During the official Pokémon Sword and Shield - Pokemon Korea Champion Invitational Broadcast (포켓몬스터소드・실드 포켓몬 대한민국 챔피언 초청전 생중계) which was broadcast on YouTube on September 5th, 2020, a serial code to get a King’s Rock in Pokémon Sword and Shield was announced. The code is: K2020CHAMP10NS and it redeemable from September 5th, 2020 until September 6th, 2020 at 23:59. The code can be used worldwide to all players of Pokémon Sword and Shield.

Details about the Mewtwo Strikes Back Evolution (극장판 포켓몬스터 뮤츠의 역습 EVOLUTION) event Pokémon distributions were also announced during the stream. The movie which premieres in South Korea on September 30th, 2020 will have 2 serial codes. Players of Pokémon Let's Go, Pikachu! and Let's, Go, Eevee! can get a level 70 Mewtwo that knows the moves Psychic, Shadow Ball, Barrier and Calm Mind. Ash’s Charizard, which is level 50, will be available to players of Pokémon Sword and Shield and knows the moves Flamethrower, Dragon Tail, Slash and Seismic Toss.

The official Pokémon website has announced that players of Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield can get a serial code to claim a Porygon2 if they watch the Pokémon Players Cup which takes place August 22nd, 2020 and August 23rd, 2020. The serial code to get the Porygon2 will be announced during the broadcast and can be used until August 31st, 2020. The passcode is: PKMNPLAYERSCUP

A Shiny Amoonguss was distributed as part of the promotion for the Pokémon Sword and Shield Trainer's Cup YouTube stream broadcast by Pokémon Korea. The Amoonguss is based off of the one used by World Champion Senior Top 4 player Baik Jongyoon in the 2019 World Championships.

Earn a Shiny Zeraora and Armorite Ore in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield

If one million Trainers defeat Zeraora in a Max Raid Battle, players can receive a special Pokémon along with items that will be useful in The Isle of Armor.

The Isle of Armor, the first part of the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and the Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass, has arrived! To celebrate the release of this new chapter in the Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield adventure, players of those games can participate in Max Raid Battles against the Mythical Pokémon Zeraora.

From Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. PDT until Sunday, June 28, 2020, at 4:59 p.m. PDT, Zeraora will appear in Max Raid Battles, so gather your friends as you attempt to take down this Mythical Pokémon. Zeraora has the potential to appear in three-star Max Raid Battles or higher, and in five-star Max Raid Battles, there's a chance that you'll encounter an especially powerful Shiny Zeraora. You won't be able to catch Zeraora after it's defeated, but if at least one million Trainers manage to defeat Zeraora during this special event, a Shiny Zeraora will be available to everyone in Pokémon HOME.

In addition to Shiny Zeraora, every player who takes part in these Max Raid Battles will receive a piece of Armorite Ore for every hundred thousand Trainers that defeat Zeraora after the first million is reached (up to a maximum of 10 pieces). Armorite Ore can be used in the dojo on the Isle of Armor to have your Pokémon learn moves.

If the target numbers are reached, you'll be able to claim your Shiny Zeraora and Armorite Ore via the Mystery Gifts menu in the mobile device version of Pokémon HOME from Monday, June 29, 2020, at 5:00 p.m. PDT until Monday, July 6, 2020, at 4:59 p.m. PDT. Note that you don't have to have the Expansion Pass to encounter or receive Zeraora. In order to claim these gifts, you must also meet the following condition:

You must have deposited a Pokémon in Pokémon HOME or moved a Pokémon to Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield from Pokémon HOME between Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. PDT and Monday, July 6, 2020, at 4:59 p.m. PDT.

Note: Linking with Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield is a feature available only in the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME. For more details, please visit the Pokémon HOME section of the Pokémon Support website.

We hit our targets for the number of Trainers to defeat Zeraora in special Max Raid Battles celebrating the release of The Isle of Armor, the first wave of content for the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass. It looks like Trainers' skills were enough to impress Zeraora, because now a Shiny Zeraora will be joining your team! What's more, you'll also get some Armorite Ore, which will come in handy on the Isle of Armor.

You can receive all these gifts from the Gift Box in the Mystery Gifts menu in the mobile device version of Pokémon HOME.

