The titles for the English dub versions of Movie 16 and the new anime series were announced by The Pokémon Company today. Below are the full details and the press release.

BELLEVUE, WA—Sept. 9, 2013—In celebration of the October 12th worldwide release of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y video games for the Nintendo 3DS family of systems, Cartoon Network will host a special Pokémon animation event on Saturday, October 19th. Pokémon fans in the U.S. can catch the debut of Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened, starring the extremely powerful Red Genesect and Mega Mewtwo, followed by a sneak peek of the newest season of the Pokémon animated series, Pokémon the Series: XY. The brand-new season is set in the world introduced in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y and features Pokémon making their animation debut like Chespin, Fennekin, and Froakie. The event begins with an encore presentation of Pokémon the Movie: Kyurem vs. the Sword of Justice on Cartoon Network.
Tune in to Cartoon Network on October 19th to watch the debut of Pokémon the Movie: Genesect and the Legend Awakened. Five Genesect have invaded the big city and threaten its power supply, attracting the attention of the Legendary Pokémon Mewtwo, whose motives are unknown. Ash, Pikachu, and friends must come to the rescue when the Genesect’s powerful leader, Red Genesect, confronts Mewtwo! The movie features the Mega-Evolved form of Mewtwo, Mega Mewtwo, which appears for the first time in Pokémon X and Pokémon Y. Fans can also battle with Red Genesect when the Pokémon Trading Card Game: Red Genesect Collection arrives at retail stores nationwide on September 25th. This new Pokémon TCG collection includes a Red Genesect theme deck, a limited edition collector’s pin, and more.
Beginning October 12th, the same day Pokémon X and Pokémon Y video games launch worldwide, some exciting new Pokémon and characters from Pokémon X and Pokémon Y will be introduced in the current season of the Pokémon animated series on Cartoon Network, Pokémon: BW Adventures in Unova and Beyond. Alexa, Gogoat, Helioptile, and Noivern join Ash and friends as they continue to explore the Decolore Islands on their way back to the Kanto region.

At today's Pokémon Game Show, a trailer for a new upcoming anime titled "Pocket Monsters THE ORIGIN" was shown. The trailer showed the main character, based on Red from the original Red/Green/Blue series of games, choose a Hitokage as his first Pokémon, and then battling both his rival, based on Green from the same games, and the gym leader Takeshi.
The anime is said to commemorate the upcoming Pocket Monstrs X and Y games, and is aimed at fans both fans currently playing the games, and adult fans who played back in the early days of the Franchise, and will premiere on TV Tokyo October 2nd, 2013 at 7PM.
Story synopsis
The original anime "Pocket Monsters THE ORIGIN" is based on "Red and Green", the Game Boy games initially released in 1996. Unlke the current anime series, it will not star Satoshi, but a young boy named Red, who sets off on a journey to complete the Pokémon Zukan. Just like in the "Red and Green" games, he gets to choose between Fushigidane, Hitokage and Zenigame as his first partner. Together with Hitokage, he set off chasing a grand dream. The original generation of Pokémon is reborn as an original anime.
The official Taiwanese Pokémon website at My-Cartoon has posted information about the upcoming distribution of Red Genesect in association with the theatrical release of 16th Pocket Monsters movie Extremespeed Genesect: The Awakening of Mewtwo (神速の蓋諾賽克特 超夢覺醒) and its short Pikachu and its Eievui Friends (皮卡丘與伊布好朋友) which will debut in theaters on August 16th, 2013. Those that bring their ticket stub for the movie to 1 of the 7 participating Funbox locations from August 16th, 2013 until September 15th, 2013 can receive a level 100 Red Genesect. Tickets cost $420TWD for the FamiPort family pack or $210TWD for a single admission.
The distribution locations are the same for the Taiwanese Pre-order Mewtwo. Players need to bring their copy of Pocket Monsters Black, White, Black 2 or White 2 with their Nintendo DS in order to receive the Mewtwo.

The latest Pocket Monsters movie debuted in Japanese theaters on July 13th, 2013. The 16th movie Extremespeed Genesect: The Awakening of Mewtwo (神速のゲノセクト ミュウツー覚醒) and its short Pikachu and its Eievui Friends (ピカチュウとイーブイフレンズ) were unable to beat Disney Pixar's Monsters University (モンスターズ・ユニバーシティ) which took first place and Pocket Monsters ended up in second place. Pocket Monsters Movie 16 was shown on 345 screens throughout Japan and made 486,293,500yen on the weekend.
According to Cinema Today's article about the 16th Pocket Monsters movie, 62% of the audience watching were male while only 38% were female. 37% of the audience was elementary aged children, while 28.2% were over 30 and 17.6% were people in their 20's. It was also noted that the reason for the large adult audience was because they were accompanying their children. While it wasn't indicated in the statistics, the other 18.2% was most likely the teenage demographic.
In attendance at the premiere was: Heisei Nobushi Kobushi (平成ノブシコブシ) group members Takashi Yoshimura (吉村崇) and Kenta Tokui (徳井健太) who voice Eric (エリック) and Ishitsubute (イシツブテ) respectively, Reiko Takashima (高島礼子) who voices Mewtwo, Shoko Nakagawa (中川翔子) who voices Nymphia, Rica Matsumoto (松本梨香) who voices Satoshi and Director Kunihiko Yuyama (湯山邦彦). Also in attendance was Ikimono-gakari (いきものがかり) who sing the ending theme song to the movie entitled: Egao (笑顔).
Ikimono-gakari were also one of the acts during the live Ongaku no Hi (音楽の日) broadcast on June 29th, 2013. The first song they performed was the movie 16 ending theme Egao (笑顔).
The official TV Tokyo page for the Pocket Monsters anime has updated to reveal that the next series will be called Pocket Monsters XY (ポケットモンスター XY) and it will debut on October 17th, 2013.
Story Translation
Pikachu and Satoshi arrive in Miare City at the center of Kalos region. There they encounter new Pokémon not seen before and new friends await!! The Kalos League is a new adventure to challenge Satoshi and Pikachu whose dream of becoming a Pokémon Master continues!!
The World Hobby Fair '13 Summer (次世代ワールドホビーフェア’13 Summer) took place at Makuhari Messe on June 29th and 30th, 2013. Pokémon had a large booth at the fair this year which included a stage show hosted by Pokémon Smash International Division members Neese and Maru. Two different battles from Pokémon X and Y were showcased which revealed a lot of new details about the moves that the new 6th Generation Pokémon can learn. The booth also had artwork displayed from the new movie 16, had a Tretta area, had a TCG area, had a large screen that showed the trailer from the 16th movie and had an area for the FunFest Mission.
