The Thieves and the 1000 Pokémon

The section on "The Thieves and the 1000 Pokémon" has received an update detailing the movie event connected to it.

If you download "The Thieves and the 1000 Pokémon", then go see the movie, "something special" will happen! Further, it can be connected to "Pocket Monsters X/Y"!!

Make sure you've added the special stage to "The Thieves and the 1000 Pokémon"
Challenge the special stage where Algus and Miriss appear!
In addition to Marilyn and Riot, the movie characters Algus and Miriss will appear as well! If you download the game, then take it with you to the theater and go see this year's Pokémon movie, you can add a special stage called the "Algus and Miriss Stage" to the game!

Rather than Marilyn and Riot, this stage is centered around Algus and Miriss! Why do Algus and Miriss take an interest in the "Diamond Ore Country"? What are they planning?
*The special stage can be downloaded no matter how far into the game you are, but it can not be played until you've beaten the regular Stage 6.

When you beat the special stage, you will receive a Master Ball in "Pocket Monsters X/Y"
When you beat the special stage, you will receive a serial code for a Master Ball present!
Jot down the serial code, switch over to Pocket Monsters X/Y, and enter the serial code there to receive a Master Ball!
*The 3DS system must be connected to the Internet for the code to work.

Before you go see the movie, make sure you've downloaded the game

In mid-June, an icon notice about the game will be added to all Nintendo 3DS systems connected to the Internet. However, this does not mean the game has been downloaded, and it can not be played in this state. Have the icon take you to the Nintendo e-shop and download the game from there.

Near the end of the episode, Shoko-tan revealed a prerecorded video of Atsuto Uchida (内田篤人) and AD Pikachu announcing new details about the Pikachu distribution event. Atsuto, who previously had an entire episode of Get TV dedicated to him, revealed that the Pikachu being distributed on June 15th, 2014 at 40 Aeon Mall locations, knows the move Mega Kick. Atsuto is a member of the Japanese National team for the FIFA World Cup 2014 and Pokémon is an official partner of FIFA for this World Cup. Further details about the Pikachu distribution were revealed on the official Japanese Pokémon website at the conclusion of the episode airing.

Pikachu is level 22 to match Atsuto's jersey number, has the OT Uchida Atsuto (ウチダアツト), has the Ability Static and knows the moves Mega Kick, Quick Attack, Electro Ball and Double Team. It has the item Light Ball.
The official Japanese Pokémon website has revealed that almost 85 million Pokémon trades have occurred on the Global Trade System (GTS). When the 100th million trade occurs, the Fancy Pattern Vivillon (ファンシーなもようのビビヨン) will be distributed worldwide to celebrate the milestone. Another 15 million trades need to occur before this distribution will become available.

The official Pokémon Company International press release revealed that the Fancy Pattern Vivillon is Level 12 and knows the following moves: Gust, Light Screen, Struggle Bug and Hold Hands.

Release of new Fancy Pattern Vivillon will mark a huge milestone for Pokémon X and Pokémon Y’s Global Trade Station

Currently, about 90 million Pokémon have been traded worldwide, and to celebrate the landmark of 100 million Pokémon trades via the Global Trade Station (GTS), a new Fancy Pattern Vivillon will become available to players.

Vivillon is a unique Pokémon in that the patterns and colours on its wings typically vary based on the real-world region in which a player lives. Because of this characteristic, players around the world have been exchanging Vivillon via the GTS to collect all of the regional patterns.

This newly discovered Vivillon breaks with that tradition: it will become available to Pokémon fans across the globe once the 100 millionth Pokémon is traded via the GTS. When this enormous milestone is reached, a special distribution event will take place, enabling all players of Pokémon X or Pokémon Y to receive the Fancy Pattern Vivillon wherever they are in the world!

