fighters like Ridley from the Metroid series and Inkling from the Splatoon series. The game supports a variety of controller options, including Nintendo GameCube controllers (original or newly designed), Joy-Con controllers or the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller. The action never stops with Fortnite on Nintendo Switch, where players can build and battle together anytime, anywhere. Team up online with friends in the same room or around the world. Weekly updates and new gameplay modes will keep the action fresh for seasoned Fortnite players and newcomers alike.

Players can even transfer Kanto region Pokémon into the game from the Pokémon GO app. These games serve as an entry point to the Pokémon series for newcomers, but they also provide fun and engaging experiences for Pokémon fans of all ages. A new accessory, called Poké Ball Plus, comes with Mythical Pokémon, Mew and is sold separately from the games. Poké Ball Plus includes a pressable analog stick and button, so players can control the new games entirely with the accessory, if they want. Nintendo is announcing two bundles, in which players can get Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! with one Poké Ball Plus at a suggested retail price of $99.99 each.

The official Pokémon movie website has updated. Translations follow:

The theme song for "Pocket Monsters the Movie: Everyone's Story" has been decided!
This year, the theme song will be "Breath", which has been written specifically for the movie by Porno Graffitti.
This is a song that carries a warm melody while strings on real instruments are impressively throbbing away alongside a simple track where the number of sounds have been tightened down as much as possible.
It's a song that synchronizes with the movie's story, and that has lyrics that encourage not letting yourself get swept away by the opinions that surround you, not losing sight of your true self, but to continue onwards towards the future you believe in.
A promo video that utilizes the song has also been released: This is a special video that allows you to listen to the sound source earlier than anywhere else.

Porno Graffitti's New Single: "Breath"
Release date: Wednesday July 25th 2018
Start date for digital distro: Friday July 6th 2018

*Anime edition: CD+DVD SECL-2310~2311 1600 yen

Comments from Porno Graffitti:

Comment from Akihito Okano
I am extremely honored that I get to handle the theme song.
I am positive that once they've watched this movie, everyone will brighten up and become filled with the strength to head towards tomorrow.
We made this song hoping that it could encourage those people and give them a push forward, even if it only acts as a slight breeze.
I think of it as a pop song that I believe adds flowers to the movie in our own special way.

Comment from Haruichi Shindo
I got the opportunity to consult the director before starting to work on this song.
He told me that this year's movie is a story where the characters that appear all deal with their own respective little problems and manage to overcome them.
It would be great if humans could also change their form and appearance drastically the way Pokémon do when they "evolve", but since they can't, we have no choice but to encourage the people we currently are. This is what I was wondering if I'd be able to express through song.

Porno Graffitti's profile:

Okano and Shindo are from Innoshima Island, Hiroshima. They formed a band while in high school. Then, in 1999, they accomplished a powerful major debut with their first single, "Apollo".
They were immediately widely recognized as a new type of artists, and when they released their 3rd single, "Music Hour", the next year, they became the talk of the town that summer. Their 4th single, "Saudade", was a huge hit, as were singles like "Saboten", "Agehacho", "Melissa", "Ai ga yobu hou e", etc. In 2004, 5 years after their debut, they released their two first best-of albums, "PORNO GRAFFITTI BEST RED'S" and "PORNO GRAFFITTI BEST BLUE'S", at the same time, which not only got them their first no 1 position on the Oricon album charts, they were such record-breaking hits they monopolized both the first AND second position on the chart for two weeks in a row.
In 2013, 15 years after their major debut, they released the best-of album "PORNOGRAFFITTI 15th Anniversary “ALL TIME SINGLES”", which included all their singles, grabbing the no 1 spot on the Oricon Weekly Chart.
In 2015, they released "RHINOCEROS", their 10th original album and their first one in 3 and a half years, and it too grabbed the no 1 spot on both the daily and weekly Oricon charts.
Last year, in March 2017, they held their first solo concert in Taiwan. They were so popular the initially announced first-day concert tickets sold out immediately, so they held a second concert the next day. They were riding on that momentum last summer, so in addition to making energetic appearances at huge music festivals like "ROCK IN JAPAN FESTIVAL 2017", "MONSTER baSH 2017", "SPACE SHOWER SWEET LOVE SHOWER 2017" and the like they also went on a long tour all across Japan, holding 39 concerts in 32 locations, and everything sold out the first day tickets went on sale.
The momentum hasn't stopped yet either, as their latest single "Chameleon Lens", which was released Wednesday March 21st 2018, has become the talk of the town alongside "Holiday Love" on the TV Asahi Network, which it serves as the theme song for.
Porno Graffitti still have fans from multiple generations, and now that they're approaching the 20th anniversary of their debut, they've decided hold outdoors concerts on September 8th and 9th 2018 in their birthplace Hiroshima to kick off the year of their 20th anniversary.

