VIZ Media announces its August DVD lineup which includes four new Pokemon titles

picSan Francisco, CA, June 18, 2009 – VIZ Media, LLC (VIZ Media), one of the entertainment industry’s most innovative and comprehensive publishing, animation and licensing companies, has announced their list of DVD titles scheduled for release in August 2009. These include the latest episodic releases of the popular BLEACH, HUNTER X HUNTER and NARUTO series. August DVD releases also include four new POKÉMON titles for the younger set. Also releasing is the live action feature film – DEATH NOTE: L, change the WorLd from VIZ Pictures. VIZ Media DVD titles are distributed (in English) in the U.S and Mexico by Warner Home Video and in Canada by Allegro.

Three New Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Games Revealed

picA magazine scan from Pokémon Scoop 2009 Summer (ポケモンスクープ 2009 Summer) was posted on a Japanese forum and it has indicated that three more Pokémon WiiWare games are currently under development. All three games are based on Pokémon Mystery Dungeon.

'Melee! Pokemon Scramble x Pokemon Card Game' Announced

picThe Offical Japanese Pokemon Card Game website and the Offical Japanese Pokemon website announced a new game based on the TCG and the latest Wii game Melee! Pokemon Scramble. 'Melee! Pokemon Scramble x Pokemon Card Game' (乱戦!ポケモンスクランブル×ポケモンカードゲーム) will be available in Japan on July 10th, 2009. The game combines aspects of the trading card game with some of the features of Pokemon Scramble. Players put their cards down on the board which looks similar to the arena from the Wii game. Battles commence and players take turns trying to knock out their opponents.

The game comes with: A board, 16 battle cards, 14 player markers (set of 2 × 7), 52 damage counters (40 x 10 damage, 12 x 50 damage), four energy dice and an information guide. The game will retail for 500yen including tax and supplies are limited. The cards from the game can also be used in official Pokemon Card Game tournaments.

New Websites for Melee! Pokémon Scramble and Heart Gold / Soul Silver Launched

picNew websites for the upcoming games Melee! Pokémon Scramble and Heart Gold / Soul Silver launched today. http://www.nintendo.co.jp/wii/wiiware/wpsj/ is part of Nintendo Japan's WiiWare website and lists information about the game. http://www.pokemon.co.jp/special/hgss/ is part of the Official Japanese Pokemon website and it includes information and new artwork from the games that will be released later this year. A map of Johto was also published and can be seen by clicking on the picture to the side.

The level 5 Jirachi that was announced last week will also be available via Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection. It will be available for players of the Japanse versions of Pocket Monsters Diamond, Pearl and Platinum from June 19th to July 17th, 2009. The Jirachi can then be used to unlock the special Pokewalker course, entitled 'The Endless Night Sky (よぞらのはて)'.

picThe official Yahoo Japan website also updated their website with new artwork from the upcoming movie, Pocket Monsters - Arceus - Towards the Continuum of Conquest (アルセウス超克の時空へ). The all the images have been posted to the Imageboard. The thread does contain spoilers for the movie and the main series.