Once the goal is reached, players can check Pokemon.co.uk to find out how to get the Fancy Pattern Vivillon in their Pokémon X or Pokémon Y game. The Pokémon Company would like to thank everyone who has participated in reaching this epic milestone by trading Pokémon via the GTS, and are calling on everyone to keep trading so we hit that huge milestone!
May 19 2014 Pokémon Get TV 32
Episode 32 of Pokémon Get TV, Do Coil Dream of Electric Mice!? / A Grand Presentation of the High Points of the Pokémon Movie, with an Appearance by SCANDAL, who Sing the Movie's Theme Song! / The PokéTV Challenge will have 'PokéRiddle', etc! aired yesterday.

The episode started with the usual preview clips, which announced that today's episode will be a Pokémon movie special featuring SCANDAL as guests, a showcase of famous move scenes and information on the new movie tie-in video game.

Taka then introduced the show, and asked if the other hosts were fired up, which they were. He then said his usual line of telling Shoko-tan she looks cute today, and she replied that that line was getting pretty routine now. Toshi then said they'd have some cute guests on today too, and introduced the members of SCANDAL, the 4-member girls' band singing "Meteor Shower at Dawn", the theme song for The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie. The three members we have as guests for this episode are HARUNA (vocals & guitar), RINA (drums and vocals) and MAMI (guitar and vocals). Toshi asked them if they liked Pokémon, HARUNA replying that they love it, and RINA adding that they're part of the "Pokémon generation"; Pokémon has been there all throught their lives ever since kindergarten. She also adds that the first movie she ever saw in her life was a Pokémon one. Taka says that's really cute, Toshi tells him not to fawn over their guests like that, and Taka says he was actually talking about Toshi.

thumbnail

Next up is the PokéTV Animation segment, where today's episode is Pocket Monsters Episode 30, Do Coil Dream of Electric Mice!?. Shoko-tan explains the basic plot of the episode: After the group's arrival in Gunjo City, Pikachu get sick, and then the power goes out during its treatment at the Pokémon Center, prompting Satoshi and friends to visit the power plant to see what happened... where they run into something scary. The summary makes Taka really excited to see the episode, and he starts it right away.

After the episode ends, Taka expresses his dislike of the unfriendly Joy with his classic "No no no!" skit, which the three SCANDAL members go on to imitate, much to everyone's amusement.

PokéTV Challenge

Next up is the PokéTV challenge segment. Today's first challenge is an installment of the "Think Clearly Quiz! PokéRiddle". The narrator explains the basic rules, that all 7 contestants must manage to solve the given riddle to complete the challenge, and Toshi introduces the prize: If the challenge is completed, one lucky viewer will get 20 packs of cards from the Pokémon Card Game XY expansion Wild Blaze.

thumbnail

The riddle was as follows (note: this riddle requires an understanding of the Japanese language and can not be solved by reading the English translation alone):
Question Hint Answer
thumbnail
As Satoshi was walking down the street, he came across the poster in the picture. What did it say? (サトシが道を歩いているとこんな貼り紙を見つけました この貼り紙にはなんと書いてあるでしょう?)
What is the English name for the number 2? (数字の2を英語で言うと?)
Spoiler: Click to show!
thumbnail
"Way to School (通学路 tsuugakuro)"

If 2 is read as the English "two", or rather its Japanese approximation pronunciation "tsuu", this sounds like "The 2 is black" (2が黒 tsuu ga kuro)
Spoiler: Click to show!

Shoko-tan immediately guesses the answer is "Pocket Monsters Black 2", but after she's told that is wrong, none of the others manage to think of anything, and Toshi gives them the hint early. After the get the hint, all the participants hit upon the correct answer fairly quickly, completing the challenge.

