Official Nintendo distributor Maxsoft will be holding a Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 Launch Event on October 7th, 2012 at the Funan DigitaLife Mall Level 5 just outside Cawaii Koohii in Singapore. A Pokémon tournament will be held as part of the event. Below are the details.

To Participate:

• Players must pre-register at Maxsoft’s website. (A registration link will be up on 1st October, limited to 48pax)
• Players are to bring their SEALED Pokémon Black Version 2 or Pokémon White Version 2 video game to register for the event at Level 5 Funan DigitaLife Mall before 12pm.
• At 1pm, players will start removing the seals to start the Pokémon Black Version 2 or Pokémon White Version 2 video game together.
• There would be a 15 minutes break for every hour of gameplay.
• Trainers are strictly NOT allowed to trade from any other games, including neighbor’s Pokémon Black Version 2 or Pokémon White Version 2 video game or even his/her own Pokémon Black Version or Pokémon White Version video game.

Rules for Competition:

• This competition will be using the Triple Battle format.
• The Wonder Launcher may be used.
• Players may use Pokémon found in the Pokémon Black 2 Version or Pokémon White 2 Version, including Genesect (Unova Dex #300)

Pokémon information:

• All Pokémon will automatically become Level 50 during battles.
• A player's team may consist more than one of the same Pokémon with the same National Pokédex number.
• Pokémon may only use moves learned by one of these methods: Leveling up, TM or HM, As an Egg Move – Via breeding, From a character in the game
• Already known by a Pokémon received at an official Pokémon event or promotion

Items:

• Each Pokémon on a player’s team may use held items
• All items must have been acquired in Pokémon Black Version 2 or Pokémon White Version 2
• BATTLES and Results Tracking: Battles will be conducted in 4 rounds of Swiss (battles); Trainers will be paired in teams; No one will be battling against someone whom they have already fought.

Random checks will be conducted throughout the competition. Anyone caught with illegal Pokémon will be disqualified immediately.

Pokémon Town opened on September 20th, 2012 on the 5th floor of Core Pacific City in Taipei, Taiwan. Pikachu was on hand for the opening celebration of the store which features genuine imported Pokémon goods from the Japanese Pokémon Center. Toys, plushies and clothes are all available for purchase at the store.


Also announced was the Taiwanese titles of the 15th movie and short. Kyurem VS the Sacred Swordsman Keldeo (酋雷姆VS聖劍士 凱路迪歐) and Meloetta's Sparkling Recital (美洛耶塔的閃亮音樂會) will premiere in theaters in Taiwan on October 5th, 2012. Keldeo is also being distributed to players of Japanese versions of Pokémon Black and White (ポケットモンスター ブラック・ホワイト) or Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 (ポケットモンスター ブラック2・ホワイト2) from September 20th, 2012 until October 20th, 2012. Players need to pre-order a ticket for the 15th movie, have a genuine cartridge of one of the games and a Nintendo DS variant.

How often do you hear requests from fans or the press about the possibility of a Pokémon MMO?
In terms of how often we get asked, I’m on Twitter and I get asked every once in a while, but it’s really not very often – from fans at least. I get the feeling that maybe not all of our fans are really interested in such an online game. It’s more so in interviews with the media and whatnot that I get asked about online games, like “Are you guys going to make an online version of Pokémon?” In terms of that, when you are playing remotely with someone very far away, obviously online, using the Internet like that is a really great option and it works great for that purpose, but with the Pokémon games, we really like to focus on face-to-face communication, and in-person communication, playing with people in the same space. One example might be like people from around the world come to the Olympics and have this huge event and that’s really exciting. While online play is a feature we also like and want to have in the games, encouraging this in-person face-to-face communication is something we want to continue to promote in our games.

To celebrate the overseas release of Pokémon Black Version 2 and White Version 2, a Halloween C-Gear skin will be distributed after the planned downtime of the Pokémon Global Link that features a Pikachu Pumpkin and two Hitomoshi . Also a dex skin will also be distributed at the same time. Both will be available on the Japanese Pokémon Global Link starting on October 3rd, 2012.

The official Pokémon YouTube channel has posted three new Pokémon Black and White 2 trailers for September that reveals new information on the upcoming games. Yamaji Town (ヤマジタウン) will be called Lentimas Town, Reverse Mountain (リバースマウンテン) will be called Reversal Mountain, the Black Skyscraper will be called Black Tower and White Treehollow will keep its name. The Pokémon Global Link website has announced that the site will be unavailable from September 25th, 2012 until October 3rd, 2012. The update should be similar to the one Japan received when Black 2 and White 2 were released there in the summer. Below are the full details.

The Pokémon Global Link is getting a tune-up in readiness for the Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 games.

Starting September 25, the Pokémon Global Link site will enter an extended maintenance period. During this time, none of the services of the Pokémon Global Link will be available, including the Pokémon Dream World, Global Battle Union Wi-Fi Competitions, and Game Sync linking. Remember to wake up any sleeping Pokémon before the maintenance period begins!

The Pokémon Global Link will be available again starting October 3, in time for the Pokémon Black Version 2 and Pokémon White Version 2 games, which launch on October 7!

An advertisement that is making the rounds online has revealed that Genesect will be available for a limited time starting in October. Genesect will be available for English players of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 from October 7th, 2012 until November 12th, 2012 via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection.


Genesect was first officially revealed in the August 2012 Corocoro in Japan. Genesect was distributed in Japan on the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and Nintendo Zones for players of Pokémon Black 2 and White 2 from August 11th, 2012 until September 14th, 2012.

Update: Nintendo Europe has announced that the distribution will start in Europe on October 12th, 2012.
