Pokémon UNITE’s Holiday Festivities Will Be Snow Much Fun

Pokémon UNITE is embracing the merriment of the season with holiday festivities running from December 15, 2021, to January 16, 2022. Players can get special log-in gifts such as reward boxes containing limited licenses and Trainer fashion items, earn special event rewards with the Illumination Challenge and Photo Challenge, and add two new Unite licenses to their collection as Tsareena and Dragonite enter the fray. And by taking part in Snowball Battle in Shivre City, players can watch as their Pokémon are transformed into snowmen during battle. Finally, from January 1 to January 3, 2022, the Unite licenses for all Pokémon will temporarily be made available to all players at no cost, allowing Trainers to use any Pokémon in any battle except ranked matches.

New Unite Licenses

Put your best foot forward during the festivities with two new Unite licenses. From December 9 to December 31, 2021, the Unite license for Tsareena will be available at no cost. Tsareena is a Melee All-Rounder that is ready to reign over the competition with moves like Triple Axel, Trop Kick, and Queen Ascendant.

On December 20, 2021, the Unite license for Dragonite will be available. With powerful moves like Dragon Breath, Outrage, and Draco Impact, this Melee All-Rounder harnesses its impressive heft and draconic might to dole out maximum damage. New Challenges

Take on exciting new challenges with the Illumination Challenge running from December 15, 2021, to January 16, 2022, and the Photo Challenge running from December 24, 2021, to January 6, 2022.

Participate in the Illumination Challenge by selecting the holiday tree in the lobby to compete in daily missions and challenge missions. By completing these missions, players can collect lights to light up the holiday tree and earn fun rewards—including a Trainer snapshot frame and background, a 1-day limited license, Trainer fashion items, and more.

The Photo Challenge doesn’t run the full length of the festivities, but it still serves up plenty of fun. Players can participate in standard battles, quick battles, ranked matches, and Snowball Battle in Shivre City to collect snowflakes. These snowflakes are then used to reveal parts of a photo that are hidden by a silhouette. Collect lots of snowflakes to complete the photo and earn rewards!

New Quick Battle Map

Ice out opponents on the new 4-on-4 quick battle map, Snowball Battle in Shivre City. On this map, opposing Pokémon that are knocked out will become snowmen for a limited time. Pokémon that are turned into snowmen will not be able to move, but they can visually assist their teammates. While a Pokémon is a snowman, its basic attack will instead cause it to jump into the air, and its moves will do different poses, such as cheering, waving, and giving a thumbs-up. When a Pokémon’s snowman form ends, it’ll leap free of the snow and return to battle.

During Snowball Battle in Shivre City, players can defeat wild Delibird to receive a gift box containing a random one-time battle item that replaces their current battle item. Additionally, the wild Avalugg that normally appears in the central area will be replaced with Articuno.

Special Log-In Gifts

Enjoy special themed rewards and prize boxes by logging in daily from December 24, 2021, until January 1, 2022. From December 25 to December 28, 2021, a prize box will be available from which players can choose to receive Aeos coins, Holowear tickets, Aeos tickets, or item enhancers. From December 29 to December 31, 2021, a prize box will be available that contains a 7-day limited license for one of six Pokémon of the player’s choosing. Finally, a New Year’s prize box will be available only on January 1, 2022, and it will offer players the opportunity to select from one of four exclusive Trainer fashion items!

Finally, be sure to check out the in-game shop for discounted items and cool seasonal Holowear for Pikachu and other Pokémon!

Happy holidays!

Seasonal Festivities Bring Fun New Ways to Play

BELLEVUE, WA — December 8, 2021—Today, The Pokémon Company International unveiled an avalanche of seasonal updates for Pokémon UNITE, including the all-new event Snowball Battle in Shivre City, filled with in-game challenges and surprises celebrating the holiday season, starting December 15, 2021 and lasting until January 16, 2022.

New Pokémon Enter the Arena—Tsareena and Dragonite Coming Soon to Pokémon UNITE

The festivities will kick off tomorrow with the launch of Tsareena, a new playable Pokémon being added to the game’s ever-expanding roster. As an All-Rounder, Tsareena provides new tactical opportunities and fun new ways for Trainers to play, bringing new moves like Trop Kick and Grassy Glide to shake up the strategic team gameplay. Additionally, players will be able to obtain a free Unite license for Tsareena until December 31, 2021 by simply logging in to the game and checking their in-game mail.

Trainers can also look forward to soaring through the skies as Dragonite, who is also releasing as a playable Pokémon on December 20, 2021. Stay tuned to official Pokémon social channels for more information and a first look at Dragonite in action.