The next challenge is "Let's Pinpoint the Exact Pokémon". The narrator explains the rules: Each of the 7 participants will select one Pokémon from a given group of 20, and if the combined weight of these 7 Pokémon ends up being between 290 and 300 kg, the challenge is completed. The 20 Pokémon can be seen in the pictures below. Toshi then introduced the prize: If the challenge is completed, one lucky winner will get a set of four MonColle figures; Mega Fushigibana, Mega Lizardon X, Mega Lizardon Y and Mega Kamex.

thumbnailthumbnailthumbnail

Robin is first, wanting to get a Pokémon that's neither too light nor too heavy, and picks Chigoras, which he estimates is about 40kg. It turns out to weigh just 26, but he's pleased enough with that choice. Next up is MAMI, who starts wondering about Coil and Rarecoil's weights, eventually settling on trying Coil, which she guesses is about 15kg based on its size and Steel type. Its actual weight is 6kg, much lighter than anyone expected, and only bringing the total to 32 kg. Next is Yukito, who wants to find something heavy to get the total weight up a bit. He wonders about Nassy and Lizardon, eventually settling on Nassy, estimating it to weigh around 45kg. He misses the mark completely, as it actually weights an entire 120kg. The group agrees this is actually fine, since they'll still need an additional 148kg after this. Shoko-tan is next, and suggests that if they all pick light Pokémon now, the final player can choose a heavy one. She chooses Yancham, estimating it at roughly 10kg. She's pretty spot on, its actual weight being 8kg. Next is RINA, who wants to pick something a bit heavier, gong for Mega Kucheat, which she estimates weights about 50kg. She misses the mark, it actually weighing 23.5kg, but the others are fine with that. Taka is next, with 116.5kg left before they hit 300. Taka says he'll try to find a Pokémon that weighs around 100kg. He goes for Kirikizan, which weights 70kg, which the group is happy about. The final player is HARUNA, and Toshi points out that she needs to find a Pokémon that weighs between 36.5 and 46.5kg to complete the challenge. She considers Dotekkotsu, but decides against it since she's not sure if the iron bar it carries would add to the weight or not, and goes for Nidangiru instead. Unfortunately, it only weighs 4.5kg, meaning the total weight ended up being too low and the challenge is lost. Toshi then reveals that Dotekkotsu weighed 40kg, and if she had chosen that as originally planned, she'd have won.

Pokémon Movie Quiz

Toshi and Shoko-tan introduce the next segment, the "7 High Points of Pokémon Movies as Given by Pokémon Movie Fans Quiz". The rules are explained: Kids around the city have been interviewed about what they look forward to in a Pokémon movie, and their replies have been sorted into 7 broad answers. The PokeTV team, consisting of Robin, Yukito and Taka, and the SCANDAL team, consisting of HARUNA, RINA and MAMI, will now alternate between trying to guess what these 7 broad answers are. The first team to guess 4 correct answers will win a special "Cocoon of Destruction" trophy.

The SCANDAL team goes first, and HARUNA guesses one of the answers is "Parents and their children can enjoy them together", which unfortunately wasn't one of the given answers, though Toshi points out that they're of course right about that being a high point as well.

Next is the PokéTV team, and they guess "Pokémon we haven't seen before appear in the movies" being one of the answers, which is correct. For the last 16 years, entirely new Pokémon, including many legendary Pokémon and mythical Pokémon, have appeared for the first time in a theatrical movie, including Lucario, Latios, Latias, Shaymin, Deoxys, Entei and more. In "The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie", we will meet the new Pokémon Diancie, who will travel together with Satoshi and his friends. What kind of role will she play in the movie?

thumbnail

With the PokéTV team in the lead, it's once again the SCANDAL team's turn, with RINA guessing "Intense battles" is one of the given answers, which is correct. The Pokémon movies have always had amazing battle scenes in them, with the fight between the Pokémon referred to as gods in 2009's Arceus - Towards the Continuum of Conquest and the battle etwen Mewtwo and the red Genesect in 2013's Extremespeed Genesect: The Awakening of Mewtwo being singled out as the best. In "The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie", the Destruction Pokémon Yveltal and the Life Pokémon Xerneas will appear before us. What kind of battle will unfold between these two legendary Pokémon?

thumbnail

The PokéTV team's next guess is "You receive special Pokémon as gifts", which is once again correct. Every year, there is one special Pokémon given out with the pre-order tickets and another special Pokémon given out in the movie theaters. This year, those who buy a pre-order ticket will receive the mythical Pokémon Darkrai, while all those who go see the movies in theaters will receive the mythical Pokémon Diancie, the star of "The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie". This Diancie comes with the exclusive move Diamond Storm, a handy move that hits multiple opponents at once.

