Episode PictureThe latest episode of Pokémon Sunday, Kikyō Gym! Battle in the High Skies!! / Challenging the 'PokéSunthlon'! The Chief and Professor are Completely Different People? / Director Shoko-tan Plays in the Pokéwalker 'Yellow Forest' (キキョウジム!おおぞらのたたかい!! 「ポケサンスロン」に挑戦!所長と博士がまるで別人? ポケウォーカー「きいろのもり」をしょこたん部長が遊ぶ), aired today in Japan.

In today's episode of Pokémon Sunday, building upon the success of the recently released Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver games, the crew conducts their own 'PokéSunthlon' (ポケサンスロン).

Fist off, Professor Red and Golgo 'transformed' into wrestling stars to take on Robert in a match on Professor Red's latest invention, the Big RED051 PokéSunthlon Ring-Out Fight mat. [RED051 ポケサンスロン リングアウトファイト(大)]. Robert were easily defeated but complained that Red and Golgo didn't look the same and wanted a rematch.

For the PokéSunthlon proper, Robert competed in a series of events loosely inspired by actual Pokéthlon events. The first event, the Technique Course, was similar to the Catch Saucer Pokéthlon event. Robert threw rice crackers as far as they could while a referee measured the overall distance. Next, the Speed Course had them push a floorcloth down a hallway, and the Stamina course had them eat as many bowls of noodles as possible. In each event, they competed against a junior champion, who managed to beat them all every time around.

The rerun serial "Pokémon Selection" continued the theme "Journeys and Meetings in the Jouto Region", with today's episode featuring Satoshi battling for a gym badge at the Kikyō Gym against gym leader Hayato.

Pictures from this episode have been added to the episode guide. You can can also comment and discuss this episode. Also be sure to rate this and other episodes in the episode guide.
