A new figure has been announced that is part of the Pokémon Figure Series. ARTFX J Serena with Fokko was revealed on February 14th, 2017 for pre-order in Japan. It is the third figure in the series with Red and Haruka already released. High resolution pictures of this figure have been added to an Imageboard thread.

Johto Pokémon coming to Pokémon Go / Trading, Real-world Events and PvP Battling Later in 2017
Niantic has announced numerous updates are coming to Pokémon Go in 2017 starting with Johto Pokémon coming to the game later this week. In an interview with Niantic CEO John Hanke, Waypoint confirmed that Trading, Real-world Events and PvP Battling will hopefully be added to the game later in 2017.
Additional Pokémon: More than 80 Pokémon that were originally discovered in the Johto region in the Pokémon Gold and Pokémon Silver video games, as well as Pokémon with gender-specific variations, will start rolling out in Pokémon GO.
New Evolutions: There are now more opportunities to evolve your Pokémon in Pokémon GO than ever before. Some Pokémon originally discovered in the Kanto region will soon be able to evolve—into Pokémon that inhabit the Johto region! Be on the lookout for new Evolution items at PokéStops, which you’ll need to evolve some Pokémon.
New Encounter Gameplay: When you encounter Pokémon in the wild, don’t be surprised if they react in new ways as you’re trying to catch them. You’ll also notice the addition of new item carousels that allow you to select Berries and Poké Balls directly from the encounter screen. Hone your skills and catch those elusive Pokémon!
New Berries: Pokémon enjoy eating Berries, and you’ll have the opportunity to get two new Berries by spinning the Photo Disc at PokéStops—Nanab Berries and Pinap Berries! Giving a Pokémon a Nanab Berry will slow its movements, making it easier to catch. The Pinap Berry doubles the amount of Candy you’ll receive if your next catch attempt succeeds.
New Avatars and an Expanded Wardrobe: Now you’ll be able to give your avatar a complete upgrade! Customize your look with a whole new selection of hats, shirts, pants, and other items.

The official Japanese Pokémon website has announced a tie-in Event Pokémon Distribution with an advertising campaign for Pokémon Sun and Moon with Olympic Gold Medalist Saori Yoshida (吉田 沙保里) that began in late January 2017. Saori is a highly decorated Japanese freestyle wrestler and the commercials for the games feature Saori and Kairiky.
Saori's Kairiky (サオリのカイリキー) will be distributed at participating 7-Eleven, Tsutaya, Pokémon Centers and Pokémon Stores from February 8th, 2017 until February 28th, 2017.

The Pokémon Company International announced today that Pokémon Duel is now available for download at no charge on the App Store and on Google Play. The game is a rebranded and renamed version of Pokémon Komaster. Images from the press release have been added to an Imageboard thread.

Players can duel against real opponents at any time by tapping League Match on the Home screen. They will then be automatically matched, according to skill, with other players around the world. A variety of items, including Pokémon figures, can be earned through Time Boosters that are unlocked with every League victory. Winning League matches also increases the player’s rating and provides a chance to get different Pokémon figures as they compete in higher-level leagues.
More plates and Boosters can be purchased at the Shop within the app. Materials collected from purchased Boosters can be traded for desired Pokémon. In-game currency known as Gems can be purchased at the Shop or earned in several ways, such as by playing Pokémon Duel daily and clearing missions.

Nintendo Fully Reveals Nintendo Switch
Nintendo announced the full Nintendo Switch details as part of their Nintendo Switch Presentation 2017 which was streamed online on January 13th, 2017 from Japan. Despite the rumours, no Pokémon related games or products for the Nintendo Switch were announced as part of the launch presentation but Nintendo did say there were over 80 games in development, so a Pokémon game will inevitably be announced some time in the future. Nintendo disappointed many fans around the world for the extremely high price of the system compared to the price of previous generations and Nintendo's current competitors which are similarly priced but have significantly better hardware specs. Shares in Nintendo were down 5.75% in trading on the Japanese market as the high price caught many fans and the industry as a whole off guard as they were expecting a more competitive price point.
The system will include the main console, Joy-Con (L) and Joy-Con (R) controllers, a Joy-Con grip (to which two Joy-Con are attached and used as one controller), a set of Joy-Con wrist straps, a Nintendo Switch dock (which holds the main console and connects it to a TV), an HDMI cable and an AC adapter. Two stylish versions of the system will be released: a version with a set of gray Joy-Con, and a version with one neon blue and one neon red Joy-Con. Both versions will be the same price.
“Nintendo Switch is a brand-new kind of home gaming system that offers a wide variety of play modes,” said Nintendo President Tatsumi Kimishima. “We will introduce the world to new experiences made possible by the unique characteristics of the Nintendo Switch hardware and the Joy-Con.”

The right Joy-Con includes an NFC touchpoint for interaction with amiibo figures, as well as an IR Motion Camera that can detect the distance, shape and motion of nearby objects in specially designed games. For example, it can tell how far away a player’s hand is, and even if the hand is forming a rock, paper or scissors shape. Both Joy-Con include advanced HD Rumble, which can provide compatible games with subtle vibrations that are much more realistic than before. The effect is so detailed that a player could, for example, feel the sensation of individual ice cubes colliding inside a glass when shaking a Joy-Con. With HD Rumble players can experience a level of realism not possible through sights and sounds alone.
Nintendo Switch makes it easy for players to stay connected. Up to eight systems can be connected for local wireless play. The player can place the system upright anywhere by using the built-in stand, then easily share Joy-Con for multiplayer fun away from the TV. The system will support online Wi-Fi multiplayer gaming. We are pleased to share that—as of December 7—the Pokémon GO community has collectively walked more than 8.7 billion kilometers. That’s more than 200,000 trips around Earth! Fun fact: A commercial jetliner would take more than 1,000 years to cover the same distance. While covering this distance, Trainers also caught more than 88 billion Pokémon along the way. That’s roughly 533 million Pokémon a day!
Get out and go this holiday season, and let’s add some more kilometers to that total! Thank you for your continued support!

The December 15th, 2016 episode of Oha Suta revealed the trailer and poster for the 20th Pocket Monsters Movie - I choose you!. The title of the movie shares a similar name as the first episode of the original series of Pocket Monsters. The movie will debut in Japan on July 15th, 2017. The official movie website updated a little while after the airing of Oha Suta with the trailer, poster and a background picture featuring Ho-oh, Satoshi and Pikachu. Images from Oha Suta, the trailer and the website have been added to an Imageboard thread.

Niantic has announced the much anticipated update to Pokémon GO that adds some Johto Region Pokémon to the game. Also, a limited edition Pikachu will be available all over the world and these Pikachu are wearing a festive hat to celebrate the Christmas season.

① Iwanko Enhancement Tools Serial Code
A serial code is included with the issue that gives players items to help Iwanko. Different items are unlocked depending on which game players use the code in but the code can only be used in one game. The code can be used from December 15th, 2016 until February 14th, 2017 at 23:59 JST.