thumbnailthumbnail

SCANDAL is next, MAMI guessing one of the high points is that there's actually two movies, hitting the fourth given answer, "The Co-Feature". Every year, a short filled with cute Pokémon is shown as a co-feature to the feature film. This year, the short is titled "Pikachu, What Kind of Keys are These?". In this short, Pikachu and the other Pokémon use the keys carried by the Pokémon Cleffy to go on adventures through mysterious worlds where mythical Pokémon live. What kind of encounters await them there?

thumbnail

The PokéTV team next guess is "the original stories in the movies", which is close enough to one of the actual answers, "Touching stories", to be accepted as correct. The Pokémon movies have always had powerful, emotional stories centered around the friendship between humans and Pokémon, with one of the greatest being Darkrai sacrificing itself in the battle against Dialga and Palkia for the sake of the humans who saw it as a threatening monster in 2007's Dialga VS Palkia VS Darkrai. Another scene that brought many to tears was Satoshi's desperate struggle to save Victini in 2011's Victini and the Light Hero Reshiram / Victini and the Dark Hero Zekrom. "The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie" will be a story about Satoshi, Diancie and their friends' journey to find the Pokémon Xerneas, which is said to possess sacred power. Two thieves who want Diancie's powers for themselves stand in the way, and eventually even the Destruction Pok´mon Yveltal halt their progress. How will this end?

thumbnailthumbnailthumbnailthumbnailthumbnail

The movie's production staff visited the world's second largest country, Canada, to gather reference material for the movie, and Director Yuyama explains in an interview that Canada was chosen because it has many cities with a European atmosphere to them, along with abundant, varied nature with lots of forests and lakes, which are all things he wanted to include in this year's movie.

thumbnailthumbnailthumbnailthumbnailthumbnailthumbnail

SCANDAL is next, and as the performers of this year's theme song, they guess one of the high points is to sing along to the movie's theme song in the theaters. Indeed, "The music" was one of the given answers. As already mentioned, the theme song for "The Cocoon of Destruction and Diancie" will be SCANDAL's "Meteor Shower at Dawn". HARUNA explains that the song is a fun pop song that embodies how enjoyable a journey is, and RINA adds that when they heard that Diancie's power is to create diamonds, they made sure to include the word "diamond" in the lyrics to create a further connection between the song and the movie.

thumbnail

Toshi says there's only one high point left to guess, and that the score is now 3-3 with the PokéTV team being the next to guess. If they guess right, they win! The team's guess is "Extravagant Voice Actors", which is indeed the final answer. The Pokémon movies have always contracted famous celebrities to play the various new main characters and Pokémon, and this year's movie is no exception. The ninja thief Riot will be played by Koichi "Yama-chan" Yamadera in his 17th Pokémon movie in a row. The female thief Marilyn will be played by the popular actress Rika Adachi, while the father and daughter duo helping Satoshi and his friends on their way, Algus and Miriss, will be portrayed by Reiji Nakagawa from the comedy duo Nakagawa-ke and our very own Anchor Shoko-tan in her 8th Pokémon movie in a row! Finally, the legendary Pokémon Xerneas will be played by legendary screen actress Yoshiko Mita, who has more than 60 movies on her resume. In addition, the popular idol Mayu Watanabe from AKB48 will be narrating the co-feature "Pikachu, What Kind of Keys are These?".

thumbnailthumbnailthumbnailthumbnailthumbnailthumbnail

Since the last answer was correct, Toshi announces the PokéTV team as the winners of the quiz, and hands over the Cocoon of Destruction tropy, but Taka asks to get a closer look and pulls off the wrapping paper obscuring the top of the trophy, revealing it to be an old trophy Taka won in a golf tournament.