Eligibility Conditions
In order to be eligible to receive the gifts, you must have moved Pokémon between Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield and Pokémon HOME from 15:00 UTC on June 17 to 23:59 UTC on July 6.

Note: You'll need to have linked the same Nintendo Account to both the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME and the mobile device version of Pokémon HOME in order to claim your gifts.

Note: The Pokémon displayed in the Gift Box will appear to have its regular coloring, even if it's a Shiny Pokémon.

Note: It may take some time for gifts received via code to appear after the code is used.

Starting Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at 6:00 a.m. PDT, if you transfer one or more Pokémon between Pokémon Sword or Pokémon Shield and the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME, you'll be able to receive a Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble with Hidden Abilities as Mystery Gifts in the mobile device version of Pokémon HOME.

To claim your in-game gifts, follow these steps.

  1. Launch the mobile device version of Pokémon HOME, and tap the button at the bottom of the screen to open the menu.
  2. Select Mystery Gifts.
  3. Select Gift Box.
  4. Select the gift in your Gift Box that you'd like to claim.
  5. Select Claim, and the Pokémon will be deposited into your Pokémon HOME Boxes.
Note: In order to receive these Pokémon, you will need to have the Nintendo Switch version of Pokémon HOME and the mobile device version of Pokémon HOME linked to the same Nintendo Account.

Four cool Pokémon and bonus items can be yours via Mystery Gift in Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield.

The release of The Isle of Armor, the first part of the Pokémon Sword Expansion Pass and the Pokémon Shield Expansion Pass, is drawing near. To celebrate, Pokémon Sword and Pokémon Shield players will be able to receive four special Galarian Pokémon via Mystery Gift. Starting May 22, 2020, there will be a new Mystery Gift each week, each containing a Pokémon—Galarian Mr. Mime, Galarian Ponyta, Galarian Corsola, and Galarian Meowth—along with a variety of items. These Pokémon will also have Hidden Abilities, making them valuable additions to your team!

Here's the release schedule for these exciting distributions:

  • May 22, 2020 — Galarian Mr. Mime with its Hidden Ability Ice Body, plus a Lure Ball, a Moon Ball, a Heavy Ball, and a Dream Ball
  • May 29, 2020 — Galarian Ponyta with its Hidden Ability Anticipation, plus a Level Ball, a Fast Ball, a Love Ball, a Friend Ball, and a Beast Ball

The Pokémon the Movie Coco Special Advance Ticket pre-order release date, which was scheduled for April 17th, 2020, has been postponed. There is currently no plans to delay the release of the movie in theaters in Japan which is still scheduled for July 10th, 2020. Our list of COVID-19 canceled Pokémon Events has been updated with this announcement.

From March 27th, 2020 until April 19th, 2020, the Pokémon Collecting Guide (ポケモンあつめようガイド), which is packed with tips for completing the Pokémon Zukan, will be distributed at participating stores in Japan including Geo, TSUTAYA, and Joshin. The guide comes with special Dynamax Crystal (ダイクリスタル) serial codes to allow players of Pocket Monsters Sword and Shield participate in a special Max Raid Battles against Stonjourner and Eiscue. The serial codes can be used until April 30th, 2020.

The official Japanese movie website has announced the pre-order ticket campaign for the Pocket Monsters: Coco movie that is scheduled to premiere in theaters on July 10th, 2020. Those that pre-order a ticket can get an Alternate-colored Celebi and Zarude serial codes for Pocket Monsters Sword and Shield. You do not need to have the Expansion Pass in order to receive these Pokémon. Advanced tickets go on sale at participating stores on Friday, April 17th, 2020 until July 9th, 2020.

Okoya Forest Celebi and Zarude Special Advance Ticket with Serial Codes

The special advance ticket has two serial codes, one for the Okoya Forest Celebi (オコヤの森のセレビィ) and one for the Okoya Forest Zarude (オコヤの森のザルード). If you lightly scrape the silver part on the back of special advance ticket with a coin, 16 alphanumeric characters will appear for each serial code.

COVID-19 Delay

The Pokémon the Movie Coco Special Advance Ticket pre-order release date, which was scheduled for April 17th, 2020, was postponed due to COVID-19. On June 15th, 2020, the official movie website updated and announced that the Special Advance Tickets could be purchased again starting on August 7th, 2020.
