High Touch! 2009
Song ハイタッチ!
Song Artist 松本梨香 & 豊口めぐみ (Rica Matsumoto & Megumi Toyoguchi)

Summary:

High Touch! was the second song used in the Diamond and Pearl openings when it debuted in DP96: Ginga-dan Attacks! Part 1 (ギンガ団襲撃!! -前編-). The song features Satoshi and Hikari's voice actors, Rica Matsumoto and Megumi Toyoguchi, singing the song. Originally the opening started off in full screen and in standard definition but the show went to high definition in DP121 and the opening went to widescreen and high definition as well. The High Touch! 2009 variant had the same animation as the original but had different music.

The opening begins with "Hey Hey Hey" as ripples in outer space are shown followed by bubbles. Satoshi, Hikari and Takeshi briefly appear as "Hey Hey Hey" is sung the second time. The Pocket Monsters Diamond and Pearl logo warps in and shines as it stays on screen for a few moments.

Satoshi, Hikari, Takeshi, Pikachu and Pochama are seen running together on some grass until the camera rotates around to Hikari and it transitions to them in a boat with their current Pokémon parties. Throughout the series, the Pokémon in the boat with the main characters changes as they evolve. The next scene showcases Takeshi as he cooks lunch for everyone in a large pot.

A party scroll of all the main characters current Pokémon in a forest is shown. Once again this segment is updated throughout the series run when Pokémon evolve.

Hikari and Satoshi with their rivals are shown in a brief vertical scroll montage with coincides with the lyrics of the song which states: "Nice Partner!" & "Nice Rival!".

Once again Satoshi, Hikari, Takeshi, Pikachu and Pochama are shown and this time they are standing on a beach as they watch the sun in the distance. It then transitions to the five of them running on a topographical map of the Sinnoh region.

Professor Okido, Hanako, Kenji, Masato, Haruka, Kasumi and Shigeru have cameo appearances together in one shot as the camera pans by each of them in turn.

Another main character Pokémon party segment follows as the Pokémon are grouped in pairs and are also updated throughout the series. Rocket Gang is seen blasting off with their Pokémon right after, followed by Galaxy Gang and Pokémon Hunter J.

Satoshi, Hikari, Takeshi, Pikachu and Pochama are seen running on the topographical map of the Sinnoh region again as it transitions to Regigigas and Darkrai battling. The final shot features the main characters holding a Poké ball as the pose standing up.