The Thieves and the 1000 Pokémon

The narrator then announces a new, completely free video game based on the movie. It's called "The Thieves and the 100 Pokémon", and features both the movie characters Marilyn and Riot and a story that ties into the movie. In the game, you use the Nintendo 3DS Streetpass function to assemble an army of Pokémon you use to defeat your in-game enemies. The game will be available via the Nintendo 3DS eshop between June 5th and September 30th. Further information will be made available at a later date.

thumbnail

The Lizardon Mega Battle

As Toshi is about to end the episode, Robin interrupts, saying he has something to show them. He then pulls out a Pokémon Card Game card, XY promo card 048: Mafoxy EX, a special holofoil card given out to all participants at the official "Lizardon Mega Battle" tournament. Robin explains that he went to that tournament and made a report from it, then starts his video.

Before his segment starts, however, we get a new segment where Yukito and AD Pikachu go to a 7-Eleven to receive the special Darkrai you get with the special pre-order movie ticket. First, they get a special pre-order movie ticket and the Darkrai Present Guide that coms with it from the store. Next, they start up their Pocket Monsters X/Y game at a place where one can connect to the Internet, which can be be done right there in the store thanks to the handy 7-Spot hotspot service they have. Next, they choose the "Mystery Gift" option from the game's title menu and enter the password found on the special pre-order ticket. Finally, they start the game and talk to the woman in blue now present at the Pokémon Center to receive the Darkrai. This Darkrai even comes with the powerful move Phantom Force that hits even if the opponent uses moves like Protect, which Darkrai can't normally learn.

thumbnail

Finally, Robin's report from the Lizardon Mega Battle starts. The "Lizardon Mega Battle Eastern Japan Tournament" was an official Pokémon Card Game tournament held at Pacifico Yokohama over two days, Saturday May 3rd and Sunday May 4th. The four top players from this tournament, along with the four top players from the upcoming "Lizardon Mega Battle Western Japan Tournament" will continue on to the Japanese Championships, and the top four players from that will win entries to the Pokémon World Championships 2014 in Washington D.C. as Japanese representatives. Robin shows up to see long lines, and asks some kids in the line if they're going to participate, and they reply that they didn't pre-register, but they're hoping to register on the site, and it is explained that in addition to those who registered online, people who show up at the tournament can register on the spot as long as there are still positions open, which is what most of the people are standing in line for. Robin reveals he brought his own deck and intends to participate too, and the kids in line instruct him to go to the end of the line and not try to skip.

thumbnail

The tournament itself started at 9:40am with the B Division, for middle schoolers and older, which of course incudes Robin. The tournament system is then explained. Each division starts with "Preliminary League Matches", where the players are divided into groups of four that will play each other in a round-robin series of matches. The winner from each of these groups of four will then go on to the Tournament Preliminaries, and the 16 best from these will continue on to the tournament proper. Robin's strategy is to go on the offense with powerful Pokémon EX cards. In his first match, he uses Yveltal EX's damaging "Evil Ball" attack, which deals an addition 20 damage for each energy on both players' Pokémon, leading him to victory. He wins his second match the same way, doing great in his very first tournament. His third opponent has won both his earlier matches too, and counters Robin's strategy by using the Kaenshi card from the new Wild Blaze expansion, which Ability "Intimidating Mane" prevents all damage from an opponent's Basic Pokémon, which all Pokémon EX are. Robin ends up losing agaisnt this overwhelming opponent, and thus fails to continue on from the initial league matches.

thumbnailthumbnailthumbnail

Next, it's time for the A division, for grade schoolers and younger, and Robin spots several participants from both last year's WCS and the Pokémon Dragon King Match finals among the players. The tournament finals take place the next day, with the ultimate winner being 10 year old Hitoshi Ohmura, who is participating in his very first official tournament. Together with the three runner-ups, 10 year old Yui Kaizaki, 11 year old Rina Maruyama and 8 year old Tatsuya Kawamoto, he will go on to the Lizardon Mega Battle Japanese Championships in Osaka, where he will compete for the championship. The Lizardon Mega Battle Japan Championships will be held at the Pokémon Center Osaka June 7th and June 8th 2014.