Press Release - POKÉMON GAMES UNVEILED FOR NINTENDO SWITCH

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! Arrive This November Featuring Interactivity with Pokémon GO

During a special Pokémon press conference in Tokyo today, The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo announced three new ways to play Pokémon for Nintendo Switch™—Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu!, Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, and the free-to-start Pokémon Quest. With the addition of these new titles, Pokémon is broadening the scope of video game offerings from the franchise to appeal to its wide variety of fans at all player levels. Pokémon also announced that the next introduction to its popular core RPG series, which was teased last year at E3, will arrive in late 2019 on Nintendo Switch for the first time.

Pokémon: Let’s Go Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!
With Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee!, Pokémon is inviting fans on a new journey by taking them back to a familiar setting. Inspired by Pokémon Yellow, which was originally released in Japan on Nintendo’s Game Boy in 1998, these two new titles feature many of the intuitive gameplay functions offered to players in the hugely popular Pokémon GO and are designed for players taking their first steps into the Pokémon video game world. Trainers will embark on an epic adventure set in the iconic Kanto region joined by their trusty Pikachu in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Eevee in Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! They feature brand new gameplay to make the most of the unique capabilities of Nintendo Switch, such as throwing Poké Balls to catch Pokémon by swinging Joy-Con™ controllers, as well as the opportunity for family and friends to battle and explore together in a new two-player mode. The games were unveiled in partnership with GAME FREAK, the games’ developers and original creators of the Pokémon video game franchise.

“With the launch of Pokémon GO in 2016 and the global sensation that ensued, millions of new players were introduced to the world of Pokémon,” said Junichi Masuda, director at GAME FREAK inc. “For many people, Pokémon GO was their first experience with the Pokémon brand, so we have crafted these two new titles to be an accessible entry point to our core RPG series while giving our longtime fans a new way to play Pokémon.”

The connection between these two new titles and Pokémon GO doesn’t end there - literally. GAME FREAK and The Pokémon Company teamed up with Niantic to bring next-level innovation by offering players the ability to connect their Pokémon GO to their Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! game. Players can catch Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region in Pokémon GO and then transfer them into their Nintendo Switch adventure. Something special will also be coming to the world of Pokémon GO, making the connection between both games even more appealing for Trainers. Details for this will be revealed in the near future.

The Poké Ball Plus* a device that can be used to play Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! in place of a Joy-Con or alongside Pokémon GO instead of the Pokémon GO Plus, was also unveiled, continuing the innovative ways to connect the games. The Poké Ball Plus features motion controls, lights up with a variety of colors, vibrates, and plays sounds. When catching a Pokémon in the Nintendo Switch games, players will be able to feel it moving within the device. It also does more than function as a controller—using the Poké Ball Plus, players can bring one of their Pokémon from Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! or Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! with them as they explore the real world, giving Trainers the opportunity to spend time with favorite Pokémon even when they’re not playing the game. Additionally, Trainers can receive a variety of rewards once Pokémon are returned to the Nintendo Switch games.

Pokémon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Pokémon: Let’s Go, Eevee! will launch on 16 November 2018, exclusively on Nintendo Switch. The Poké Ball Plus will be available at participating retailers on the same day.

Story

The Pokémon movies take a new step forward.

It has been one year since the 20th anniversary blockbuster "I Choose You!".
Young talent has been added to the production team, starting on the top with the director, and the all new Pokémon movie "Everyone's Story" has finally been created.
This summer, we want you too to take a step forward alongside everyone, towards an adventure nobody has ever seen before.

Once a year, a "wind festival" is held in Fura City,
the city where people live together with the wind.
On the final day of the festival, the legendary Pokémon Lugia will appear and give the people the blessed wind,
a promise said to date back to the distant past.

Lisa, the highschooler and Pokémon rookie.
Kagachi, the braggart that just can't stop telling tall tales.
Trito, the timid researcher that lacks confidence.
Hisui, the old eccentric that hates Pokémon.
Largo, the mysterious little girl that hangs around in the forest all by herself.

pic

While they're participating in the festival,
Satoshi and Pikachu meets these five companions by pure coincidence. Each of them has their own worries on their mind,
and are unable to take a step forward together with their partner Pokémon,
but when they meet each other, the cogs of destiny start turning......

Will the promise with Lugia be kept?
And just what is the true identity of the mythical Pokémon Zeraora??

Everyone's friendship, both people's and Pokémon's, will now cause a miracle to occur.

LARGO (Partner Pokémon: The Thunderclap Pokémon Zeraora)

A little girl living in Fura City, and the mayor's daughter. She's a resolute and kind little lady. It appears she has something to do with the mythical Pokémon Zeraora, but...

Voice: Mana Ashida
I think the bond between Satoshi and Pikachu, as well as between people and Pokémon in general, is wonderful and something to envy, so I got really happy when I was offered a role in the movie. Pokémon are so cute, and they really make you want to live together with them! Largo is strong-willed, but really innocent and gentle, and since everyone watching this movie also have something they want to protect, I hope that me playing this role will make them realize they can work hard and become stronger. I want to do my best to get on the same page as you all!

