Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon

To celebrate the launch of PokemonCenter.com, players of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y can get a special Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon via the Nintendo Network. The Poké Ball Pattern Vivillon had been distributed a few times outside of North America already. It is currently being distributed at Pokémon Centers in Japan and will be available to German players at Gamescon on August 14th, 2014. It will be available to download in North America until August 12th, 2014.

Starting August 13th, 2014, players can receive a Heracross for their Pokémon X game or Pinsir for their Pokémon Y game. Initially these Pokémon will not have any held items but from August 18th, 2014 until August 31st, 2014, players can go to participating GameStop stores in the United States to get Mega Stones for the Pokémon to hold!

Look for a flyer at GameStop that contains a serial code. When players enter the code into their game, they'll receive the matching Mega Stone: Heracronite in Pokémon X or Pinsirite in Pokémon Y. GameStop will also be distributing a special preorder bonus poster for those that preorder a copy of Pokémon Omega Ruby or Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

Heracross and Pinsir Distribution Instructions

You can receive Heracross or Pinsir via the Internet directly into your game. Follow these steps to receive the Pokémon!

  1. Connect your system in the Nintendo 3DS family to the Internet.
  2. Select MYSTERY GIFT on the main menu.
  3. Select RECEIVE GIFT, then YES.
  4. Select GET VIA INTERNET, then YES.
  5. Watch as you receive Heracross (Pokémon X) or Pinsir (Pokémon Y)!
  6. Speak to the delivery girl in any Pokémon Center to add Heracross or Pinsir to your party.
  7. Be sure to save your game!

Canadian Distribution

The Pokémon Global Link website has posted the information for this distribution for Canadians. Unlike the United States, players in Canada can receive Heracross for their Pokémon X game or Pinsir for their Pokémon Y game via the Nintendo Network starting on August 13th, 2014. Sometime in September, a Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter containing a special code will be sent to Canadian accounts so that they can also get Mega Stones for the Pokémon to hold.

Gamescom is a video game convention held annually at the in Cologne, Germany which will be open to the public on August 14th, 2014. A Poké Ball pattern Vivillon will be distributed via serial code to visitors of the convention.

Shigeki Morimoto (森本茂樹), a lead game designer and programmer at Game Freak for the Pokémon series will be on-hand at the convention. He will be holding an autograph session and will battle 6 people that applied and were selected to participate.

It was also revealed that special video message from Junichi Masuda about Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be shown at the convention.

Die gamescom dürfen sich echte Videospiel-Fans ohnehin nicht entgehen lassen. Die Freunde der Pokémon aber haben am 14. August gleich doppelt Anlass, nach Köln zu reisen. Denn an diesem Tag erwartet sie am Nintendo-Stand in Halle 9.1 ein ganz besonderer Stargast: Shigeki Morimoto, der leitende Entwickler des Kampfsystems der Pokémon-Spiele. Er wird nicht nur Autogramme geben, sondern auch für spannende Wettkämpfe in Pokémon X und Pokémon Y bereit stehen. Nintendo sucht dafür sechs Herausforderer, die sich bis zum 8. August auf der Aktionsseite von nintendo.de bewerben können. Im Rahmen des Wettkampfs wird am Nintendo-Stand außerdem eine exklusive Video-Botschaft von Junichi Masuda von GAME FREAK zu den neuesten Editionen Pokémon Omega Rubin und Pokémon Alpha Saphir ausgestrahlt. Außerdem können die Fans an jedem Messetag ein Pokémon ergattern, das in Deutschland nur auf der gamescom erhältlich ist, sofern sie ihren Nintendo 3DS oder Nintendo 2DS samt Pokémon X oder Pokémon Y mitbringen: das besondere Pokémon Vivillon mit Pokéball-Muster. Ein besonders kreativer Wettbewerb findet während der Dauer der gamescom im Cosplay Village in Halle 10.1 statt. Wer die Messe in einem Pokémon-Kostüm besucht, hat dort die Möglichkeit, sich von einer professionellen Fotografin ablichten zu lassen. Eine Jury wählt später die Fotos mit den besten Kostümen aus und präsentiert diese auf der offiziellen Facebook-Seite von Nintendo. Dort hat dann jeder die Möglichkeit, mittels Like-Button oder Kommentar abzustimmen. Der Cosplayer, dessen Foto die meisten Likes bzw. Kommentare einheimst, gewinnt ein Nintendo Fan-Paket. Obendrein verlost Nintendo lustige Goodies unter allen Facebook-Freunden, die an der Abstimmung teilnehmen.

Fazit: Auf der diesjährigen gamescom - und danach - gibt es für die Pokémon-Fans viel zu erleben und viel zu gewinnen. Die neue Pokémon-Region, die es im August zu entdecken gilt, heißt eindeutig Köln.

Pokémon Launches Official World Championships Website, Streaming Schedule Announced

The Pokémon Company International has launched its official 2014 Pokémon World Championships website (Pokemon.com/Worlds) for fans to keep up with all the action from the event. Taking place August 16-17 in Washington, DC, the event will be streamed live on the official site via the Twitch.tv/Pokémon Live Player, featuring a full day of select Pokémon TCG and video game matches on Saturday, August 16 and all three divisions, six matches total, of the final Pokémon TCG and video game matches on Sunday, August 17. A full event schedule is below. Pokémon TCG and video game players from more than 30 countries will be battling for scholarships, prizes, and the title of Pokémon World Champion.