He then started on his usual line of telling Shoko-tan she looks cute today, but Shoko-tan interrupted him by saying she has some super super super big news for them all. Taka thinks the news is that Toshi got a not-very-noticable makeover at a beauty parlor and tries pointing out here he looks different, but Toshi tells him that's not it, and asks Shoko-tan to go on, wanting to know himself too. Shoko-tan says she won't tell yet, and that'll have to wait until the second half of the show.

Taka says they have to introduce today's guests, and Toshi calls them in. They are model and actress Rei Okamoto and Q-taro Suzuki and Hiroaki Matsuda from the comedy duo Hiking Walking. Toshi asks them what their favorite Pokémon are, and Okamoto says she thinks Eievui is really cute, and that she's working hard to catch one, Taka saying that's a popular choice for women. Q-taro says his favorite is Rougela, since it looks just like him, and he does a wiggling dance to demonstrate further, much to Taka and Toshi's displeasure.

Next up is the PokéTV Animation segment, where today's episode is Pocket Monsters Episode 29, Fighting Pokémon! The Big Battle!.

PokéTV Challenge

After the rerun ended, the show went straight to the PokéTV Challenge segment. Today's challenge is Keep that Combo Going! Pokémon Battle Trozei. The rules for the challenge are explained to newcomers: 5 members selected from the hosts and the guest will play one round in the downloadable Nintendo 3DS game Pokémon Battle Trozei each, trying to get as high a max combo against an opponent Pokémon as possible. Each player's max combo will then be added together, and the combined total will determine which presents will be given out.

thumbnail

Toshi introduced today's presents, saying that to commemmorate the launch of the Pokémon Center's "Nyasper WANTED!!!" product line, they will all be products from that line, which feature the Pokémon Nyasper or Nyaonix.
A total combo of 0-29 will result in no presents.
A total combo of 30-49 will get a lucky winner a "Lunch Time Set", consisting of a ceramic tray, a microfiber towel and a soup cup.
A total combo of 50-69 will also get another lucky winner a "Travel Set", consisting of a commuter pass cass, a Hard Cover for 3DS LL Nyasper, a Dr. Grip mechanical pencil, a square bag and a 2-way tote bag.
A total combo of 70-199 will also get another lucky winner a set of both the male and female variant of the Big Size Nyaonix plushies.

thumbnail thumbnailthumbnail

Taka asks where that prize is, and Toshi tells him they of course also have the usual super prize of a trip around the world if the total combo gets above 200. Taka says he'll make sure they get that far this time.

Shoko-tan is first up, and manages to get a combo of 21 against the first Pokémon of the round, Brigaron, but unfortunately gets a Game Over against the final Pokémon Gekkouga, resulting in a total combo of 0. Okamoto is next, and gets a total combo of 17. Robin is next, and gets Match All after Match All as the others cheer him on, ending up with a combo of 56, getting the total combo all the way up to 73, and securing all three standard prizes in one go. Only the Round-the-World trip remains!

Q-taro is next as the announcer says they need an additional total of 127. Unfortunately, he screws up a Metamon placement after almost clearing the screen once against Gekkouga, leaving a single Harimaron left, canceling the combo at a mere 12, greatly frustrating him. Taka, who has been extremely eager to play during the entire challenge, is finally picked to be the final player, and promises to get the combo of 115+ required for the final prize. He plays well, and pulls off some very impressive manouevers, but eventually makes a sightly too slow move and ends up at 71, pushing the total combo to 156. While very impressive, and a new record so far, it unfortunately wasn't enough for the ultimate prize.

Get them! The Pokémon Hide-and-seek Game

Yukito introduces the next segment, a new installment of Get them! The Pokémon Hide-and-seek Game. Taka says he thought that segment had ended since Kasuga lost last time, but Yukito explains that while it's true Kasuga experienced his first loss last time, he has now undergone a Mega Evolution and is back stronger than ever! Taka wonders if Kasuga mega evolving means he's turned into Wakabayashi, which Yukito denies. It's still Kasuga.

