LogoThe latest Pocket Monsters game was released in Japan on September 13th, and according to Famitsu's website, it sold 967,675 copies the first two days it was on sale. Pocket Monsters Diamond and Pearl had a combined sales of 1.58 million units during their debut week of September 28 through October 1, 2006. It will be interesting to see if Platinum will be able to top Dimaond and Pearl's first week record which Diamond sold 813,237 units, while Pearl moved an impressive 762,029 copies.

Dengeki has also confirmed that the game easily passed the million mark on the third day it was on sale, bringing the Nintendo DS list of million sellers in Japan to twenty-six titles.

According to IGN, "Pokemon itself announced the sales feat, citing figures from independent sales tracking firm Media Create. Full Media Create numbers for all software and hardware over the week will be released later this week." Famitsu's numbers were provided by it's parent company Enterbrain.

LogoPokémon Platinum (Japanese: ポケットモンスター プラチナ Pocket Monsters Platina) is the next game in the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl series. The game will be available for purchase in Japan on September 13, 2008. The game will feature Giratina as its mascot and introduce its Origin Forme , as seen in the 11th Movie, Giratina to Sora no Hanataba: Shaymin. The new storyline will involve a disturbance atop Mt. Coronet, as a portal to the "Ruined World" (やぶれたせかい) is opened and Sinnoh's climate becomes colder. The trainers have been given new outfits to suit the colder climate.

In the game, there's a leaflet containing information regarding the new Pokémon forms. It confirms that they are Rotom as many predicted. The leaflet only reveals the first form. All the forms are accessible through the Secret Key after Rotom is captured at the Old Chateau and the formes it changes Rotom to depends on where you use the item. Below are pictures of the five new Rotom forme's.