Prepare for Festive Frolics with Snowball Battle in Shivre City

From December 15, 2021 to January 16, 2022, the holiday spirit will take hold in quick battles as KO’d Pokémon will turn into snowmen. Although frozen in place, snowmen can still provide tactical information for their teammates while waiting for their revival.

Moreover, players will receive a gift box after defeating Delibird, the Delivery Pokémon. Inside each gift box will be a random one-time battle item that replaces the player’s current item, keeping players on their toes in ever-changing and unpredictable encounters.

Along with these festive additions, the wild Pokémon in Shivre City’s central area will be replaced with Articuno two minutes into matches, offering new challenges for teams to take on.

Trainers and Pokémon will also be able to put on a festive look during the event, as new Holowear and Trainer fashion items will be added to the game.

Don’t Miss Out—Log-In Bonuses and Special Challenges Await

The Illumination Challenge will also take place from December 15, 2021 to January 16, 2022 alongside Snowball Battle in Shivre City. Players will need to light up the festive tree that appears in the lobby by collecting lights earned through daily missions (up to 100 lights per day) and challenge missions (up to 750 lights per challenge mission). Collecting lights will unlock decorative items and bonuses, including a 1-Day Limited License: Alolan Ninetales, new Trainer fashion items, and other holiday-themed decorations (a different number of lights will be required to unlock each item).

Additionally, from December 24, 2021 until January 6, 2022, players can enjoy the new Photo Challenge, collecting snowflakes to complete a fun seasonal art piece. Players can obtain snowflakes by battling in standard matches, quick battles, ranked matches, and Snowball Battle in Shivre City.

From December 24, 2021 until January 1, 2022, players can log in to Pokémon UNITE to receive daily rewards, such as Aeos tickets and items enhancers, as well as special gifts containing a limited selection of items from which players can choose their favorite.

To celebrate the new year, for the first three days of 2022 (January 1 to January 3), players will also have access to every Unite license in the game, allowing them to play with any Pokémon at no cost (except in ranked matches). This is the perfect opportunity for new players and returning veterans to try out a Pokémon they haven’t before, testing their skills against other players from around the world.

Trainers, ready for a blast from the past?

While visiting a historical cave site, I discovered a giant door equipped with a set of strange unlocking mechanisms! The team leaders and I have some hypotheses as to how to unlock it, but we’re still unsure as to what may lie beyond. Pretty exciting, wouldn’t you say?

Let’s explore this relic from the past as we ponder our own heritages! I have a feeling we’ll learn much more about this particular location over the coming months as we seek to solve these mysteries together. What can we learn from the histories of places, Pokémon, and even our fellow Trainers that will shed light on our future? Let’s GO find out!

12/1: Welcome to the Season of Heritage!

Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. local time to Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. local time.

After witnessing the power Hoopa Unbound was able to unleash during the Season of Mischief, Professor Willow has become intrigued by what other mysterious powers may be lying dormant in the world. His research brings him to a historical cave site, where he stumbles upon a large door bearing a set of strange unlocking mechanisms. How does it open? What lies beyond? Your research this Season will see you collaborating with both Professor Willow and the team leaders to help uncover this historic site’s mysteries.

12/5: Swinub Incense Day

Sunday, December 5, 2021, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time

Professor Willow recruits Blanche to help investigate the mysterious door’s mechanisms. After some analysis of the faded symbols adorning the door, Blanche determines that the first of the door’s mechanisms requires Stardust and the help of Ice- and Ground-type Pokémon to activate.

In order to continue their research on the door, Professor Willow and Blanche begin to modify Incense to specifically attract Ice- and Ground-type Pokémon like Swinub for a short period of time.

“According to my analysis of the door’s components, this should do the trick.”

Monthly Seasonal Bonuses and Timed Research

In addition, Timed Research will be available every month and will reward Trainers with exclusive avatar items. December’s Timed Research will be available to all Trainers, while the Timed Research in January and February will be available to those who pre-purchase a ticket for Pokémon GO Tour: Johto.

December 2021 - Team Leader: Blanche

Work alongside Blanche and Professor Willow to activate the first portion of the mysterious door’s unlocking mechanism. Blanche has been able to decipher that it requires Stardust and the help of Ice- and Ground-type Pokémon to do so—and that’s where you come in!

Monthly Bonus: 2× Stardust for first catch of each day

Timed Research: Stardust Challenge
Deino Hat Avatar Item
Collect 120,000 Stardust Total to Unlock! Earn Stardust during the month of December to make progress on Blanche’s Timed Research and unlock rewards like the Deino Hat avatar item! The Deino Hat avatar item will be available for purchase in the shop after the Season ends.