The segment starts with Kasuga saying that while he unfortunately lost last time, he'll be doing things a little bit differently from here on. The camera pans out as Kasuga reveals his clothes are smaller than before, before showing off his new Mega Ring, explaining that it will turn him into the Reborn Kasuga, the narrator wondering if he's going to mega evolve.

thumbnail thumbnail thumbnail thumbnail

Kasuga walks up to today's house, where today's challenger is waiting for him: 8 year old Kodai Fukuda from Saitama, who is a big fan of Pocket Monsters Y, and loves battling and trading with his friends. The rules for the challenge are explained; Kodai will hide three plushies, Yayakoma, Yancham and Dedenne, around the house, and for every 20 minutes that pass without Kasuga finding them, he wins one of three prizes. The Yayakoma plushie is hidden in the storage room, where it is placed in a plastic bag stuffed into the oil tank for the heater, which is then moved into a closet. the Yancham plushie is hidden in the same room, being stuffed into a blue plastic bag and placed far back on a shelf full of bags and the like. Finally, the Dedenne plushie is hidden in the Western Style room, being placed in a Boston bag he then stuffs far into a closet.

The challenge then starts. Kasuga first goes to the childrens' room, where he throughly goes through every possible hiding place he can think of. He finds his first hidden monster ball on a storage shelf, and opens it to check the content as the narrator explains that various monster balls containing "lucky" or "unlucky" items have been spread throughout the house for the game. Kasuga opens it, and Kodai asks if it's the fan-favorite Comet Punch card that requires Kasuga to do three quick comedy skits for the challenger. But no, this time it's a Mega Stone. Kodai asks what that means, and the narrator explains that starting today, some of the monster balls will contain Mega Stones. In the video games, these mega evolve Pokémon, and in this game, they "mega evolve" Kasuga for the duration of a single room when put in the Mega Ring. Kasuga decides to save it for a later room.

thumbnail

Next, with 54 minutes left on the clock, he heads to the storage room, where Kodai hid both the Yayakoma and Yancham plushies. He feels suspicious about the room, and starts searching through places that look like they might be hiding something, eventually coming across the Yancham plushie hidden on the shelf, having only spent 11 minutes searching so far.

Kasuga next heads to the living room on the second floor, where he searches every nook and cranny, eventually discovering a second monster ball. This ball contains the Dive Card. In Pocket Monsters X/Y, Dive is a move where the user dives under water for one turn, then attacks on the second, while in this game, it forces Kasuga to take a bath in the challenger's house for 5 minutes. Kasuga heads to the tub and gets in, enjoying the hot water and even getting his back washed by Kodai. After the 5 minutes are up, he gets back up, but before he get to do anything, the staff informs him he's currently spent 20 minutes searching, and Kodai has won his first prize: 20 packs of 4 Pocket Monsters XY sausages, which also come with a free sticker per pack.

thumbnail thumbnail

Kasuga's next destination is the kitchen, where he discovers another monster ball inside the microwave oven. This one contains the Worry Seed Card. In Pocket Monsters X/Y, Worry Seed is a move that gives the opponent the Ability "Insomnia", while in this game, it forces Kasuga to listen to the challenger's mother talk about her current worries. Kasuga isn't very pleased with getting another card that just wastes time. Kodai's mother Aiko Fukuda is brought in, and talks to Kasuga about how she's had to read up on money-saving recipes due to the recent tax increase, and Kasuga gives her some tips, including how you can use part of the broth from store-bought beef bowl packs with plain rice to create makeshift seasoned rice that tastes good enough to eat all by itself. In the end, he spends about two minutes of his precious time talking about saving money on food.

thumbnail

Next, Kasuga heads to the 3rd floor, and the Western style room where the Dedenne plushie is hidden, where Kodai grabs the opportunity to sneak in a kancho attack. Kasuga starts looking through the closet where the Dedenne plushie is hidden, and finds it without too much trouble, leaving only the Yayakoma plushie to find, with an entire 30 minutes left on the clock.

