Summary
Ash and co finally arrive in Goldenrod City, where Ash is ready to get his 3rd badge. There's many attractions in the city, much to Misty and Brock's liking but Ash, determined to get to his 3rd gym badge, gets to the gym but much to his dismay, it is closed due to the gym leader having a day off. Ash and co go around the city in disappointment. They soon meet a girl with a Clefairy, who is very friendly and hospitable towards the crew. It isn't long before Team Rocket shows up in one of the many goldenrod market places. They get Pikachu and then they set off to the magnet train. With a few powerful metronomes from Clefairy, the gang gets back Pikachu and sends Team Rocket down the magnet train line. After that, the girl with the Clefairy reveals herself as Whitney the gym leader and would be happy to have a battle with Ash. The battle appears to be one sided. Ash's Cyndaquil makes quick work of Nidorina and Clefairy and it appears he's going to win the battle and get his well deserved 3rd badge. But when Whitney sends out her secret weapon, Miltank, the battle is pretty much over. With a powerful rollout, Miltank defeats Cyndaquil. Next up is Totodile, whose water gun attempts to stop Miltank's unstoppable rollout but to no avil. He too is defeated. Ash's final hope is Pikachu, whose thunderbolt attack after Totodile's water gun should prove quite effective but it isn't Miltank's rollout overpowers Pikachu and Ash is the defeated. Not knowing whether to face Whitney again due to Miltank's powerful rollout, will this be the end of Ash's Journey through Johto?