Astonishing! Decidueye swoops onto Aeos Island to battle up a storm in Pokémon UNITE on November 19th, 2021.

pic

Decidueye Is Now Available in Pokémon UNITE

Another Pokémon is ready to join your Pokémon UNITE ranks now that Decidueye has swooped into the game. Decidueye is a Ranged Attacker, so you’ll be able to get the drop on your opponents from afar. As you would expect, this Pokémon begins each match as the lovable Rowlet, but it evolves into Dartrix at Lv. 5 and Decidueye at Lv. 7.

Decidueye’s basic attacks increase in speed for a short time after one hits. This effect can stack, and with every third activation of this effect, basic attacks become boosted attacks for a short time. These boosted attacks fire more quills, but the damage dealt by each quill is decreased. Long Reach, Decidueye’s Ability, deals increased damage to distant opposing Pokémon.

Rowlet, Dartrix, and Decidueye’s Moves

At Lv. 1 and Lv. 3, Rowlet can learn Leafage and Astonish.

Leafage pelts leaves in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon hit by them. For a short time after using the move, Rowlet’s Attack and basic attack speed are increased. Astonish deals damage to opposing Pokémon and decreases their movement speed for a short time.

You won’t be able to upgrade either of these attacks until Rowlet evolves first into Dartrix at Lv. 5 and then into Decidueye at Lv. 7. At this point, Leafage can be upgraded into one of two moves: Razor Leaf or Spirit Shackle.

Razor Leaf summons whirling razor leaves. For a short time after using the move, Decidueye’s Attack and basic attack speed are increased. In addition, Decidueye’s basic attacks can target multiple opposing Pokémon for a short time. This move can also be upgraded to increase Decidueye’s basic attack damage the higher the opposing Pokémon’s remaining HP is.

Spirit Shackle charges power before firing quills in the designated direction. The damage dealt by the quills increases the longer power is charged, but Decidueye’s movement speed is decreased while charging. If this move hits after its power is charged to the maximum, it can stitch the opposing Pokémon’s shadow to the ground. The affected Pokémon will receive damage upon moving a set distance from that location, and its movement speed will be decreased for a short time. Upgrading Spirit Shackle will deal increased damage to opposing Pokémon with low remaining HP.

At Lv. 8, Astonish can be upgraded to either Leaf Storm or Shadow Sneak.

Leaf Storm creates a tempest of sharp leaves, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits and decreasing their movement speed for a short time. At point-blank range, it also shoves opposing Pokémon it hits. When upgraded, Leaf Storm increases the length of time that the movement speed of opposing Pokémon is decreased.

Shadow Sneak creates a shadow that takes hold of one opposing Pokémon in the area of effect, dealing damage to it and decreasing its movement speed and Defense for a short time. It also increases Decidueye’s movement speed for a short time. Upgrading Shadow Sneak will further decrease your opponent’s Defense when the move hits.

Decidueye’s Unite Move, Nock Nock

Your opponents will be wondering who’s there when Decidueye unleashes its Unite Move, Nock Nock, which it learns at Lv. 9. Nock Nock fires quills in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon. It ends by unleashing a particularly large quill that deals damage to all opposing Pokémon it hits. Nock Nock even deals increased damage if the opposing Pokémon’s remaining HP is low. While using this move, Decidueye becomes immune to hindrances but is unable to move.

If you want to take on your opponents while maintaining some distance, Decidueye could prove invaluable to your team. You can head over to the Unite Battle Committee shop and get Decidueye’s Unite license now.

The Pokémon Company International and Nintendo revealed new details today on how to encounter Legendary and Mythical Pokémon in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games, available on November 19, 2021, exclusively on Nintendo Switch systems.

INTRODUCING RAMANAS PARK IN THE POKÉMON BRILLIANT DIAMOND AND POKÉMON SHINING PEARL GAMES NEW IN-GAME BONUS REVEALED FOR THE POKÉMON LEGENDS: ARCEUS GAME

New to Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl, Ramanas Park is a facility players can visit after entering the Hall of Fame. There are caves dotted throughout the park, and the chambers inside them are filled with a mysterious atmosphere. Trainers can view a new video summarizing Ramanas Park and the latest information about Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl on the official Pokémon YouTube channel.

Slates Are the Key to Encountering Legendary Pokémon
Inside the rooms of Ramanas Park are pedestals, and it’s said that if players insert a slate into its corresponding pedestal, a Legendary Pokémon will appear. It’s unclear exactly how these slates can be obtained, so players will have to do some research while exploring the Sinnoh region.

Legendary Pokémon Players Can Encounter
Some of these Legendary Pokémon can only be encountered in one game version or the other, but players can still try to get them on their team through other means, such as by trading[1] with other players. In Pokémon Brilliant Diamond, it’s possible to encounter Raikou, Entei, Suicune and Ho-Oh. In Pokémon Shining Pearl, it’s possible to encounter Articuno, Zapdos, Moltres and Lugia.