With 21 minutes left on the clock, Kasuga heads back to the suspicious storeroom, thinking there may be more hidden there. Before he gets to search much, however, the staff informs him a total of 40 minutes have passed, meaning Kodai has won his second prize: A Pokémon Mega Ring Special Set, which comes with a Mega Burshamo figure and a special Pokémon tretta. The narrator then reveals the prize Kodai will get if Kasuga spends all 60 minutes without finding the plushies: A Monster Collection Mega Evolution Pack, with contains the Mega Lucario, Mega Mewtwo and Mega Burshamo moncolle figure sets.

thumbnail thumbnail

However, Kasuga is certain there's something about this room, and decides it's time to use the Mega Stone he found earlier. He places the Mega Stone in his Mega Ring and does a transformation pose as some effects play over the footage. Kasuga then reappears with a child on his arm, and explains that when he mega evolves, he gains the Ability Parental Bond, which Kodai points out is Mega Garura's Ability. This means that the child, "Mini-Kasuga", will search together with him through the room they're in. With 17 minute left on the clock, Kasuga starts looking through the closet Kodai hid the Yayakoma plushie in, handing various bags to Mini-Kasuga for him to search through. This speeds up their search considerably, and Mini-Kasuga eventualy finds the Yayakoma plushie in the oil tank with an entire 13 minutes left on the clock; a stunning victory. But will he be able to keep winning?

Special Announcement

Finally, it's time for the news Shoko-tan mentioned at the beginning of the episode! Shoko-tan asks once again if they're all excited to hear what it is, then finally reveals what she was holding out on: All new Pocket Monsters games will be released worldwide November 2014! Toshi is shocked, since we got X and Y last year, but Shoko-tan ensures him it's true, and is just about to reveal what they are as we cut to commercials.

As we return from the break, Shoko-tan reveals the games' titles as Pocket Monsters Omega Ruby and Pocket Monsters Alpha Sapphire, then tells them they'll also be showing off the games' packaging, and reveal them on the screen behind them. She says that the Pokémon on the covers resemble Groudon and Kyogre, but they appear to look a bit different. This isn't all, though: She has borrowed a beta version of the game, explaining that it was made specifically for the PokéTV show, and that she'll be showing off a bit of game footage for them. She turns on the game, and we see a video of Groudon rising up from the sea as the camera rotates around it as an island appears to explode in the distance.

thumbnail thumbnail thumbnail

Shoko-tan says there's more, but first we cut to Yukito standing outside a 7-Eleven, having been sent there by Taka to get the Darkrai they're giving out via the special preorder movie tickets. He shows off the pre-order tickets you can buy there, and the special Darkrai Present Guide you get with the purchase, which explains how to receive Darkrai in your game: Connect your gam to the Internet, which can ven be done at a 7-Spot in a 7-Eleven right after purchasing your ticket, then use the Mystery Gift option on the game's title menu and enter the unique code listed on the ticket. Finally, talk to the woman in blue at a Pokémon Center, and she will give you the Darkrai. With this Darkrai, Yukito can easily beat Robin!

thumbnail thumbnail thumbnail thumbnail

Finally we cut back to Shoko-tan, who shows a bit more footage from the game. We see Kyogre rise up from the sea as the camera rotates around it, before it seemingly summons a storm. The footage ends there, and Toshi complains about not getting to see more, while Shoko-tan asks everyone what they thought, and they all agree it was really cool. Shoko-tan explains that since the game is still in development, they can't show more right now, this is all that was on their special beta cart. Taka says that even though it wasn't much, it was really exciting and intense. Shoko-tan then asks everyone to look at the box art again. She shows pictures of the legendary Pokémon Groudon and Kyogre, then asks if they don't think the Pokémon on the box art looks like them. They agree the Pokémon on the boxes look a bit different, and Shoko-tan asks if they don't think what we see on the box art might be their Mega Evolutions.

thumbnail thumbnail

She then ends the episode by saying they'll bring more information on these new games when it becomes available, and that everyone should look forward to that. Matsuda says he can't wait until November, and Taka tells everyone to tune back in next week as well.