Get an awesome Aegislash at the 2014 Pokémon World Championships via local wireless distribution! The Lv. 50 Aegislash is well-built for Double Battles, especially because it can use Wide Guard. This move protects Aegwitislash and any allies in play from attacks that target multiple Pokémon per turn. It’s really difficult for Aegislash to learn this move through normal gameplay—it's only available as an Egg Move, and multiple steps are required! The Aegislash distribution will take place on Saturday August 16th, 2014 and Sunday August 17th, 2014. Aegislash is level 50, had the Ability: Stance Change, is holding the Item: Sitrus Berry and knows the Moves: Wide Guard, King's Shield, Shadow Ball and Flash Cannon.

The Great Pikachu Outbreak! at Yokohama Minato Mirai (ピカチュウ大量発生チュウ! at 横浜みなとみらい) was announced on the official Japanese Pokémon website. The will take place from August 9th, 2014 until August 17th, 2014 at Yokohama Minato Mirai. Various festivities will take place at the event which focuses on Pikachu. A Pikachu will be distributed at different locations and its OT is different depending on where it is received.

The Pokémon Center Tohoku will be holding the Pokémon Tanabata Festival (ポケモンたなばたまつり) 2014 from August 1st, 2014 until August 8th, 2014. The Tanabata Festival is a Japanese star festival that takes place yearly. In commemoration of the festival, a Jirachi will be distributed at the Pokémon Center Tohoku from August 1st, 2014 until August 31st, 2014. The Level 10 Shiny Jirachi knows the moves: Wish, Swift, Healing Wish and Moonblast and is holding the Star Piece item.

The official Japanese Pokémon website announced that Vivillon will be distributed to players of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y at Pokémon Centers in Japan from August 1st, 2014 until August 31th, 2014. It will also be distributed from August 1st, 2014 to August 18th, 2014 at the Pokémon Center Summer Vacation Festival in Daimaru Kobe (ポケモンセンターなつまつり in 大丸神戸店). This is the 19th variant for Vivillon and this is the same one that was distributed at the Paris Pokémon Center except that it will be distributed in a PokéBall rather than a Cherish Ball. This variants pattern is based on the PokéBall (ボールのもようのビビヨン). The Vivillon being distributed is level 12 and knows the moves Stun Spore, Gust, Light Screen and Struggle Bug.

Pokémon Center Summer Vacation Festival in Daimaru Kobe

From July 26th, 2014 until August 18th, 2014, the Pokémon Center Summer Vacation Festival in Daimaru Kobe (ポケモンセンターなつまつり in 大丸神戸店) will take place. Mini attractions including the Pokémon☆Kids Carnival (ポケモン☆キッズカーニバルのミニアトラクション) and Let's Play Pokémon Bingo! (ポケモンビンゴ大会で遊ぼう) will be available for people to participate in. The Pokémon Art Gallery exhibit from the Paris Pokémon Center will also be displayed. A Pokémon Stamp Rally will also take place. There will also be a booth setup for people to buy official Pokémon Center Merchandise.

July 10th 2014, LONDON: From July 11th to August 10th, Pokémon fans can head to participating GAME stores to get a fiery Charizard for their Pokémon X or Pokémon Y game via Nintendo Zone.

This Charizard is holding the Mega Stone that enables it to Mega Evolve during battle, becoming even more powerful than before! Pokémon X players will get a Charizard holding a Charizardite Y Mega Stone. The Charizard that Pokémon Y players get will be holding a Charizardite X.

Players heading to GAME should bring their copy of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y and Nintendo 3DS or 2DS system.

GAME will also feature the recently released Pokémon TCG: XY—Flashfire expansion, where fan-favourite Charizard appears on several cards.

Charizard will be available at GAME UK only until August 10, so it’s the perfect trip to make during the long summer holiday!

For shops without access to Nintendo Zone, Charizard fans can ask for a special code at the till.
Only July 7th, 2014, the 100 millionth Pokémon to be traded on the Global Trade Station (GTS) took place. From July 8th, 2014 until July 31st, 2014, a Fancy Pattern Vivillon will be distributed via the Nintendo Network to celebrate this milestone. It was announced in May that Vivillon would be distributed once the milestone was achieved.

The Fancy Pattern Vivillon is Level 12 and knows the following moves: Gust, Light Screen, Struggle Bug and Hold Hands.

100 million Pokémon traded via the Global Trade Station in the Pokémon X and Pokémon Y games!

Fancy Pattern Vivillon released simultaneously to Pokémon fans across the globe. The players of Pokémon X and Pokémon Y have achieved a massive landmark by trading 100 million Pokémon via the Global Trade Station (GTS). To celebrate the colossal number of trades, a new Fancy Pattern Vivillon is now available to players across the globe!

Traditionally, Vivillon have distinctive colours and patterns on their wings based on the real-world region of the player. The official Korean Pokémon website has announced the details for another Pokémon World Championship 2014 Qualification Tournament (포켓몬 월드챔피언십2014 대한민국 대표 선발전) which takes place as part of the Pokémon Day (포켓몬데이) festivities on July 5th, and 6th, 2014. The previous Pokémon Town events were postponed in Korea due to the ferry incident, so this will be one of the last times players in Korea will be able to qualify for the 2014 Pokémon World Championships. The festivities and tournament will take place on the 10th floor of the Yeongdeungpo Lotte Department Store (롯데백화점 영등포점) in Seoul, South Korea. Five major events will take place during the Pokémon Day festivities and the details of each are listed below.