A highschooler and Pokémon rookie. She came to the wind festival in order to get an Eievui, which she had promised her injured little brother.

Voice: Rina Kawaei
It's a genuine honor to be able to take part in the world of Pokémon, a world that a broad generation of people are familiar with, from kids to adults. I haven't had many opportunities to voice act yet, so I'm happy to be given this chance, and I practice a lot at home!! I want to do my absolute utmost to properly get across both the energetic aspect of Lisa, as well as her bond with Eievui and her relationship with the other characters in the movie!

TRITO (Partner Pokémon: The Egg Pokémon Lucky)

A Pokémon researcher who's bad at talking to others. He's participating in the wind festival in order to make a presentation related to his research, but he lacks the confidence and ends up just sitting there getting consoled by Lucky.

Voice: Gaku Hamada
I'm part of the generation that experienced Pokémon as a social phenomenon, where everyone played the video games and sang "Pokémon ieru ka na?" all the time, so when I got offered this role I got so excited I ended up inadvertently shouting "Yeah!". When I look at the Pokémon that appear in this year's movie, especially my partner Lucky, I get filled with nostalgia. I hope that I and everyone else will be able to put together a new story so that we don't dishonor the tradition.
thumbnail
KAGACHI (Partner Pokémon: The Imitation Pokémon Usokkie)

A braggart that just can't stop telling tall tales. He visited the wind festival together with his beloved niece. It appears Usokkie adores him for a very particular reason. He talks about how "There's a super rare Pokémon in this city!", but...

Voice: Koji Ohkura
It's been said that I don't fit the Pokémon franchise, so the fact that a day where I got to be involved with the franchise eventually showed up was... quite shocking. I thought Kagachi was a difficult role to play, but I also think it's a role that especially adults can sympathize with. Since I'm so good at playing people that are going through something (laughs), I want to do my absolute utmost when it comes to this role, first of all to properly fit the movie, but more than anything in order to make children happy.
thumbnail
HISUI (Partner Pokémon: The Big Jaw Pokémon Waninoko)

An old woman living in Fura City that hates Pokémon. She started avoiding Pokémon because of something that happened in the past, but for some reason a lot of Pokémon follow her around, including a Waninoko.

Voice: Masako Nozawa
Although I initially misunderstood and thought I was being offered the role of "Waninoko" (laughs), I was still very happy I got to be a part of this movie. Since Pokémon has a very sweet and lovely atmosphere, I thought we were really far removed from one another, so I was really shocked by the offer. Me in a Pokémon movie?! The Hisui character fancies herself as normal, but from other people's point of view she's a bit eccentric... but also someone near and dear. I hope I will be able to express this when playing the role.

RIKU

Lisa's younger brother. A young boy that loves Pokémon. He's hospitalized because of an injured leg.

Voice: Shoko Nakagawa
Once again, a new wind is blowing in the Pokémon movie, and I'm already super excited! In addition to the nostalgia felt from all the extremely familiar Pokémon that appear in this year's movie, it also combines this nostalgia with a very unique freshness, including the invigorating look of Satoshi's face, and I hope I can once again portray the kind of strength and weakness that you'll be able to truly feel because it's Pokémon.

MAYOR OLIVER

The mayor of Fura City and Largo's father. He is a strict man with a strong sense of responsibility. He is constantly on the move in order to ensure that the wind festival is a success.

Voice: Koichi Yamadera
I was wondering if I'd be dropped from the Pokémon movies after the 20th anniversary, so I was really relieved I got to take a part in this year's movie as well. Last year I came up with a certain unique cry in response to the director's completely unreasonable demands, so I'm wondering what kind of crazy challenges I'll get this year...... I'm looking forward to it already. Since I'm going to play the father of Mana-chan's character Largo, my goal will be to be a father she won't be embarrassed by. I want to play the role so that she never ends up saying something like "Stop it, Yama-chan"!!

Mythical Pokémon Zeraora

The Mythical Pokémon Zeraora appears like a thunderbolt! This Pokémon creates a powerful magnetic field by emitting strong electric currents from the pads on its hands and feet. It can use this magnetic field to levitate and move through the air at high speed. Its max speed is said to be about the same as that of a lightning strike.

Unlike most Electric-type Pokémon, it doesn’t have an organ within its body that can produce electricity. However, it is able to gather and store electricity from outside sources, then use it as its own electric energy. When it uses massive amounts of electricity, its fur stands on end all over its body.

Note that log-in bonuses will be available only for a limited time.

  • As part of Pokémon’s legendary year, the Legendary Pokémon Kyurem is now available, and in the right deck it’ll be able to change its form. Both Black Kyurem and White Kyurem, which have drawn their power from the Legendary Pokémon Reshiram and Zekrom, have also been introduced with this update.
