Press Release - Ash and Friends Return to Kalos!

Watch Cartoon Network this Saturday for a marathon of episodes from the 18th season of Pokémon animation!

A new season of Pokémon the Series: XY is about to begin on Cartoon Network! Tune in at 8 a.m. this Saturday, February 7, for the first episode: “Pathways to Performance Partnering!” New challenges, new friends, and dozens of never-before-seen Pokémon await Ash and Pikachu in the next exciting season of Pokémon the Series: XY. The Kalos region is full of wonder and adventure, and Ash and his friends still have so much to explore!

Then, starting at noon, keep watching Cartoon Network for an incredible 4-hour Pokémon marathon! The marathon kicks off with Pokémon the Movie: Diancie and the Cocoon of Destruction, followed by Pokémon Mega Evolution Special I and II. The marathon continues with not just the debut episode, but the first three episodes of the new season! You won’t want to miss this amazing block of Pokémon animation fun!

Follow all season long as Ash competes for Gym badges on his journey toward the Kalos League and meets a new rival along the way! Ash isn’t the only one with big plans for this season: Serena starts her Pokémon Showcase training with ambitions of becoming the Kalos Queen, Clemont has to balance his devotion to invention with his duties as a Gym Leader, and Bonnie continues her never-ending quest to find someone to take care of her big brother. Working together, Ash and his friends will continue to unravel the mystery of Mega Evolution and learn more about the powerful bonds between people and Pokémon!

New episodes from Pokémon the Series: XY will run all season on Cartoon Network at 8 a.m. (7 a.m. Central). Check your local TV listings for channel information.

PokéCon 2015 took place at Crowne Plaza Airport Expo Center in Louisville, KY on January 9-11, 2015. At this year's Pokécon (a Pokémon convention assembled together by Sukoshi Con), Tom Wayland was one of the featured guests. He held a panel giving a behind the scenes look at how he creates the voices of the Pokémon anime. In addition, Mr. Wayland also gives a back story on his career and offers helpful information on how the Pokémon anime is produced.

The panel took place at 3PM on Friday, January 9th, 2015 and our very own TSS_Killer was in attendance and recorded the panel.

  • Tom Wayland has directed the Pokémon anime for almost 8 years / 8 seasons as of this panel.
  • He saw an ad in the paper for a Producer at Central Park Media and worked there for 4 years.
  • Created his own company TripWire Productions and then began doing parts for various anime companies including 4Kids.
  • Pokémon: Destiny Deoxys was his first envolvement in the Pokémon franchise. When the The Pokémon Company's license with 4Kids ended, they decided to produce it on their own, they had problems with the company they were initially working for and Tom managed to get the production contract for the show. Since Movie 10/Season 11, he has been involved with all the episodes of the anime.
  • He has voiced many of the Pokémon in the English dub.
  • He also confirmed as of that panel (Friday, January 9th, 2015), the title of the second XY English dub series was NOT finalized and was still tentative.
  • His favorite Pokémon voice is Pikachu voiced by Ikue_Ōtani (大谷 育江)
The official Italian Pokémon website announced that the 17th Pokémon Movie Diancie e il bozzolo della distruzione will debut in theaters in Italy in a 4-Day event from February 21st, 2015 until February 24th, 2015. Last year the 17th movie debuted in theaters in Japan, Australia, and Canada marking an increased theatrical distribution of the movies worldwide.

During the January 14th, 2015 European Nintendo Direct, the Nintendo Anime Channel was announced. It is a Video on Demand service that will be only available across Europe. Owners of a Nintendo 3DS can download the application from the Nintendo eShop on February 13th, 2015. The service will include episodes of the Pokémon Anime.

This news was initially revealed on Tomohisa Sako's Christmas concert, then later on his personal Twitter, where it was also mentioned a sneak peak at the song would be shown during the Pokémon New Year's Special.

The official Japanese Movie 18 website launched today. Pokémon the Movie XY 2015 will premiere in Japanese theaters July 18th, 2015. The website includes bios on the characters, posters and a brief trailer.

TV Tokyo has updated the Television Guide listing for the Oha Suta episode that airs on Thursday, December 11th, 2014 at 6:45am JST. The guide lists that the worlds first teaser video for the upcoming Pokémon Movie will debut during the show which should reveal the preliminary title for the movie. In addition to the teaser trailer, the weekly Pokémon Tretta School segment will also be broadcast. The trailer will also be shown during Pokémon Get TV episode 61 which airs on TV Tokyo on Sunday December 14th, 2014 at 7:30am JST.

Pokémon the Movie XY 2015 Teaser Trailer

The preliminary title for the movie was revealed at the end of the trailer as: Pokémon the Movie XY 2015. The full title should be revealed sometime in February of 2015. After debuting on Oha Suta, the trailer was available on the official Japanese Pokémon YouTube account.


Japanese Voice Actor Rokuro Naya (納谷六朗) died on November 17th, 2014 at the age of 82 due to pneumonia. He was born on October 20th, 1932 in Tokyo, Japan. He was most known for his roles as Aquarius Camus in Saint Seiya and Bunta Takakura in Crayon Shin-chan. Pocket Monsters anime fans will recognize him as the voice of Taylor (テイラー) and Keith Basquiat (キース・バスキア).
